Is it everywhere or is it loads out of the Vegas terminal that has nothing? We sit more then we roll, making barely anything, got no money to pay taxes, behind on bills it's bananas.
I asked recruiting a similar question to yours. they said you can't be a 1099 contractor under swift if you live in these following 10 states: IL, CT, MA, NJ, NY, Maryland, Oregon, PA, Washington state, California. Your best bet if you live in Cali is to relocate to another state, find an owner operator company that will 1099 contract with Cali residents, or get your own authority.
Hello! For more information about becoming an Owner Operator, please give a call to our OO Business Advisors at 888-409-2516. They'd love to speak with you!
not too bad but would be great if you up grade the lease purchase trucks with work station in your volvos/ freightliners..my self I am a runner.. don't need too go home .mybe once a month if that..thank you😇✌
They don't but my bro inlaw is making around 90k driving for a.company in salem.by the cop training course I heard there will be a trailer recession here soon so be careful also as a new driver thru swift ur not guaranteed a direct contract so most likely u will sit more than ur gonna be pulling
I'm a retired firefighter who's seriously thinking of joining Swift, Im concerned about the lack of home time available to drivers. Can you honestly speak on that?
I was never with SWIFT but with another “Mega” carrier. Depending on how much you’re looking to make. I would expect to be out on the road a minimum 2 weeks with about 3-4 days home. If you have good business acumen and lower monthly obligations at home, lease operator is the better option. If you don’t want the responsibility, company driver is still a good option. This is a lifestyle not a job, remember that.
The only way you are going to make any real money as an O/O is to be a mentor. If you don't want to train then company is probably the way to go. The "Owner operator" get treated like a company driver but has all the over head while the company has very little overhead and banks
You say 9 months. Is that 9 months in the last year, 2 years, 3 years etc. 34 years driving otr, some as an Owner Operator years ago, but been at home the last 2 years taking care of my wife while she was going through cancer treatments.
You do it to build company business credit on your EIN, if you can handle it for 2 years a finance department will give you a regular loan. It’s good to build your business
Just wanted to share that while the quality of this video im linking isnt the greatest the info is solid on how to understand the FSC Program at Swift th-cam.com/video/hZb6GzlkS2w/w-d-xo.html
Stop calling it an owner operator they’re not owner operators they’re Maintenance Operators because they’re going to maintain a truck that they will never own
I would definately feel I would not think twice except I m 89 and am Canadian just listening to you boys ,you sound convincing to me keep it going😊😊😊
How many current direct contracts you all have for newbies coming in ?

They don't care , work history has to be current
Probably one of the worst experiences I had with a company Swift they don't take care of their owner operator
Thought it was 6 months
Its a trap dont do it! Steer clear they will lead you directly into the poor house!
Beware!!!
Can you consistently bring home 2k a week after expenses???
Around 1.5k or less
I personally know someone who did a lease to get his truck
