Great video. Do you have a video going over your UI?

ummm. unfort i don't. The base is Elv, customized with Domnios for the bars and easy frames for unit frames. I have a Vuhdo raid frame mostly for the mouse over team/pet devour. The item rack is organized in a way that follows my key bindings for each slot. Rest of it is weak aura, i.e., dots, cds, shield, and proc tracking.

Got any tips for dealing with geared ele shamans? They’re the only class I seem to consistently struggle with. Felhunter melts every time, so I decided to try felguard and found some success with it because he’s a lot tankier and the stun allows me to get a window where my pet can kill totems as I cast fear on the shaman, but it’s still rough. Thoughts?

Ele shaman is THE hard counter. I won't say felguard is more tankie since Felhunter can devour to heal, and the spell lock is also good. W/ felguard, Shamans can just pop decoy right away and then spamming tremor/grounding while hard casting your felguard.
They have a lot of different playstyles too. It always is the perfect balance of CC/rushing + RNG for tremor totem/heartbeat that don't break the fear. Imo, felguard is definitely easier for dmg pressure, but the cap is also low against top-notched shamans.
I have no proven strategy against them, but I'd say if you can get fear out while not DRed much and you still have spell lock and DC not on CD, you are basically 50:50. Tho it's very hard to get to that perfect setup when shaman knows their shit. May need a long-ass rotation and then helm/sleep to reset for that. Other than that, you are doing it right. Let me know once you figured it out :)

@@qijia3707 I see, the shaman I was fighting earlier was full r10 with shadow reflector and the heart of darkness pvp trinket, so I assumed he was good because he beat my ass a few times lol, but if he wasn’t using decoy into felguard then I didn’t get proper practice with the matchup. Decoy would be a hard counter to felguard so I think I’ll just stick to using the felhunter from now on. I’m thinking I’ll setup a dispel macro for flame shock on my felhunter in the future rather than dispelling flame shock from myself, maybe that’ll allow my pet to stay alive a bit longer.
Getting my pet to kill the grounding and tremor without dying is the main issue I’m trying to work around, maybe using goblin mortar into nade when my pet is in a vulnerable position will be the key to getting the shaman into a full fear without the pet dying. I’ll have to try it out a few times and I’ll let you know.
Would you recommend always using curse of tongues on the shaman or do you think the extra dmg from a demonic grace/amp curse agony is more worth it?

@@Krul2895@patrickdurkan2433 always COT. You can micro-manage it a bit when you fear Shamans out and switch to COA, but it won't make much of a difference, IMO. Mortar is good. Nade can be a hit or miss when you fight orcs. I'd prior grounding and then fear while using pet attack macro on tremor. Try to fear and kill totem simultaneously or kill totem right after fear goes off because tremor has no CD.
the bottom line is that you'll never win shamans who know the lock mechanics. killing totems and double fear when needed. Once fear goes out, prior dmg than CC. The key is to keep them focused on healing instead of DPS. I am not very good at felguard, so I am not sure about how good it can be. Hypothetically, pet stay to start => wand grounding => intercept => double fear => pet killing tremor. Rock helm or sleep if Shaman pops the reflector at the beginning.
If the fight goes long with too much fear DRs, always monitor your dots timer so you can helm/sleep for a reset. That works well when both of you are low. You can easily secure a kill if you still have fel dom - assuming the pet already died. The most nasty shaman will 1) spam/teleport tremors and make them hard to kill, 2) either kite you with improved earth binding or wolf - make sure pop fap in either case, 3) resto heavy and always keep themselves topped and casually kill your pet. It doesn't take a lot of skill to fight locks if an entry-level shaman can master the above 3.
