  • What are the most dangerous areas in London? Some people are dying to live in London and this is understandable. London is one of the most developed and sophisticated cities. It is a place with all amenities of life. Surely, if you can work around the high cost of living, London is a great place to live. But wait a minute! What about the crime rate? In truth, London's crime rates make it a relatively dangerous city. If you have access to the figures n the reports about the incidences of burglary alone, you might be scared. Nevertheless, we have found that it’s not every borough in London that is dangerous. To convince you, this video will show you the 10 most dangerous boroughs in London for burglaries.
    10. Wandsworth
Wandsworth Town, a district of south London, is within the London Borough of Wandsworth. In 2021, the overall crime rate there was 75 crimes per 1,000 people. While this might be lower than the overall crime rate in London during the same period, it’s not so safe for burglary.
Wandsworth in June 2021 was the most dangerous district in London for burglary, having the worst rate for this crime. That month, it reported 223 burglaries. It reported a crime rate of 6 per 1,000 workday people in 2017, 6.6 in 2018, 6.35 in 2019, 5.63 in 2020, and 5.2 in 2021. In 2021, it reported a total of 2,218 burglaries with a rate of 6.73. This makes it 15 percent more dangerous than London for burglary.
    9. Lewisham
Lewisham, a London borough in south-east London forming part of Inner London had an overall crime rate of 85 crimes per 1,000 people in 2021. That places it in a fair 20th position among the 32 boroughs with a crime rate 1.5 percent lower than London's rate.
However, it’s not so safe for crimes like burglary. Our primary sources give Lewisham’s crime rate as 5.95 per 1,000 in 2017, 7.2 in 2018, 7.03 in 2019, 6.33 in 2020, and 5.32 in 2021. This source ranks Lewisham as the most dangerous for burglary in London in June 2020 with 215 burglaries reported. In 2022, the borough had 2,036 burglaries at the rate of 6.66 per 1,000. In 2021, it was 8 per 1,000, 9 in 2020, 8 in 2019, and 7 in 2018.
    8. Islington
Islington, a district in the north of Greater London is a part of the London Borough of Islington. That is the next of the 10 most dangerous boroughs in London not only for burglary but also for other crimes. In 2021, the overall crime rate in the borough was 102 crimes per 1,000 people which was 18 percent higher than the London case.
As for the burglary rate in Islington, it was 5.33 per 1,000 in 2021, 5.96 in 2020, 7.54 in 2019, 8.62 in 2018, and 6.92 in 2017. Another source puts the 2022 burglary rate in Islington at 7.38 with 1,789 crimes reported. In previous years, it was 11 per 1,000 in 2020 and 2019, 9 per 1,000 people in 2018, and 7 in 2017.
    7. Lambeth
Lambeth, a district in South London is in the London Borough of Lambeth. The overall crime rate in this borough in 2021 was 11 percent higher than the London rate. Lambeth had 103 crimes per 1,000 people. It’s the 23rd most dangerous in the UK and the 707th most dangerous out of all cities, towns, and villages in the country.
The burglary rate in Lambeth in 2017 was 5.44 per 1,000 residents. It was 6.05 in 2018, 7.32 in 2019, 7.29 in 2020, and 6.7 in 2021. According to another statistics, the borough reported 2,219 burglaries in 2022 giving the rate of 6.81 per 1,000. Yet another stat says the rate was 10 in both 2021 and 2020, 8 in 2019, and 7 in 2018.
    6. Southwark
Southwark in Central London forms the north-western part of what’s known as the wider modern London Borough of Southwark. In 2021, the overall crime rate in Southwark was 98 crimes per 1,000 people which compares poorly to London's overall crime rate, about 13 percent higher. It’s even more dangerous for burglary.
This borough recorded 212 burglaries during May 2021, making its burglary crime rate the worst in London that month. It has 5.55 burglaries per 1000 residents in 2021, 5.87 in 2020, 7.21 in 2019, 6.63 in 2018, and 7.02 in 2017. Another statistics reveals that Southwark recorded 2,339 burglaries in 2021 at the rate of 7.34 per 1,000 people. The same data shows that it had 10 burglaries per 1,000 persons in 2021 and 2020, 8 in 2019, and 7 in 2018.

Compared with when I was an apprentice at a graphic repro print firm in the
60s when I traveled around London delivering and collecting artworks
I would say the whole of London is a lot more dangerous place to be these
days, where you are more likely to be arrested for defending yourself than
the attacker. My wife and me moved out of west London in the early 80s
when the first signs of trouble were brewing and have not had any inclination
    to go back.

It's easy to see why hackney is number 1, lots of new money still a lot of poverty the two things don't mix and thus you have a high crime rate, it's a shame many people have been forced to leave london because of the price of living, i still feel bitter about it
