If you don't already have one, a rescue beacon might be advisable. You are not out in the "wilderness", but you are still on your own and if you were to fall and break a leg it could be a long time before anyone found you. I have gone down a couple time, but had a buddy with me. Luckily nothing was broken.
Garmin makes some affordable units. Relative to the potential situation of "I'm screwed, my phone doesn't work and people won't start worrying for hours".
I'm 70 and usually fish alone. I am dang careful about where I TRY to fish. Because not only do I have to be careful going TO fish, but gotta get out to. Hope you're ok Nick. Thanks for the video.
Glad you didn't get (seriously) injured! I feel your pain though. I have a bad habit of doing a lot of scrambling on rocks, climbing onto and over trees, logs, ditches, etc., when bank fishing, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get hurt one of these days. I've fallen like you did a few times, but so far I've dodged any serious injury. Sadly, I'm a 50 year old guy who sometimes forgets he isn't 12 years old anymore. *sigh*
After being severely injured in a high fall, I could really feel for you. So glad you didn't get hurt and your equipment is OK. And you didn't get skunked!
Dude glad you're ok. I'm pushing 60 and find myself gravitating to docks and beaches. Just not as steady on the feet. Your dive for the drone is one of my all time fav non fish moments, love your dedication. Tight lines.
I’m glad you’re safe Nick, please be careful out there and always make sure to tell someone where you’re headed and when to expect you back. Very excited to see you catch a creek chub, they’re all I’ve got in my local steam and I’ve come to really enjoy fishing for them. I caught my first brook trout accidentally by going for them in another spot. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there!
I once fell and slid down a very long slippery slope during my fishing trip. Fortunately it was just only dirt and tree branches on the slope and I managed to slow down the slide and got to safety. I am glad that you are okay Nick!
Glad your OK . Gotta be extra careful when your on your own , if I fell like that it would take a crane to get me up ( old and fat ) No broken bones , no broken rods , no skunk , not bad . As always , enjoyed the video 😎👍👍
I'm glad you didn't get too badly hurt. I enjoy watching every video. I think it should be time for another fly fishing adventure. I started fly fishing and it's my favorite thing to do. Just got my first trout this week and what a feeling.
Nick is looking for more of a challenge, so he has decided to combine two sports rockclimbing and fishing together 😂. Be safe and “rock on” (not fall off) 🤘😎
I’ve always wondered on some of those secluded places Nick fishes. Could be dangerous, running into the wrong people. I truly hope you “carry”. Remember, better to have and never need, then to need and not have. 🤘😎
love the footage, the QUALITY, when releasing fish! Great camera work. Be careful out there. Someone suggested a camera man and it’s a good idea. Don’t know your circumstances but something to think about. Happy Thanksgiving!
Time for a cameraman for backup. You are going to find yourself into a situation that by yourself will be difficult to get out of in timely manner before spending some long cold hours out there. That fall was a warning.
Whatever I've been fishing by myself more times than I can count and nothing has happened. Falls are a part fishing..... climbing on slick rocks, going down steep banks, mud , quicksand, etc....... He'll be fine
The "nothing has happened to me, so he'll be fine" logic can be lethal. Anyone in a remote place is a rolled/broken ankle away from tragedy and that's just a fact. The fact that others go out routinely and safely means NOTHING to anyone else's chances of an accident happening. So everyone....be safe. Complacency is where disaster is born and raised! ✌🏾
I'm always impressed by how polite you manage to remain in all circumstances !! It adds to the pleasure of watching your adventures. Polite and cheerfull. I wish I'd be always like this 😅
Great fishing adventure Nick, only small fish is ok. I watch because of you and the excitement you bring to fishing. Be careful on those sketchy slopes, glad you are ok.
Glad you are ok bro! I know its obvious but I need to point out that is not a good place to break a leg/ankle or get a bad concussion or impale yourself on a branch... I do enjoy your videos and I would like it very much if you were able to continue making them. All things considered this was a successful episode.
Never fun when that happens, I feel ya Nick, happens to me too. Glad it wasn't really bad tho. Also glad you was still able to keep positive and get a video out too! Stay safe and Keep at it Nick!
That second spillway is near me. There are alot of bait fish in there, some gar and cats. Last time I went there I didn't have any luck either.(about a week ago) The water was low and and the river was pushing alot of snags up stream. Cool spot though. Hope to see you out there someday!!!
I can remember times fishing back country rivers in my 20s solo that I wasn't sure I'd be able to get myself out of an area I'd fallen down into. Wasn't until my 30s, when I had to crawl with a broken ankle to an area I could get cell service and call for an air lift out that I really realized I needed to have a partner with me, just in case. Glad you managed to avoid more than some bruises and next day body hurt. Might be time to consider bringing another enthusiast into your channel.
I believe in the buddy system. I've actually worried about this happening to you, I know what it's like walking on unstable footing in the name of fishing and hunting. Stay safe.
Have to be careful on any of those big rocks. Sorry for that, especially when we like to go in crazy places to fish. And I have done crazy things when it comes to fishing. Glad you didn't get hurt bad. Take care out there.
Glad your ok... the second spillway that's gotta be the lowest I've seen that in years I've seen it way up and over the wall I've cought alot of big fish there
This is why I fish with a buddy. Not just because no one will believe my, "The one that got away." story. It's because, I want to live to tell the story. I'm glad you did.
Lord little brother you sure scared me there. Im so glad you didn't get hurt bad. You got lucky this time my brother. I've seen you take some licks from falls, but this one was bad. I hope you aren't too sore tomorrow. Love you homie and be careful dude. Love from the ole hillbilly Kenny, peace and god speed.
I’m glad your ok and didn’t really didn’t get hurt! Well you did catch some fish sadly they were all small.Be careful dude and take care! See you next adventure!
Rub some dirt on it, glad you're ok.. Ive done so many solo adventures to find remote fishing spots and falling, getting sick, animal attack or going into the water has always been in the back of my mind... and mind you I swim like a rock.. also many spots Ive ventured into have no cell service. All part of the Fishing Addiction...lol
One of my biggest fears is getting severely injured while fishing or hunting. My worst experience so far was when a bullhead stuck its entire spine into my hand. Luckily the car was nearby. Glad you did not break anything in your fall. Be careful out there bro.
Creek chubs are way to local to pa. Be careful and fish like it's the last day of the year. Good luck . I was killed in a car accident may 4th, they rolled me over and my heart started, be careful, you never know when it's your last day. I'm back and happy to see all your adventures
Dude falling while fishing in waders sucks. I've totally taken some big spills and taken baths while in waders. If you don't know what you are doing, you can get into some serious trouble fast. Stay safe out there man!
Glad you are ok. Man you should really consider bringing somebody along with you. That would awful way to go out, taking a spill and having no way to get help.anyways glad ur ok dude
Glad your ok bud the same thing happened to me only I ended up in the water with a broken leg thank goodness my oldest daughter was with me and could drive
I was out on a whitetail hunt about 10 years ago and stepped on a flat Boulder the size of a dining room table. It broke in half and I split my knee open. Never so glad to be in the wilderness with a friend. Be careful and be blessed!
My parents next door neighbor fell out of his deer stand and broke his back and impaled himself with an arrow. He dragged himself to his truck and passed out when he made it back home and his wife found him when she got back from work. My dad bought him a harness to hook up to while he was in the hospital and he's been using it ever since he healed
I think my favorite thing about your fishing is that you appreciate all the fish you catch, not just the monsters. Well done!

Glad you are ok, hopefully the soreness doesn't last for to long
Glad you didn't get (seriously) injured!

With you right there...I gave up the risky stuff 5 years back. Not insured for that.
I’m glad you’re safe Nick, please be careful out there and always make sure to tell someone where you’re headed and when to expect you back. Very excited to see you catch a creek chub, they’re all I’ve got in my local steam and I’ve come to really enjoy fishing for them. Hope you’re not too sore in the morning…glad you lived to fish another day
Be careful with yourself! We need you to be able to get out fishing, and you are a young man and don't want some serious injuries! Take care!
Glad your OK . Gotta be extra careful when your on your own , if I fell like that it would take a crane to get me up ( old and fat ) No broken bones , no broken rods , no skunk , not bad . As always , enjoyed the video 😎👍👍
Glad you’re ok! I love your attitude (“I can’t complain”).
Great stuff man 👍🏻👍🏻
Praise God bro! I’ve taken a few falls myself where I was so thankful for only small scrapes! Keep up the great work and stay safe out there!
I'm glad you didn't get too badly hurt. I enjoy watching every video. I think it should be time for another fly fishing adventure. I started fly fishing and it's my favorite thing to do. Just got my first trout this week and what a feeling.
I'm glad you're alright. It's a great video as usual, Nick .
That’s a reminder to be careful and always make sure someone knows your location and return time. Hopefully nothing hurts to bad. Stay safe brother
Glad you’re okay Brother. Enjoyed the content as usual. Thanks Nick 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽

Glad you’re ok Nick. Thanks again for the adventure my friend. Tight lines buddy 😎
love the footage, the QUALITY, when releasing fish! Great camera work. Be careful out there. Someone suggested a camera man and it’s a good idea. Don’t know your circumstances but something to think about. Happy Thanksgiving!
Glad you're ok, it's amazing how quickly stuff like that happens! 😃
Time for a cameraman for backup. You are going to find yourself into a situation that by yourself will be difficult to get out of in timely manner before spending some long cold hours out there. That fall was a warning.
Oh brother, no he is fine, go away .
Whatever I've been fishing by myself more times than I can count and nothing has happened. Falls are a part fishing..... climbing on slick rocks, going down steep banks, mud , quicksand, etc....... He'll be fine
😂 shoo
I volunteer as tribute!

Glad you’re okay from that fall. I live in Edwardsville if you’re looking for a backup cameraman, driver, or fishing buddy!
Great fishing adventure Nick, only small fish is ok. I watch because of you and the excitement you bring to fishing. Be careful on those sketchy slopes, glad you are ok.
True fisherman. Not many folks get excited over a creek chub. Glad you didn’t get hurt from that spill
Glad you are ok bro! I know its obvious but I need to point out that is not a good place to break a leg/ankle or get a bad concussion or impale yourself on a branch... I do enjoy your videos and I would like it very much if you were able to continue making them. All things considered this was a successful episode.
Glad you’re okay. It’s a risk we take if we are outdoor enthusiasts, I’ve done it myself. Love the videos and have watched all of them.
Never fun when that happens, I feel ya Nick, happens to me too. Glad it wasn't really bad tho. Also glad you was still able to keep positive and get a video out too! Stay safe and Keep at it Nick!

Love your dedication. I would have definitely gone home after the 2nd more serious fall. Look forward to seeing your post next week 😊
Glad you weren't serious injured. Great video as always.
Yikes! That was a close fall for sure! I'm glad you're alright.
That Drone Catch was AWESOME !

I believe in the buddy system. I've actually worried about this happening to you, I know what it's like walking on unstable footing in the name of fishing and hunting. Stay safe.
Facts I try to go with someone or at least let people know where I'll be fishing/ hunting if something like this ever happened.
Especially important in areas without cell coverage. Be careful out there everyone
Glad you are ok.. bet you were sore the next morning... thank for keeping the great videos coming
Glad you’re ok brother, love your videos!

Be safe out there man we need you👏🏾❤️

I fell at a remote spillway and had to call 911 to get me out.
Be careful, Nick.
Love, love you have a good day, stay safe❤❤❤

I've caught a pile of micro walleye, a good number of white bass and my only Illinois smallmouth at that last spillway!
Hope you are fine! ❤ Two heavy falls in this trip. 😢
Life alert 🚨 please sponsor Nick‼️
One of my biggest fears is getting severely injured while fishing or hunting. My worst experience so far was when a bullhead stuck its entire spine into my hand. Luckily the car was nearby. Glad you did not break anything in your fall. Be careful out there bro.
Hope you are OK from the fall. Be extra careful when you are alone.✌️&❤️
I’m glad your ok !!! Be mindful!
Love the videos. Only thing I gotta say is it has to be longer. More fish catches or film of the journey.
I had a near miss on rocks once. I just avoid them now. Very happy you are ok. Hope it's nothing seruious.
