How to catch a 16kg Steenbras with a teeny weenie rod and smaller reel. And to top it all, the fisherman is a WOMAN - Sariet Nortje from South Africa. The fish was caught at Henties Bay, Namibia on 2 September at about 12h00.

Very nice fish especially on light tackle , congrats.
Just word of caution to anyone stumbling across this vid... to not touch the line to pull in the fish. let the rod's flexibility take the brunt of the shock if the fish turns in the breakwater. A taught line being held by hand will snap or at best will cut your hands. rather wait till fish on sand and grab it by the gills if you want to help out.

dude no offence .. I got a 16.5kg Steenbras on 10lb line with a diawa nexave rod that was bent double for 1.5 hours solid ... that fish looked like its asleep boet lol .. didnt even fight at all wow... mine took me 3 kms up the beach and back ...

west coast steenbras and cape steenbras (pignose) are 2 different fish when it comes to fight.
