Vineeth literally used Chennai as one of the character of the movie instead of just a place. Between so much stereotypes, this is such a really beautiful way to pay homage and portray a different city/place that no one or few tried to do. Respect bro :) Love from Chennai

I never thought BR would do a deep dive with Hridayam, it is very sweet and wonderful to see him ask these questions to understand the director's intension on the scenes even though the movie as a whole felt plain and simple. It is really nice to see this kind of appreciation. Thank you BR for this interview.

In an interview Vineeth told how he introduced his love to his dad..As he was not confident enough to tell him on face,he called him on phone and told he is in a relationship and Sreenivasan sir asked is it the girl who came on this day at home (among many friends)and correctly pointed out which one is her..As Vineeth was surprised and asked how do you knew it,he said "A MAN IN LOVE IS RIDICULOUS TO WATCH"
Just wanted to say it here as he mentioned how in ease sreeni sir writes ,but has beautiful or immense meanings...

This was a very much wanted interview from the side of "the maker of hridayam".. And I couldn't control my excitement as it happened with FCsouth...once any film is released, it's thereafter not only the film of it's makers but also the property of it's audience as well... And I felt so involved while the interviewer pointed out each little nuances of the movie... I wonder how beautifully he processed a new side of the story inside his head.. Also it was a delight to watch and hear from vineeth sreenivasan talking about his way of thought process and back stories of the film.. The point which BR sir stick on for about half of the interview was that " the film was not only arun's but also darshanas"..and that made me think for a while... But this version of darshana is beautiful, real and convincing as the way it is conceived by the maker.. And if it wasn't this way, then it wouldn't have been the hridayam what we all have loved and taken into our hearts....in many ways I could relate myself with darshana... And I find it more relatable... Also to add, I expected BR sir to touch on some more sensitive but yet some other beautiful scenes from the movie like the father-son hug scene, kalyani's scenes after the delivery, selva's terrace and his death, lachu paatti's food, smile and yoga, the importance of train in the film, darshana recalling her kissing arun while kissing his son etc...hridayam was beyond 2 love stories.... At the end of the day, one can't dissect more or judge those intentions of the maker as it is all his characters, his experiences, his believes and his hridayam ...♥

phewww... what a discussion...this is exactly what i wanted aftr watchin the movie.... darshana by far the most intriguing and enigmatic charecter.. lovd darshana rajendran expressing complex emotions like water..the min they show arun and darshanas egos kicking in and they both goin to extreme to hurt each other i was like dude they r not meant to be together though they can fire up the screen with their passion and chemistry but in life u want peace and not sparks.. so these two being identical and confused they r just not meant to be together and vineeth had the same thot.. so i was relieved... and like rangan said.. mayas fathers death scene and aruns sons birth scene i felt had the purest of feel and emotion coz birth and death being the purest of emotion one goes thru..so no scope to fake there,, so maya asks that question to arun and similarly arun calls darshana at his sons birth the one who is closest to his heart rather who is just like him at heart.... thanx vineeth for this awesome movie!!!!

Could you please do an 'Ask BR' episode of the movie before you do a Deep Focus with the director? I mean it would be good to get across our questions to the director which we cannot otherwise. It would probably also help you to get some other questions/points that you would not have thought of. Please consider. Thank you.

Watched hrudayam and watched this interview. Bhardwaj Rangan.. Too good. You really brought out what Vineeth is lacking in his writing. I am sure this will spur Vineeth to write better the next time around. Vineeths heart is in the right place for sure, but the explanation he gave for starting afresh post interval is a classic case of the writer getting to a point where he himself got overwhelmed(must have touched some raw nerve in him), and decides to completely let go and start again. Thats dishonesty creeping into something one has been putting his soul into until that while. From this moment it was the dishonest writer looking to dive deep into the nostalgia bit to feel good about himself( kind of a vanity thing) while letting go of his honesty. It all came back in that scene where Darshana leaves from Arunz place. But again he ends that scene very shabbily. She in her condition then will simply leave , wont be talking to Antony even. Same thing happens when Vineeth creates this scene of Darshana wanting to meet with Arun the eve before her marriage(heart), then treats it badly(dishonest). So Hrudyam is a really good movie in the sense of the world Vineeth has created with all his heart, and falters wherever he has left his heart to purposefully bring on something very deliberately.
This interview will make Vineeth think deeply about his mistakes in writing. I believe he should collaborate with a cowriter in the future and dont attempt it solely as he is too heart in his writing , and then leaves the heart completely to crutch on to something different and deliberate. A movie with nice moments for sure. Wouldve loved Vineeth writing it with complete honesty allthrough. That wouldve made it to something at a different level altogether.

Excellence interview, what a brilliant way of digging into the master mind of Vineeth Sreenivasan the genius.
One thing the interviewer had doubt about was Darshana and her behaviours. This is my interpretation of the story. Only my point of view
Darshana is representing the Parvati/Kali energy and Arun Shiva/demon
In love they complemented each other and ones happiness can be seen in another, like the moon absorbing sun energy. When Shiva is in his essence Kali is Parvati
Then the fall happens and Arun slips and falls and is no more Shiva but the fallen demon.
Kali emerges and does her blood thrist dance and Arun cannot control her or dominate her. He goes into depression same as her.
Then when Arun cleans the room (Jordan Peterson speaks volume of this) He decided to change and go back to his father! Back to masculine
He goes back to his essence and is in his masculine and she feels this as you can see this reflecting on her face when she looks/absorbs him during his teaching at Selva class. That is Arun in his masculine essence.
He could and did want to go back to Darshana as the attractions was mutual but thats when universe comes in and plays dice..They were destined to make each other better but not to be together…twin flames but not soal mates…
His destiny was his family with Nithya who was his soul mate. He accepts this.
Darshana goes back to her darkness but realised he is grounded now and cannot be shaken…Shiva in meditation
So she too opens her heart and lets light in…
Darshana liberated Arun the boy to become man.
Arun the Man saved Darshana from the hurting little girl to Loving women

I think, for anyone watching this video, respect for Vineeth's work would sky rocket. It takes the mind of a genius to design these complex characters and their emotional interactions. The honesty in directing compliments rightfully to his editor, actors and crew deserves appreciation.

The way emotions are portrayed as real as it can be... it's never black and white... hence I could relate to darshana really really well... she loved Arun but she was angry too coz she felt cheated, but when the realization sets in that Arun is going away... we may or may not Meet.. thsts when the emotions hit in full force... the question....What if... the curiosity to know the unknown... thts the most interesting part about darshana here

One of the things I noticed with secret alley s that when arun goes back to it after so many years ... the walls looked very similar to how it was when they left college .... so many batches would have passed out before he goes there the next time n the walls would have a lot more messages

For Baddy to like a film is one thing. To consider it for his deep focus segment is something on a whole another level. Just look at his guests so far. It's a very prestigious show to be in as far as makers are concerned.😍

Vineeth is most genuine person and makes best movies where the emotions of the characters are real and genuine. He is born to write scripts and direct movies. He is in no hurry to make movies , all the characters and their emotions goes through him and those feelings are penned down, slow process but very effective and full of life and he convincingly directed it. Thats why audience and critics unconsciously says it's Vineeth Sreenivasan movie rather than titled with actors name. Last but not the least he got best actors, technicians, ADs, editor, composer, singers , producer, etc to live upto his expectations and pull off such a beautiful film. All the best for his future endeavours.

It was more a discussion than an interview, I like the way Vineeth explained the feeling of each characters bringing all the characters to life . Music is a highlight , it's more soulful everytime you listen to it . I like the way the anchor was involved the conversation enhancing the details of the story.

Darshana’s character for any female audience is simple and easy to figure out but I get why BR wasn’t able to understand her. He was able to give himself and the other men watching this interview a closure on Darshana’s character but I’m disappointed that I couldn’t understand why ARUN chose to not pursue her after the interval train scene. I still didn’t get my closure for Arun’s character and his actions. BR, you could have helped us out here by asking more questions on Arun. BR and Vineeth being men could have helped women audience watching this interview understand Arun better :(

It is simple English. He is using . I know Vineet sreenivasan from my childhood. he has directed a lot of films as well as he is a good singer. His songs are very beautiful . When I heard "anuragathin velayill" in thattatin marayathu i feel like a romantic mood. His acting is very super. He is the son of old actor sreenivasan.

I just think that Mr. Bharadwaj Rangan has never been in love in his life ..
That's all about love. Sir .. Sometime our anger overtakes love .. But as time moves on anger vanishes and love stays .. That's irony of love .. And Hridayam movie has beautifully portrayed it through Darshana character .. Kudos to the Director ..
