    Thank you SO much for such an amazing tutorial! 🤗 Quick question: how long does it take to make one? I'm not much of a seamstress, but I'm trying to decide if I should make the cage accessories or buy them. I'm super cheap and would love to get my son crafty with this kind of stuff too, but I'm fairly busy with work at the moment and might not have the time. What kind of time vs. expenses trade-off is there? Thanks again!! 🙏🏽

    Tip/suggestion to anyone making this: After you get all sides complete, before you flip it rightside out, hand sew a piece for fabric all over the inside to cover most seems, and add some stuffing in there for stability. (will be testing it out though for my sugar gliders.)

    • @kaileyfrancis
      @kaileyfrancis  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      FingeGotMilk please don't use fraying stuffing such as wadding as it can wrap around limbs causing unwanted amputations. Also, if they eat it it can cause intestinal blockages.... please use fleece scraps as stuffing for more stability or just sew more layers

    • @imjustme9380
      @imjustme9380 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey! I suggest making a seamless cube! it may be very dangerous for gliders if stiches are seen :) after you flip the opening try sewing each part of the outside fabric to the outside opening together then all parts of the inside together. make sure to leave a little opening on one side of the outside cube to flip it :) make sure to sew the parts while all are facing the right side to right side. the stiches will be all hidden and you'll have no issue putting it together actually 😊 you can even trim a little of the inside fabric so the inside is smaller than the outside. that way It will not be bulky and fit perfectly :) I'm also making cage sets for my soon to be gliders 😊 it takes a lot of work all together haha

    • @kariheredia8284
      @kariheredia8284 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      inside? no. they're usually hard to see but you can lessen their appearence more if you only use an 1/8th inch seam allowance..

    • @carystone6141
      @carystone6141 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've seen it done with hidden seams inside. Just takes a little more time.

    • @EllBell13
      @EllBell13 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to make two separate cubes (one layer of fabric) and then put one inside the other with the seam parts together, then sew the open hole together. Or something like that! :-)
