You can make a case that in the last 10 yrs... Lecrae has been the most consistent rapper. All his bodies of work have been amazing
He has special talent.
Not to be too smart, but he's not the only one. I respect Lecrae, though. I first saw him on Sway In the Morning years ago. Besides Kendrick and Lecrae, Dave East is on that list for me, too. He's just not as big.
You're not wrong
@@RobMarkman Dee 1 responded too
He's answering kendricks question. I wonder what Lacrae would do? We need the Gospel to fight this fight with us. The industry and the world is in need of all help.
THIS and that’s exactly why he answered! I love it!
🫡
@@MiaMya396 he understood it was a perfect opportunity to spread the Gospel. ended the verse masterfully. Yin to the Yang.
@@niyimastermind100% and I’m glad he did. I listened to it this morning on my way to church! Never heard of
Him until then
Only the most high YAH these things must come to passed, and k dot stepping up to open the eyes of our people 😊
You responded just as fast as Lecrae did.😂 Love seeing these!🔥 He smoked that verse as well.
Hahahah. Word
Lecrae went in with this track
He did his thing
"Christ ain't watch the party die, he died instead of it". Beautiful ❤
I know Kendrick is proud of his friend lacrae responding back. I wouldn't be surprise if Kendrick brings him out.
Im loving how things are going back to how they used to be. I hope more people hop on the beat. Ransoms freestyle was fiiii
Yeah Ransom did his thing. Did you hear the Chaos Is My Ladder 2 yet?
@@RobMarkman Yup!! When I saw he posted the freestyle I immediately thought of Mid Life Crisis. It was really similar in content so this was right up his ally. Plus this beat sounds like Ransom type beat too. 🔥🔥🔥
Lecrae can really rap. Fire track
Facts
Even me always loved Lecrae and his energy I believe is really the best his music is just the best even with it needing more help from more but he is a soilder he lifts his cross to make music even with the high quality worldly art that to me overly distracts it's like the devil makes the best when it's in a Favorable moment but he will not Get Lecrae as long as he Clashes continually it's like God made him for me to get God spirit instantly tuned in also to eventually in heaven really slow down all the running I do because I should know more but I'm called with just as much work to do as these artists so I can't distract myself but I have more to hear
Rob once again with an unbiased take. Stay true to that is the follower count goes up and the deals come in over time. The game is starving for this.

Lecrae is a dope artist. I remember hearing that Church Clothes mixtape for the first time. ‘No Regrets’, ‘Rejects’ & ‘Misconceptions’ are a testament to Crae’s talent. Dude can rap rap.
Facts!!
Yes 1.1.SIX.?❤💯
Im not a christian but Andy Mineo is one of my favorite rappers. Dont sleep on them faith based dudes they go in. I like it cause the music is alot more positive.
Andy is my guy. Interviewed him mad times. He was in one of my music videos.
I love Andy.
Uno Uno Seis is a classic imo!
@@fresnoniiji Andy, Lecrae and KB 🙌🏾 but there are so many fire CHH rappers
@DonInADress havent heard alot of kb. Might have to check his catalog. Hulvey go hard too
Been a fan of yours since the to pimp a butterfly interview with kendrick 🤝🏽🇿🇦 Keep doing you bro 🙏🏽
I plan to. Thanks for riding out this long too
Thank you 🙏🏾 hope you and your family are well! “And Christ aint watch the party die he died instead of it”
Much love!!! We’re good. Hope you and yours are doing well too!
Great breakdown. Shout out to Lecrae. Shout out to Kendrick for this.
💯
Kendrick IS ! the new Stimulus 😂 He’s not of The Industry, instead He’s in Du Streets!…😂 waking’em 🆙
He slid on this song ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
It is not clout chasing at all! Lecrae is a humble person and him thinking whether he should reply or not says something already! Much love bro!
Lecrae honestly put together the most succinct and real delivery of the gospel I've ever heard on a rap track, and he's like 20 or so years into his career. Lecrae's music has always been gospel oriented but still super grounded.
I highly recommend his tracks Devil in Disguise, Walk With Me, Deja Vu, and Misconceptions 3.
Was waiting on this reaction.
Hope i didn’t keep you waiting too long
This is the kind of Hip Hop that I love. Artists putting their response in the music. I agree with you 100%!
🫡
This is what kendrick want, i love to see this, van from tde also respond, it's fire, now this kind of rapper need to come out more to spread the positivity of hiphop
I want to see all the lyrical artists jump on this beat. People need to see lyrics matter Kendrick has over 40 million views on this song in 3 days. These labels need to see a change is needed. A balance is required because our kids are doomed if we don't get a balance.
Imagine Lecrae and dee.1 perform at the Superbowl with Kendrick Lamar.
I really liked it. Thank you so much for this video today I really needed it
Wow. I’m glad. Thanks for receiving it
I appreciate your point of views and your ability to break shit down! You’re one of the ones who’s not bias about nothing and you just keep it a buck! Keep up the great work. And its a plus you from ny too so u just get it lol #blessup
Much love!!! I appreciate you tuning in and dropping this comment. Means a lot
Superbowl callob we didn't know we needed...
🤔🤔🤔
WE NEED THE LECRAE DOT COLLAB
Dope video! Lecrae is majorly slept on. It's dope that you helping to shed some light 💯
I appreciate his art. Also wanna be real. Hes a Grammy winner. Highly successful. He’s not small time or nothing
I disagree. Lecrea had been at it for 20 years. What Kendrick is ti mainstream is what Lecrea is in Christian Hip Hop, he's a legend now.
hip hop is alive
💙
Lecrae is a building block of my music listening when I was in highschool. I even saw him live in concert when I was a Freshman! Kendrick shouting him out was a throwback for me lol
Loved the new track, Lecrae killed it!
No Jesus died for it All Sin to die
I’m in no position to argue any interpretation of the Bible
One day a rapper is going to drop something and be like ‘What would Rob Markman think?’ Love your analysis bro
Ahaha imagine that! Thanks fam!!
Thank you so much for those analysis and breakdowns. Big blessings and much respect!
Respect. Thank you for watching
Dope channel appreciate the work keep grinding
Thank you. Will do!!!
11:20 Let's GOOOOOO. Love the confidence and you can back it up too!!!!!
I’m sayin!!!!!!
Anyone that’s ever heard Lecrea’s music knows he went into his church clothes 1 bag for that Kendrick response! Need more of that Lecrea
Gospel music is the most soulful music that touches your heart. Even when I stopped going to church and denied God’s existence, I stilled listened to gospel music. Heck it, along with getting older and gaining more wisdom, led me back to God. If you grew up in a soulful church, especially southern, you can’t escape the greatness of this music.

That Uriah Bathsheba line was so 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I didn’t get that totally due to my ignorance. Break it down for me
@@RobMarkman Uriah in the Bible was in King David’s army and married to a beautiful woman called Bathsheba. King David saw Bathsheba and wanted to have her for himself so he ensured that Uriah was killed in battle so he could take his wife. David had Uriah blood on his hands and essentially wasn’t acting like a Man of God, taking for himself what wasn’t his. So I’m guessing Lecrae is alluding to some sexual sin or lust in his past and using this story to say that he hasn’t always been a good and holy man
Beautiful display of duality between the two. ❤
This is so dope. As a fellow Faith-based rapper who makes secular music, it was really dope to see you cover this where it made sense and the overlap hit perfectly.
Big ups to Lecrae for making a solid move in this situation. Verse was mad dope, and I felt it was appropriate.
I hope this also brings some more light to the work that Crae has been doing because his catalogue is SOLID.
I also really dug how you broke down the lyrics on this one. I often cringe heavy when I see secular content creators breaking down Christian works, because they often get the culture or the scripture 100% wrong. Lol It's like when Ben Shapiro tries to break down rap. They just don't get it. But I could tell you've at least swam in those waters even though you said you weren't versed in "all the scriptures."
As always, I appreciated your approach bro. I'm a Pastor actually, and my lead Pastor who's my best friend and I are both hip-hop heads, so this situation is giving us something dope to talk about on our podcast.
I love this ❤
I’m so glad this has sparked a conversation about the messages being pushed in music today!
Thank you Kendrick.
Lecrae did his big one 🙏🏾🔥
The fact that you from Flatbush made me follow you I'm from East New York
Yessir!!!! I used to hang out by Pennsylvania Ave a lot, my man had a studio set up in the crib
11:20 TALK THAT TALK 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
😤😤😤😤
Seeing this title and the opposite color forces made me nervous. I'm unfamiliar w/ Lecrae, only heard he's a spiritual spitter..
I was just was hoping he didn't say anything that could even sound/look like shade/smoke for our beloved Dot.
Few mins after hearing it-
*nods.. Okay, I'm calm and settled now. I respect it and appreciate him deciding to add to the convo in a meaningful way. This was a nice intro to him. Salute.🫡
Nah. That’s not his energy.
I know it seems everyone has is out to get Kendrick, However in this case it not one. Kendrick and Lecrae have love and respect for each other.
Thank you both for sharing that. This breakdown made me find the track to hear his full effect. I'm relieved I was wrong and sad the last couple months have me on Dot Defense🤦🏽♀️
2:00 there's another theory that this is a continuation of K Dot's untitled album
I guess we’ll have to wait and see
No disrespect my guy but historically Saturday is actually the sabbath.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m not the most religious and devote. No disrespect taken either. I’m a work in progress. Thanks for pointing it out.
not to many christians
preach 🙏 🙏 🙏
How's that relevant to the topic?
@RobMarkman your welcome my guy like you I'm also a work in progress brother but it takes iron to sharpen iron.
Lecrae is so underrated. Respect to Rob for showing love
🫡
I wonder what Rob would do
Respect 🎉
Much love
I love this. Lecrae represents MLK and K-Dot represents Malcom X. History in the making of Hip hop. All things can be used to God's glory.
" I should be choosin’ between Howard and Hampton" that line still confuses me.. Like I'm guessing it's Fred Hampton but who's Howard?
For biblical context when he mentions Bathsheba and Uriah…it refers to king David who had relations with Bathsheba after watching her bathe herself. She was married to Uriah who was at war for Israel at the time…and when she resulted pregnant king David tried to make her sleep with Uriah to cover up the adultery and when that failed he sent Uriah to the front lines where he met his death… leaving blood on David’s hands… King David was a faithful servant of god for the most part except for this Sin… but God forgave him after he truthfully repented… Lecrae relates to him as he has his own troubled past but has now repented and drawn himself close to God. And satan being the one who offered eve the fruit that resulted in the pain and suffering that ended up affecting all of humanity today…lecrae basically saying he contributed or did partake in some bad things before finding his way…Very interesting imagery from lecrae
Wow. Thanks for that. I needed that context.
Really enjoy your content and honesty man! keep it up
Yeah u the realest
WE THE REALEST!!
Kendrick Lamar is a Christian rapper 🙏🏼✝️. John 3:16, Romans 10:9
These videos are gems I be watchin em back 10x 😂😂 I really fw this mark I would def tune into the long form content but the quick 20-30 min vids are 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes i be feeling like 20 mins is too long but maybe I’m overthinking. Thank you.
You have a beautiful platform 🔥🔥 keep it up
Wow. Thank you. Means a lot. “Beautiful platform” isn’t your average compliment. I appreciate it
If y'all like Lecrae. You should check out Aaron Cole. He's like the Christian rap version of Drake.
Dope track, I remember hearing Nas telling Cole “you made Nas Proud”. It’s hip hop if your name mentioned people want to know why you think.
I enjoyed the thoughtful breakdown and critique of the song! 💯💪🏾
I'm going to have to check your guy out sounds like he has some sick word play.
Nah he can rap tho.
People who aren’t familiar with Lecrae or his history with Kendrick may feel like he’s clout chasing, but Kendrick didn’t mention him for nothing. Kendrick obviously respects him and values his work, so why not keep the conversation going on wax? That’s how it’s supposed to be.
You aint perfect Rob, always disagree with you lol... but noone ever says Rob Markman is an asshole. I never heard it.... that says something in the internet age. Lecrae perfectly matched Dots verse... dot is wrestling with his intrusive thoughts, Lecrae mirrors that back in his own way without being preachy
They need to bring both versions together. Thank you, kendrick. People missing the pac coming out of kendrick . Think about how pac was touching the world. Until his own people took him out. Kendrick picked up where pac left off
I believe watch the party die is the “Gemini” in Kendrick, while he’s entertaining “us” (Kendrick) with They not like us…watch the party die is what he really feeling inside so this is more Jekyll version of the Hyde version which is “they not like us.”
I believe Kendrick is very much the villain or devil in this story. Lecrae has offered and shown the path of the Righteous and I believe Kendrick will reject it and continue down his path of destruction.
its "fake deep gurus"
not google
Ahhhh. True
Flatbush, what up Rob!! Church Avenue!! Salute 🫡
Sadderday merch spotted
Yessir. Shout out to Bills
Go check out Hulvey if you want to hear more positive vibes from a faith based rapper
My brotha! Incredible take! Keep gliding and guiding out here!!
As a fan of Lecrae, I was excited to see that he decided to respond. The response is in his wheelhouse while still being accessible to all.
“Christ ain’t watch the party die, he died instead of it.” Is one the hardest bars in hip hop Christian or not. That response was crazy
I like "faith based rapper" but I like emcee better... Great take nonetheless
The concept of this channel is amazing! Because things are constantly happening and moving and your opinions/observations are both respected and needed!
Thank you for tuning in!!
I've been listening to secular Rap since the 80s and Christian Rap since the 90s. I've always preferred Christian Rap because I don't care to hear the profane language in secular Rap even when the content is positive. I'm hoping that with Kendrick give cats like Lecrae and Dee-1 a shout out it will open the doors for more Christian emcees to get more mainstream recognition and play from the masses. And I'm not a Christian. I just have always loved and appreciated them making thought-provoking content without the N-word or profane language.
💙
Dope break down bro. It's refreshing to have a bar break down with no filler, thats uplifting and Also Dope. The sub genre Chh has been around for decades. And like any other genre you have wack, good, and Dope artists.. The genre Has some Great Pens in it.. Lecrae did a helluva job with this response. Could've took the angle a bunch of ways to glorify himself, but He kept it Jesus.. That Uriah and Bathsheeba bar was 🔥 (2nd Samuel 11: 1-17)
👍👍👍
Bring Lacrae to the Super Bowl
Would be a surprise. I doubt it. But we really never know what dot will do
I remember your voice from that Wiz tape. Definitely been n the game amin great hip hop interviewer. Keep grinding
Thank you !!!
@@RobMarkman 💯🤞🏾
Rob, can you believe it's some ppl out here saying this a k dot diss? smh.🤦🏾 It's crazy out here.
I didn’t say anyone saying that, thankfully lol.
That’s wild
This Response Touched My Soul 😌
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Lecrea's debut 'Real Talk' , that album changed Christian Hip Hop. I'm 38 and I've been rocking with Crea for 20 years and it's great to see the impact he's having in mainstream spaces.
💯
I’m still waiting on the still 😂
If Kendrick in Lecrae video? I goofed and forgot to put it in the edit.
Hip hop conservatism.
I truly enjoyed you’re Commentary and I am now a subscriber!!
I appreciate that. Welcome
Great analysis
Thank you.

Jesus is King
The Lord’s day is saturday, not sunday big bro we have to get back to our true heritage as the Israelites. Kendrick is just talkin about he isn’t living it and that isn’t enough, that does more damage than help.
I got a question why is the music Lecrae does called Christian or faith based and not just rap or hip hop? Where as people like da baby or NBA young boy is just called rap or hiphop.
You just answered your question. You can’t straddle the fence by rapping about Jesus then booty next week. That’s why it’s a clear distinction in music.
@@MiaMya396 my point is that the other rappers music is not called gun music or rachet rap
We do call some artists trap, drill, conscious…. To me it’s either good or bad music. But we do have sub categories and genres.

Ive never been so sure about this statement....We need a Dot and Crae album..that would be fire!
