I grew up with Camp coffee 😀I was born in 63 and I reckon by the time I was 6 ish I was drinking camp coffee 😮I also remember my mum and nanna using it to make coffee icing. It is indeed chicory root 😀I also love Ovaltine but I like the one you get in a tin that you make with milk, it’s similar to Horlicks, I also have a bit of sugar in it. As for the delivery problems I can understand your frustration, it’s hard to live without a freezer as I found out when I had to wait three weeks for one, luckily it was a really cold winter so I put my milk and butter outside in a box. I also had a similar problem when my boiler broke and needed replacing, the heating company I first picked messed me around so much I told them to cancel the whole thing and I would find some one else. It was quite funny that when they realised they were losing nearly £3000 they suddenly had the boiler and were able to fit it straight away but I thought tough I don’t trust you now so I went to with someone else and they were brilliant with really good customer service. I know it’s not popular or nice to have to get grumpy with people but sometime that’s the only way these people do anything. I think the reason why us quieter people get pushed to the back is because they are busy dealing with those who shout louder 😀
My Grandmother used to drink Camp Coffee, I bought a bottle a few years ago. It tasted awful. So had to throw it away. Brings back memories of when I lived with her in the 1970s. Great memories.

Hi Vivi. I'm happy to report this time that you had a commercial ad in the beginning, one at the end and five ads in the middle of your video!! Yay! I think there may have just been a glitch with TH-cam for a few days perhaps? Or maybe in certain demographics because I know another person commented on my comment last time that they saw ads. Who knows but I'm happy the ads are back for you. It's funny because I loved Ovaltine as a child, I wonder if I would now. I'm thinking I would because I love coffee ☕. As an adult I also love black licorice tea.... yummy!! My ex husband turned me onto it, so he actually was good for something after all. Lol 😂🤣😆 I really hope you get your freezer soon. It's very difficult not having that type of an appliance, especially when you eat all of your meals at home. My refrigerator and freezer went out in the middle of summer one time. Our weather was around 113°F / 45°C; unbearable and it was during COVID. Since there were so many delays during that time, it took over a month to get. I felt horrible because I had tenants living with me then. So, I completely understand how you must be feeling. Thanks for a list of good books you really enjoyed. I'm heading to the library in a few days. 👍
Whats strange about the fiction book is that my great-grandmother was actually taken to an orphanage and grew up in Southern Arizona near Mexico border, ran by Nuns and made a good life for herself selling her food, she bought property up Northern Arizona, married, had 5 sons and did well for herself...interesting

How frustrating about the freezer and the trainers and not very good customer service from either company. Hope the freezer is sorted out on the new day you’ve been given. Love that Camp Coffee sign. I use it in coffee cakes and also make iced milk coffee which I think is delicious. My Mum always had it in our food cupboard in the 1970’s and the history of that time you mentioned now explains why. Nice chatty catch up.

I love Horlicks and Ovaltine drinks but over the years the ingredients have changed and it is more chemical than in my childhood. A natural malty drink can be achieved with maca root and other such ingredients. You get the malty taste but with better ingredients. My body does not do well with artificial sweeteners. Bought a couple of beautiful lavender bags. I am so looking forward to seeing the beauties. If I had noticed the fungi book before going through checkout that would have been purchased as well. When will TH-cam ever offer Smell-o-Vision? I can just imagine the delightful smell in your flat as you were pressing your linens, combined with the aroma of all those lavender bags. Thank you for another lovely visit to your cottage in the sky. It was a relief to take my mind away from the tragedy unfolding here in the US as the fires rage in California. I liked Ovaltine as a child but it was presented as a special, rare treat. As an adult...thumbs down for me too. Hoping this is a delayed video and the freezer has been delivered. And if not, crossing fingers for a good delivery experience for you finally.
Thank you lovely....yes, the flat smelled gorgeous with hot linen and lavender. I'm just catching up on the news of the fires.....utterly horrifying! 😢
You are not alone Vivi! Those trolls who exclaim "oh get a grip it's only an appliance delivery" have obviously not been in your position. I really can't understand their mentality, how inconsiderate and thoughtless some human beings can be! Regarding your refund, I find companies these days aren't bothered about customer service, and you rightly pointed out about the interest on the money they receive from customers... it's all about profit and beggar the customer! Life these days is so out of touch with everyday living IMO. Ovaltine always reminds me of being a patient in hospital... and later working on the wards in the evening... Happy Days 😊
You should of asked to speak to someone who could of waved the fee as there is always someone who has the ability or ask to put in a complaint and tell them you want a refund of the delivery fee, it can be done. By the way I bought my lavender bag, I got one about 4 years ago and the scent is still going strong. Heather
Another great video Vivi, even your long video's are not long enough for me lol. A friend has just given me a copy of Secret life of Trees , so really looking forward to reading that & I will do my best to track dowm Indian Horse.... even though I desperately would like to read it I may not be able to - (you know what I mean) ;-( Thank you Vivi, enjoy your day Vivi : 0)
I bought a couple of Liberty fabric lavender bags two years ago….they need refilling with fresh lavender. Any ideas where would be a good place to buy it from? Ignore the trolls….they are sad individuals with nothing nice to say. I lost two freezers worth after the last storm and was absolutely gutted. Hope yours gets sorted asap x
It is soooo gutting to lose all that food (and the hours spent cooking it!). I don't know of anywhere specifically to buy lavender from (the luxury of having one's own plants) but there are probably lots of companies offering organic, dried lav on the internet. 😊
Also, I used to drink ovaltine in cold milk, relishing the crunchy granules that didn't dissolve and rose to the top. I really don't think those packaged drinks do any food justice. I drink cocoa, but make it from scratch with real milk, cocoa powder and just enough sugar for my taste. More nourishing, better tasting and fewer calories than a packet of processed powder!
Don’t like ovaltine or camp coffee…yuk yet find Horlicks delicious! Hang on in there for the delivery …what a Trial but=well done for keeping calm. I’m surprised you don’t sit when ironing as I know it’s a killer on the back and knees otherwise 🙄😵💫😵💫😵💫
the one you have is not original viv the original you make with all milk not water how ever if you make it use water at just below boiling point same with the 2 in 1 instant coffee never use boiling water with Coffee creamers it destroys the taste ❤
'That' company turned up at my doorstep..... walked out with my old appliance ( washer )... then after about 10 minutes rooting about in the back of the lorry and several phone calls... said the warehouse hadn't loaded my new one.... so It was booked for the following morning... blokes turned up, in a rush and then when I reminded them they needed to fit and demo... they had no tools... I had to lend them my tools and then they damaged it ( dent in the front ) when trying to get it under the worktop... To be fair to the company, they didn't have another machine and they refunded the fitting costs and reduced the machine to half price.... I'm just like you ..jinxed so frustrating
I don´t have a smart phone either, just a dumb one😀. My phone cost 73 pounds 4 years ago and it cost me 7 pounds a month to call and send messages, i´m pleased with that. They say that it is something going on, some young people is starting to get tired of their smarts phones and want simple ones. I have my computer that I use to pay my bills with and bank id that we need for a lot of things in Sweden. "1984" is here now, little late.
My little story re deliveries: I don't order online very often and have never had any problems, apart from once. I was expecting a couple of very small parcels that would probably fit in the letterbox, and one day there was a single tiny parcel there and also a quickly scribbled note on an Australia Post card, which said "Parcel in post box". A bit unnecessary, I thought, since the card sat on top of the parcel, but hey-ho! However, weeks/months later, the other parcel still hadn't turned up (from overseas). Then the water heater suddenly stopped working so I went to the meter box for a squiz, and *there was the second, slightly larger parcel!!* The kind postie didn't want it left sticking out of the letterbox, so popped it safely away and left a card that *should've* said "Parcel in METER box" 😮🙄😝
You really are so industrious, you put me to shame. I am a little older than you and do as much of the tasks in my home and garden tasks myself. I also cook from scratch, prep and freeze food to preserve as much as I can.
Some people have nothing better to do than give nasty comments and I can assure you I would be fuming you are a better person than me I would now be threatening them with a very bad review and also tell them that I would be putting it all over Facebook warning people about the bad service that you have recieved you will be very surprised as they will then fall over there selves to correct there mistake s I know because I have done this. So if they do let you down again do this! Goodluck anyway Vivi I wish you well x Elaine
You have every reason to be frustrated. This delivery situation is not acceptable, but sadly, not uncommon. You HAPPEN to work from home but what if you did work somewhere else and had taken off work to wait for these people? You aren't alone, but that doesn't make it right. I have taken off work in the past for companies that never showed up. This cannot work well for the delivery people, either. They just do as they are directed. It is past time for companies to take responsibility for their business.

Hear, hear re profits and to heck with the customers!
Wil you grow lavender in your new garden? Ovaltine with milk not water.. I love it! 😋
I may do. 😊
I liked Ovaltine on ice cream because it tasted malted I don't really do much dairy anymore though.
Ooooh!
You should of asked to speak to someone who could of waved the fee as there is always someone who has the ability or ask to put in a complaint and tell them you want a refund of the delivery fee, it can be done. By the way I bought my lavender bag, I got one about 4 years ago and the scent is still going strong. Heather
Aww, that's lovely to hear, thank you.
hello love you channel you talk about your shop where is your shop please
The link to it is in the 'read more' bit below the video title. 😊
I totally understand....but I hope you can find a copy. x
💖💖💖
Norfolk lavender farms.
I actually enjoyed camp coffee! Had it with hot milk and a pinch of brown sugar. (Just don't think of it as actual coffee!)
Yum! 😊
I hope I like the Horlicks more than the Ovaltine. 😉
I’m the other way, I love Ovaltine but hate Horlicks.
Forgot to say I really like the metal advert which would look great in your new kitchen perhaps 🙃
the one you have is not original viv the original you make with all milk not water
how ever if you make it use water at just below boiling point
same with the 2 in 1 instant coffee never use boiling water with Coffee creamers it destroys the taste ❤
Argh!!!! It's all so infuriating isn't it? GRRRR!
you ever get that tap you were waiting to be delivered or a refund?
I got a refund....after about 6 weeks!
Vivi may I ask what the print is on the wall.
The one to my right? It's a poster from a Quentin Blake exhibition.
🌸🥰
I don´t have a smart phone either, just a dumb one😀. My phone cost 73 pounds 4 years ago and it cost me 7 pounds a month to call and send messages, i´m pleased with that. They say that it is something going on, some young people is starting to get tired of their smarts phones and want simple ones. I have my computer that I use to pay my bills with and bank id that we need for a lot of things in Sweden. "1984" is here now, little late.
Three cheers for our dumb phones! 😉
Wobbly willies to the trolls as Paul would say .
Hahahaha....perfick. 😉
🤣
Oh bless 'em for trying to keep it safe. 😊
My daughter would love that apron, she loves bees. But I don’t have a way to send you the money for it.
I do everything via PayPal.....but in any case it actually just sold, sorry.
@@WhatVivididnext So happy to hear it sold. It was adorable.
Wait, your freezer delivery made you pay again after failing to delivery the first time?
That cannot be right.
No, not pay again.....I hadn't paid that part on the first delivery......now waiting for delivery number three....
You have a right to be upset. Who cares what trolls have to say.
Thank you.
You really are so industrious, you put me to shame. I am a little older than you and do as much of the tasks in my home and garden tasks myself. I also cook from scratch, prep and freeze food to preserve as much as I can.
Good stuff lovely. 😊
💜⭐️💜
Always wanted to be an ovaltinee
Some people have nothing better to do than give nasty comments and I can assure you I would be fuming you are a better person than me I would now be threatening them with a very bad review and also tell them that I would be putting it all over Facebook warning people about the bad service that you have recieved you will be very surprised as they will then fall over there selves to correct there mistake s I know because I have done this. So if they do let you down again do this! Goodluck anyway Vivi I wish you well x Elaine
Thanks lovely.
Hear, hear!
Terrible what happened to the First Nation children taken away from their families and culture too.
Truly appalling. 😢😡
