Fr, eating healthy is expensive, that's just what it is. This reminds me of Dave Chappelle"s bit on him not knowing what juice was, he only knew of grape drink. Sugar, water, purple.
I don't understand why she poured a bag of sugar and then placed fruit on the side... and then threw everything on the ground. Probably one of the worst demonstrations I've ever seen.
I would have liked to have heard if the food was approved by nutritionists and paediatricians. Healthy baby food is very easy to make, health conscious parents that would buy this premium product would probably just make their own.
If you were wondering on how Fresh Bellies is doing now: they use to be in a hundred stores, now they’re in over 4,000 stores. Their main product now are crunchy snacks for toddlers, preschoolers and adults. They’re making way more money now because of the change and has been advertised in popular shows like The Today Show. You can find them in plenty of stores like Target, Sprouts, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Kroger.
After the Shark Tank pitch, Sorrosa moved Fresh Bellies out of the refrigerated baby food market and decided to focus exclusively on crunchy snacks, which was a very good move for Fresh Bellies. Company now has over $6 million sales per year
I think it is true about taste at a very young age. In other countries when people move away they crave their native taste again which is usually vegetable and spices not sugars.
It’s all very fine on paper but if the parents aren’t eating a clean diet they aren’t going to buy healthy food for their children. Educated conscious parents will automatically eat healthy themselves and make food for their children without buying expensive prepared foods.
How many educated parents do you know that even have time to make food for themselves let alone their kids? Its about convenience - if there's no market for this, there would be no market for door dash, ubereats or healthy frozen foods
@@debfryer2437 Maybe so. But its a fact that many households have 2 busy working parents and it is not always convenient to prepare food from scratch. There's a market regardless of wether you think there should be one or not.
Obviously this is the US where food wastage is not a big deal. For the poor and those in low-income countries, this is incredibly painful to watch. Can Shark Tank please instruct its contestants to stop wasting food? Every other food-related pitch has food being thrown on the floor. How is this a mission to improve food habits if you waste food?
Bad logic. Sugar is incredibly addictive- it’s not the taste of it; though that is pleasant. Vegetables are made of carbs, which is still sugar. A vegetable based diet will still lead to sugar cravings in the future.
To me I think people are just too lazy for their kids so people like that make products like this to convince the parents that this is the right option though it is not it is more expensive to buy such a product and make something at your house it is just a rip-off. We all know people survived on the bare minimum and others are more wealthy but one thing can be said you can grow your own vegetables almost anywhere some Farms will let you grab some of their crops for a cheap price if you are in a bad area. You can you use half a tomato to grow your own tomato plant same with berries lemon and limes pineapple and other fruits add vegetables like that
@1violalass that's not what I was getting at. Growing your own produce is cheap and easy which is good for those that can't afford products like this every single day when they could just make it at home themselves for a fraction of the cost
This is what a person who doesn't want to share their business looks like. It would be worth asking her for 1 million and give 30%, and with the size of the investment and global sales, she would have enough money.
Baby change what they like so fast. My kids hates egg one day then they like it the next, loves some veggie then hate it later. Sounds like a rich people issue
I was a very poor 18 year old single mum. I bought fresh veges and mashed them for my baby. Combined with breast feeding for a year it was a cheap healthy diet.
waste of money when there’s so many Make At Home products out there these days. God only knows how long that food sits on the shelves before someone buys it.
Ahhh so difficult nowadays.. just make meals for the family and some with less spices, blend it and give to baby. No allergies and no problems trying new foods later on ! Ta da 🎉
"Lower income household bear the greatest percentage of obesity" -> yes, this is exactly why capitalism, entrepreneurship and whatnot cannot possible change societal issues. Poor people can't afford healthy food, no matter how you slice it it's going to be more expensive and no company can solve this. You need global policies for that to make sure lower income is not so low that you can't take care of yourself and regulation to forbid unfair competition that sell literately death on bottle dead cheap and saturate the market with their junk leaving no space for the actual good options out there. The price is too high. Low income families can’t afford it unfortunately they will go the cheaper route which is the baby food with lots of sugar. If you really want to combat child obesity lower the price from the start.
It's definitely a catch-22. The people who can afford it also have the lowest rates of obesity. The people who can't afford it have the highest rates of obesity.

Overeating high sugary fruits like banana is not healthy also, high consumption of fructose leads to weigh gain also
