Great video. So glad to see your son’s enthusiasm for the game. Believe it or not you barely scratched the surface when it comes to the amount of science behind bowing ball selection and drilling. Would make a great science fair topic should your son feel so inclined.
The guy in the shop seemed like he really knew what he was doing lol. I walked in they measured my hand which took all of 30 seconds and I was on my way.
My son wanted to join the city baseball team and finding the right bat and glove for him was very interesting. I told him to find a glove that fit well and he can close well. He picked 4 different ones. An employee came up and asked him questions about what position he was playing and what not. I took a step back and just listened to the guy. Prior to him showing interest in joining a team, we just got any ol glove from walmart and played catch in the back yard.....then he got into shooting bows and guns so baseball took a seat until now. And the science behind it is amazing. When I played 35 or more years ago, We just brought our own glove. Everything else was just there. Bats, helmets, catcher gear. Ok so we got a glove he felt good about and now to get a bat. Again with the questions. What league are you in? How tall are you? etc etc....they made him use 4 bats and the guy was so patient with him. He even made him try the bat standing opposite of his natural swing. I thought that was pretty interesting. He wanted to make sure he was using his dominate side. I was blown away. Holy cow. If you want a rabbit hole, google the science behind frisbee golf. Its amazing. lol take care.
No topically they take max 20 minutes to make on spot unless there’s like 80 people making balls it’s usually very fast all they do is take a brand new ball out of the box and drill it right there in front of you. It’s pretty fun to watch!👍🏻
