I don't remember how much was adapted to the show, but the general idea is that he was a big fanboy before he becoming Reverse Flash, that means he obsessed not just with The Flash himself but with everything around his life, he even said it so, he wanted to BE him--- and have the things he had, the team, the wife and etc... Just imagine reading about this person your whole life, of course he would fantasize and romanticize the woman that was by his side, I guess that explains why Eobard always seemed a bit more nicer when around her (and nora, omg. saying she's like a daughter to him, holy cow.) also how proud he is when saying that she is HIS lightning rod now. It's interesting, creepy, but interesting. Great video.
The only other arrowverse shows I watched were Arrow and Supergirl and I don’t recall any of the villains being creeps towards the female leads of those shows. I think it’s a thing specifically with The Flash. I understand Iris is gorgeous but a lot of this is creepy.
It's what happens when the hero has ONE love interest (looking at you, Oli.) Just look at the comics with Lois being the target, or Gwen (replaced by Mary Jane after The Fall)
Out of all of them I feel the most bad for Eddie he died only for the guy he that he thought he could kill come back to life, the guy he thought of as a friend and died for took his girl, and was basically forgotten
It kinda brings up the scenario of if I die would you marry someone else? Once your partners dies, there’s no “taking”. It’s not like they expected him to come back to life.

Only Grant as Savitar could make you feel for him, for sure he was a dickhead but love and hate are so close it's hard to tell which one is which... Grant did an amazing job at this.
I think Thawne understood something the others didn't about Iris. Iris is the thing Barry is running to if you have Barry life you need someone to run to. Iris was the only thing thawne could think of that he could run to. Maybe we never see how nice Iris was to Thawne. Barry was actually very creepy when Iris was with Eddie and when she dated that editor. We just gave him a pass but many of the ways he behaved were not cool since Iris didn't draw boundaries and he considered Eddie a friend.
I never felt like Barry was Eddie's friend. Eddie thought they were but it was one-sided. Barry was friendly with Eddie for the sake of Iris and Joe but he wasn't his friend. He had no loyalty to him whatsoever. Eddie was forcing the friendship.

Iris is so unlucky to be an object of affection to many villains, especially Thawne (who is 100 years older than he looks since he's from the future). Believe it or not, Iris attracted even more villains than Caitlin who at least had two villains pining after her (Zoom in season 2 and Deathstorm in season 8). The fact that Eddie is Thawne's ancestor and they both showed interest in Iris makes it even more bizarre
