Oh, I love this! What a great day...I met them on this day in Orange County at a record store....those were amazing times with ridiculously talented bands and radio still meant everything, especially in SoCal with KROQ and 91X. Still love Spandau Ballet...30 years on, we are!

I went to school a few miles away south of KROQ, in Alhambra High School. KROQ was a small yet large radio station in a small building in Pasadena on Los Robles. When this was taking place at KROQ, a girl from art class named Shirley Vasconez went to KROQ and waited outside for the band to arrive and leave. she took photos of Spandau as they were being mobbed by fans, including her. She showed me the photos of the band. 32 years ago that has passed so quickly. Might as well been a million years ago. I bet Shirley still has those pictures.
James - Happy to get your comment. I'm the Director who asked them the questions for Discovery Music Network. I went to San Gabriel High and know Alhambra and Pasadena well. We taped that around May of 1985. They were really hot then. I taught at PCC also, and knew a lot of the folks at KROQ. Discovery Music Network was a "failed" attempt to compete with MTV. Hola, no creo q entiendan el español pero bueno voy a intentar dejar mi comentario q es breve. No conozco de nada a estos chicos pero en la cara de cada uno se ve como son. Tony Hadley es simplemente encantador , tiene un ángel en la cara que destaca de sus compañeros. Su voz natural es preciosa, su mirada es dulce , ay que buena persona se ve. Su compañero parece simpático. Y no hace falta comprobar quién llevaba el mando en la banda (el Sr Gary kemp).
