I’ve never replaced a water pump on a 2017 Chevy Express 2500 Commercial Cargo Van until now! I watched your video 4-5 times. Also watched one other that was 1/3 the length of yours. I replaced the water pump, the thermostat, & the hoses myself. Being a licensed HVAC/R for 14 yrs. I knew I could tackle a water pump. It works and it’s keeping it kool. Watching this guy do the repair I knew I could too. Thanks. Saved me a bunch of $$
Thanks for the video. I have an 08 with, surprisingly, 199,000 miles. They must do an awesome job on the longevity of the water pump. But can't complain first issue for me since new, way better than the Fords!
A totally complete description on how to do this for my 2004 GMC Savana van 2500. Shop quoted me $550. Bought the pump from Rock Auto for $140. While at it put on a new belt for the AC. New serpentine belt, tensioner too. I did a real good job purging the radiator and the cabin heater radiator too.

Video helped. Thank you Water pump came with paper gasket for thermostat housing I chose not to use. The hardest part about my job was the old water pump paper gaskets were baked on to the block it was a pain removing them took me along time for right side.
On my 06, the lower rad hose at the radiator didn’t have a clamp, they use those clips so I found it easier to put the drain pan under the engine and disconnect the lower rad hose at the thermostat. Hope this helps guys with earlier vans
Wow...awesome video, you make it look easy...I am about to attempt this repair plus the high pressure power steering hose...have 199,500 miles on my van. First repairs required.
I ended up drilling a hole in my water pump pulley and sticking a Phillips head screwdriver through it. Fan clutch screwed right off. I wasted an hour or two trying other options. The new water pump comes with a new pulley.
Bro I was working on the van for 5 days straight it was hard to take out but I went the store to get belts it the wrong size they gave me 5 then I went to nap store they gave me right size and then put everything back to gather started the engine it purrs
Too much talk not enough Seating it'll still leak Because of settlings Just tight those nuts/bolts till they are well tighten to appoint where they will no longer turn... According to my torque methods other then his I'll hire him to do work for me...

what ar ethe hoses at 8:56 connected to? I have a connector that broke going towards the rear from those hoses
