I have to give it to Randy. He’s a lot stronger than I am. I mean in order to deStank someone you need to destroy the thing they hold most dear and to me that’s a very personal treasure which if it were me as the ninja I’d do nothing but hesitate as I don’t like destroying other peoples belongings. But Randy showed that had the guts to destroy their most treasured belongings for the greater good. And if that’s not a sign of a strong willed person than I don’t know what is.

I did some research and found out that the flowers that Randy gives to Theresa to destank her are red and pink tulips which apparently means "a declaration of love", which I think is a cute way of showing that Randy is aware of her feelings for him and that he most likely feels the same way.

Fowler x Cunningham is and was bound to happen onscreen, if the show wasn’t cut short. Seriously all those interactions are definitely foreshadowing!
and it also feels that Theresa will have a huge alleviated role after the 2 seasons. Dammit how come I was so oblivious back when I was watching this show? The co-creators can at least draw some continuations online even if they’re not gonna be on tv.
PS: I feel that she’ll respect Randy even after she knows who he is, this seems to be the direction the staff are aiming for
Honestly, I had a headcanon that there were counterparts to the Ninja… And that potentially Theresa would end up with one of these counterparts ninja powers (an idea that came to mind was a flute that doubled as a baton like Suzume from Mini Ninjas). For the first couple of episodes neither she nor Randy would be aware that the other is The Ninja or “Miss Ninja” (Randy’s nickname for the mysterious newcomer)

Are you sure about debbie? She tried to exposed randy's identity once and that led to mcfist sending robot to hunt down and kill him especially endangering other students to get to him.

And I'm sure if Randy actually tried to tell her _why_ she can't just reveal his identity to the entire town rather than just saying "you can't tell anyone :(" (like yk, the whole "I will get killed when I'm most vulnerable and Norrisville will lose the only hero it has" might shut her up. I highly doubt she'd turn a blind eye to Randy possibly dying either). Debbie is a good foil to Howard, much like Theresa is to Randy - whenever the four are on screen we get some of the most fun interactions in the show, and the girls are a nice counter to the boys' stupidity

Her and randy are definitely one my top favorite ships in cartoon series. Its refreshing to see a random girl who isnt part of the main cast have a crush on the main character instead of the other way around, and it wasnt a one time thing either, their relationship was shown throughout the series and it was definitely not one sided. Its not the "oh they finally realized their feeling towards each other at the end of the series" type of thing and i love it (altho the show's sudden stop is really sad, it never had a proper ending)

Oof, that screentime hurts my soul. Theresa is barred from none of the most underutilized characters of the entire show.
If anyone is ever wondered why Theresa is so popular or why Randy is shipped so hard with her, it's a relatively simple reason. Theresa out of the entire cast brings out the absolute best of Randy & his heroism as The Ninja. There's a reason why she's one of the most popular characters in the show. Unfortunately, unlike Jullian, they never really did anything with her. :/
If I'm being entirely honest, I still don't know if Theresa was supposed to be Randy's love interest from the get-go. Especially since her screentime is so abysmally small.
I still can't believe how many people caught that Randy never actually harm Theresa even when she tanked. Very impressive.
Last thing Imma say about Theresa. After the episode "Debbie Meddle", I always had a headcanon that Theresa finally put the 2 together about Randy & Debbie actually gave her the footage about Randy revealing himself as the ninja before outing him in the entire school. Granted, that's probably get debunked hard since she still believed that Bash & Howard were the Ninja but those episodes were prior to the "Debbie Meddle".
Either way, if somehow we manage to miraculously get a Season 3, please let us have a Season 3, Theresa absolutely should be become one of the main characters.

This is how I picture this scenario. Randy is busy fighting a monster, who seems like a huge for him, all seems lost until someone throws a baton like weapon at it, and we see another ninja in white with blue stripes (a color opposite of Randy's outfit), with opposite powers of Randy's, because she has powers over water and air. And after they defeat the monster, Randy ask who is she. Where she reveal herself as Theresa Fowler, and that she got her ninja mask and powers from her mentor Sofia Parker aka their economics teacher who was also a former ninja as well.

(I didnt finish cause of limits but anyone wants to talk about this I would gladly do so in replies)
I've been thinking about how they would have developed a Randy/Theresa romance and it led to me developing a whole season 3 or later in my head and I will share it here since y'all seem like people that would be interested if you're still watching content in 2022.
So first some overarching, non Randy/Theresa stuff. A) The season would have an overall theme of relationships, cause in my experience this is the time when people start forming lasting and/or serious relationships with people. It also wouldnt just focus on romantic relationships and would have a message that platonic relationships are just as important and a classic disney "you choose your family". B) The season would start after the summer, so 10th grade. And C) The big evil would be the sorceress, both because the sorcerer is gone and she fits the theme of relationships with her love/infatuation motif. Plus she can stank and I dont know what they would have done to replace that.
Now a basic list of events I came up with, I will elaborate on each afterwards but it will be long and unstructured so this is for short attention spans' sakes.

-Howard arc consists of him going from how he usually is on what I'll call a bad day in rc9gn to him being worse than usual in reaction to Randy getting closer with Theresa and especially Theresa *and* Debbie finding out hes the ninja.
-Climax of Howard arc is him getting properly stanked instead of what the soup made him.
-his arc 'ending' with an understanding that the way him and Randy previously worked wasnt great and ended up upsetting both of them a lot but them finding a way to move forwards effectively because they do both care about eachother a lot.
-Howard actually starting to become friends with Theresa and Debbie since hes not being an ass to them because hes viewing them as threats to his only friendship.
-optional but I'd like to see a sort of Flash Thompson situation happen with Bash but I'm not sure if that would work or even how it would I just like the trope of people realising the errors in their behaviours.
-Also maybe Julian would be pulled into the ninja squad since either he knows (i cant remember if he does) or they wanna protect him from any repeat Ghoulian shenanigans.
So no heres the slightly more expanded version, if your attention is still caught then well done.
So the season would start with Randy and Howard walking into school after summer, it would be established that a lot of people had gotten into relationships over the summer, with exposition provided by Howard complaining, maybe mentioning how hes grossed out that Heidi now is in a relationship. It is made clear that Randy and Theresa are even more interested in eachother now and that it's not just a crush that will disappear, it's not explicitly mentioned but this is one of those things where you just need to try it or even talk about it because it's not going away until you see what it is. So theres a couple normal episodes, Howard's focus is still on him and Randy making a name for themselves since it didnt really work out the year previous, and then comes episode 3 maybe 4 which I have an almost vivid image for.
So picture it starting with Randy being really nervous until Howard is like "what the juice is wrong with you?" And Randy is like I'm thinking of asking out Theresa. BUT! The story of this episode is that he's too scared to just come out and be like "hey wanna go out" because that's just embarassing because what if she doesn't like him, he needs to know if she likes him first or she'll say no and that's humiliating. Howard is very much adding fuel to the fire both because he genuinely believes you have to be really cool and smooth when you do stuff like that, and partially because he doesn't want Randy to have someone to split his time with. Randy ends up making up dozens of ridiculous plans and over complicated approaches to first figure out if she likes him (which to the viewer it is very very obvious she does, more so than it was before) before he can move on to the plans about asking her out which the ones he details would make the audience be like "boy you better not do that". He decides to start trying these out and they're so terrible that you can see Theresa going from a hopeful "is what I think is happening, happening??" To a confused and disappointed "What on earth is he trying to say I understand none of this". Simultaneously, monster of the week is happening which is two characters that are friends but like eachother have a massive misunderstanding because Student A was being teased about liking student B and went a little too far in trying to deny it which upset Student B who then got stanked. Randy is trying to figure out how to deal with student B because they dont have a stanked object, and when he asks the nomicon the episodes lesson is something along the lines of "truth is bravery" or like "Lies to save face only muddy the water" (with like a scene of Randy looking into a nomicon pool and being able to see his reflection clearly until he says something and the little nomicon sketch words disturb the pool until he cant see anything). Eventually Randy realises by overhearing students talking about the incident of student A acting like having a crush on B would be gross, and grabs Student A and is like "look is saving face worth it if you hurt the people you care about??" And then theres a shot of Student A looking guilty and soft before looking away from Randy, and then Theresa shot of Student B all stanked up BUT you can see Theresa in the background of that shot as though the camera is like "listen to your own advice Randy". Student A tells the truth, that they like B, and apologise, Student B destanks and they go off to talk about stuff leaving Randy there who looks at *something* off the screen before smoke bombing. The last scene of the episode is Howard and Randy talking about their stupid plans and Howard trying to be like "hey dont sweat it they were all really dumb anyway, at least now we can focus on what we wanted to" and Randy spots Theresa off in a corridor by herself and Randy kind of half-heartedly agreed with Howard before telling him to go ahead and he'll be a minute. Randy is holding the piece of paper containing the last plan he never used to figure out if she liked him as he walks towards her and looks at it before stuffing it in his pocket and calling her name. "YES" you think as she turns to face him "do it!!! Be yourself!!" You shout as he walks closer. He tries to start a conversation about the two students and the situation that led them to get stanked, and disappointment grows as he clearly gets cold feet and tries to use it as an attempt to glean if she likes him. You see Theresa's face fall a little bit almost like she was really hoping it would lead to somewhere else, before it morphs to a kind of resignation and self-deprecation at her own hope as she turns to her locker and gives an equally awkward response. They stand in silence for a couple seconds before the bell rings and Randy jolts in surprise while Theresa starts scrambling to open her locker to get stuff she needs. Randy gives a quiet little parting before turning to walk back down the corridor before stopping just short of the corner and pulling out the slightly crumpled piece of paper. He looks at it a little before scowling at it and crushing it into a ball, tossing it into the nearby bin as he spins back around to face Theresa, still at her locker. He calls her name and as soon as she makes eye contact with him he asks with arguably the most determined face weve ever seen on Randy if she wants to go on a date with him after school. His voice breaks a little towards the end but the conviction and honesty is still very clear. Theresa is clearly startled like she doesnt believe she heard him right and when she asks him to repeat what he said he hesitates a little but stands his ground and repeats himself, this time a lot more awkward and nervous of himself and almost bright red. Theresa immediately starts blushing and matches his energy in awkwardness and is like "yeah" halfway between excited and in shock that he likes her back. Episode ends with Randy running to catch class and Debbie walking up behind an essentially catatonic bright red Theresa, very confused at why her best friend is being weird.
