A Magnificent rifle that truly excels when loaded with Crosman Fast Flight or Gold Flight pellets . Thank You for show casing this outstanding weapon / tool.
I just bought this tonight online and I wanted to see how to use it and everything so thank you so much for showing me how to. You made the only video that actually went into detail about this gun
Air, Liberty and, the pursuit of breaking the sound barrier. ☺ Great review!!!! Keep up the videos. Personally, I love the fiber optics on modern bb/pellet guns with old school technology.
People writing reviews in the Walmart review section for this gun have no idea how to use this thing. One even complained about the stock snapping off. It literally says “hold by receiver when pumping.” This is why video reviews are usually more trustworthy.
Picked one up at WMart a few days ago - I always pass through their tiny air supply section even if I’m not looking for anything, and saw Legacy w/ scope marked down about 25% (they appear to be clearing old stock for Spring - check your local). I have had Daisy 880 for a while, so that’s my closest comparison model. The scopes appear to be from the same manufacturer, similar quality to all the other $20 entry-levels. The quality on these vary widely, with blurry optics being the biggest gamble. I find the Legacy to be better without the scope (I never installed it) because of the pumping physics. The sight on this was very accurate otb, and although the appearance is tactical, it’s still the same basic Western rifle design. I’ve heard many comments on shooting BBs through a rifled barrel, so I’ve only shot pellets so far, and it handles everything in my collection of weights and tips. Best pellet seems to be the lightweight Gamo Lethal 4.5gr polymer ‘slugs’ - these things hit targets almost as fast as the trigger is pulled. Lethals are expensive, av .17 cent per shot. Thanks Rusty!
I always wondered how my steel BBs would have to pass through the barrel to cause damage to the rifling. My thoughts are that air gun manufactures believe that it is such a large number that it would constitute the lifetime of the air rifle.
@@rustbeltairgun8718 Interesting, I never thought to check manufacturers’ info. on the topic. The physics of rifling is indisputable (if you’ve ever played darts, you might know putting a spin on the dart will send it much straighter), so damaging this would in theory effect the pellet. One snide commenter to a blog said, “it’s only a -$100 gun, who cares?!” 😂 in a way they have a point, but the topic is interesting. BBs are probably more effected by the rifling, as they pass through the barrel, bumping the rifling rather than a smooth bore would cause them all kinds of issues.
Just picked up from from walmart and zeroed the scope in my garage. I was really impressed with the accuracy. Was gonna get a scope cuz I assume the one that came with was crap. Again, I pleasantly surprised. Thnx for the video.
I don't think spray insulation will add much weight. I would suggest something heavier like sand packed very densely so as not to make any swishing noise. Make sure there is no openings or cracks in the stock before proceeding, as you don't want the sand to get into your air gun's mechanism.
I often wonder how air gun manufactures justify shooting steel BBs through a rifled barrel. My thoughts are they figure the air gun will wear out well before the rifling is damaged enough by shooting BBs, to make a difference.

Thanks, I'll have to try these pellets. I typically just shoot Crosman domed pellets.

Great video, very informative, a must view for any one purchasing a Legacy 1000 from Crossman.

THANK YOUFOR THIS VIDEO
Thanks for watching :-)
I like mine.
Sounded like you said: "Insert only 1.177 caliber pellet into the loading port." haha
Sometimes, words blend into each other, after many retakes.
I was thinking of filling the stock full of insulation to get rid of that cheap plastic sound.what do u think?

I was about to leave because of the irritating music in the beginning, but after that you gave a very informative review. Thanks.
Thanks for watching.
Your videos- It’s just weird man! Great info and thank you
Thanks for watching!
So I have a question when shooting this gun do you half to have bb’s and the pellets in at the same time ?
No you dont
@@quaidmcdonald7926 ok so I just put my one pellet in the right side compartment close it then pump it then shoot it
@@CarlinHarmon-l4g ...appeared to me he pumped then loaded the pellet
I only use pellets in mine, don`t want to mess up the rifling.

Don't Overpump it!
Yep, this applies to all multiple-pump pneumatics.
@@rustbeltairgun8718 striped the screw to the left, weird it together
Just an FYI
Using the amazon link provided the price is $63.00
I probably did it wrong though. Not a big issue but the $54.00 price is incorrect.
I paid 45 bucks for mine in the store three weeks ago.
Prices on Amazon are volatile, they constantly change. Typically they drop as the product on Amazon matures.
54.97 at walmart.
@@rustbeltairgun8718 you sure do have a lot of bb and pellet guns.
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I want this gun! I only have four Crosman's already so I feel like I need a fifth.
The Crosman Legacy 1000 is a great pump air rifle!
Doesn't everyone need a fifth Crossman!
@@bweaver9036 I wanted a Crossman, I got the Daisy Red Ryder with a compass in the stock! Beggars can't be choosers.
this thing broke instantly and even with good aiming, i couldn't hit anything from 2 yards away
Sorry to hear.
😅irritating sounds in the intro are not music
Yeah, I was experimenting with background music. Most people didn't like this electronic music.
this thing has the dumbest loader design ive ever seen. let me guess, they sell some kind of funnel to get the bbs in?
Many BB containers include a built-in funnel: amzn.to/3RVAeNr
