You can't imagine my surprise when you started talking about Maya. Every time I'm looking for a laptop, I have to always do separate research just to get a general feel on how the device might do with 3D modeling stuff. My jaw dropped lol

i'm having an intermittent issue with the touchpad on my new Omen 17, where every 5-15 minutes or so the cursor gradually becomes increasingly jittery, unresponsive, and buggy (to the extent that I will be almost completely unable to move the cursor, it will click of its own accord, and if I have a finger stationary on the touchpad the cursor will jump about wildly around a centimetre or two's radius at the slightest movement). It's extremely irritating, and while it's thankfully pretty much the only flaw I can pick with the entire laptop so far (aside from the keyboard backlight colours sometimes resetting on logout/in), it's a HUGE one. I'm certain it's a software issue and not a hardware issue because not only is the device new, if I use FN+F11 to disable and immediately reenable the trackpad the issue disappears instantly and the it works smooth as butter again for a bit, before it inevitably reoccurs. I've also seen other people reporting the exact same problem (including the disable/reenable temporary fix) online so I know it's not just a fault in my unit. My drivers and OS are completely up-to-date, so I think it's probably beyond my power to fix it right now and will require a patch from HP, but any advice is welcome because it's honestly annoying enough to make me reconsider my purchase, which is a huge shame because the laptop otherwise seems phenomenal.

Looks like we were going to purchase right around the same time. I did a CTO order with the I9, 3070, 32gb, 1tb config with the mechanical keyboard. I'm just waiting on mine to come in. Should be sometime next week. I'm looking forward to it!
@@theRealDlub Mine should have shipped by 12/23, but I just today, 12/28, got an email stating that my build is delayed due to component availability. My new estimated shipping date is 1/4 which isn't bad, I just hope that it isn't delayed further due to this global chip shortage. :(

Hi Ben, are the HP Omen AMD keyboards a bit lacking compared to the Intel?
Not sure how you ended up with the 3060? All I could find was the 3070 and it is a pure rocket ship!.... Thanks for a great review
All I could find is a 3060 and this dudes like the only guy with it on youtube all I find is yours with the 3070
Are you having problems with the keyboard layout? bcs of the funcion buttons of the left side, the keys moved a bit to the right, is this annoying or?
Where did you find 3070 version? I went to local MC only one they had was Omen 17 with 3060 or Omen 15 with 3050Ti
What is the application of the left keys
Does it have mux switch? And does it support type c power delivery?
Does the 2022 12th gen model have the same screen with the same brightness and color gamut range?
I recently bought this for my computer science class and I was wondering if using this while charging does it effect the battery life ?
Every modern laptop has detects whether power is connected no need to worry.
So I texted the number about a week ago asking for help on the laptop, do you no longer do this anymore?
Are you having problems with the keyboard layout? bcs of the funcion buttons of the left side, the keys moved a bit to the right, is this annoying or?

There are 2 ssd slots. The main slot is gen4 and the 2nd slot is gen3... unless they changed it since last month.
