  • Car leather cleaning becomes a necessary evil for most car owners.
The problem is that most car owners wait until their car leather has become so evil with dirt, that now they are faced with what feels like an impossible task. Add to this problem another problem, which is that most people operate under false rules of car leather cleaning.
Choosing cleaning products and scrub brushes that prove ineffective because we have all been taught bad information about the leather in our cars.
Darren shows you what he uses as a professional detailer when it comes to scrubbing and cleaning the leather in cars. He also shows you a test you can do at home to determine if the scrub brushes you want to use to clean your car leather are too soft or too aggressive.

Chauffeur here with an Audi Q7 with light tan upholstery, 160,000km/100Kmi on the clock - I'm pretty sure the driver's seat needs major work by an upholsterer now - patches of colour have actually worn off, revealing a black colour underneath. I've scrubbed very hard with very strong chemicals to no avail - all I do is remove more colour when i get super aggressive. I'll report back after I've visited an upholsterer.

Scrubbing the Tanned leather which has faded and shown the black leather (which is the actual colour of the leather) is will not change it back to Tan, you are correct though, sounds like it just needs a partial respray with matching tan colour.

@@SunnyS3506 I didn't know whether the black was dirt, or whether the colour had worn off. Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the latter. 😉
