I just got a surprise when i saw this suggested youtube clip. There was my fathers face, talking about boatbuilding. He passed away two years ago. Go raibh maith agaibh as ucht an píosa seo a roinnt linn. Bhí sé aiseach a eadan a fheiceal ar an gcaoí seo arís.
1971 the view of a hooker, sailing into roundstone harbour was reason for my passion of sailing ... a bigger model standing in front of my window since 30 years is wonderful to look at sail on !
And the boat with 20 barrels of porter was never seen again ... The porter that is ... the boat and badly hung over crew turned up 2 weeks later.... rofl

Always wondered where in Ireland you'd get such huge pieces of timber - they bolt the pices together in a giant jigsaw. Pretty resourceful.
