The runx rsi will always be special to me. My mom owned one and as a laaitie I stole the car many times for joy rides. Came home with the shakes. When the lift kicks in its really special. Cried the day it was sold to someone from cape town
I think both cars are superb, it’s just a matter of appreciating what each car has to offer at the end of the day 🤷🏾♂️

Agree on that part 7:10 that infotainment system looks very, very aftermarket whereas overseas GR Yaris has the proper Toyota system

I'm kinda disappointed you didn't mention fuel usage like you did in your Facebook post. Otherwise this was nice video. I'd prefer the Run X because I like nostalgia.

Cant really compare the two cars. throw in a proper track or mountain pass. Also all homolagation specials are turbo. the runX , as much as I love it, was never close to being a global phenoma, like the Integra's of old, Or Renaulsports. People forget the first subaru STI's was nothing more than a crappy corolla inside. Either way. Ill take both :) a nice revving NA engine is fun, but Ill rather take something I can thrash around bends.

Great Video Niyaaz and that Yaris GR is a real pocket rocket for a 3cylinder it's supper impressive.
A 86 with a stage 1 will give you a feeling and that you can spin,drift,slide which couldn't in any other previous Toyota. I was surprised by what a stage 1 can do in that 2.0 N/A motor thou not taking anything away from the legendary RSI

Nah, Subaru left WRC in 2008. Their drivetrain has just always been permanent 50/50 AWD.
The sound the yaris makes reminds me of the way cars sound in grand turismo
The head unit in your car looks different to the once’s we get in the uk, ours has a bigger screen and I think the sound is pretty good
Bolt ons, valve springs, fuel system upgrade then it's a sub 400hp engine. Toyota have seriously out done themselves with this car and engine.
Gr is best in the wet weather on tight roads it will beat pretty much all in it's way it's perfect for UK weather & B roads

@@rushdijohnstone3549 but idc about the value part tho if i had one of these i wouldn't care about keeping the KM's on the odometer low i will have a million km RunX RSI it's not the value of the car it's about the story that car tells the joy it brings to you when you drive it sentimental value over actual value that's why i think the GR Yaris would be a dumb purpose because of the price point , the RunX RSI is an exceptional car in many ways it has like 5 kilowatts less then a MK5 GTI that has a 2 liter and a turbo the RunX RSI has a measly 1.8 liter with no forced induction and it makes turbo power now that's extremely impressive in my eyes i much rather buy a RunX RSI and do a fully built naturally aspirated monster

Toyota are brilliant cars mechanically, always hv been, still drive a Conquest, performance motors, but 700k plus for a jasis is just jasis,

@@randups You fail to understand that the market for this car are people who already own atleast 2 or 3 other cars and are just looking for a special experience...this is usually the upper class and they have money so price is not really a deciding factor when buying a car.

C`mon, let`s face it...that Yaris is the best performance Toyota that SA has seen since the Conquest RSi and the Corolla RXi...the 86 was very "Meh" and the new Supra is just a BMW and the RunX was very very lackluster compared to what was out at the same time...
