- As a member of the Inumaki family, Toge has inherited a powerful curse technique that allows him to quickly become a high ranking Semi-First grade sorcerer during only his second year at the Tokyo Jujutsu Academy. Though this technique comes at a cost, result in it being just as much a curse for the users as it is their targets.

depends, if gojo is sh-tting enough to get somewhat injured, inumaki has a greater chance of winning, but if inumaki runs out of stamina before his cursed speech attacks gojo (enough) then gojo might win. pooping takes a lot of energy tho, so idk if he would have enough energy to attack inumaki back
If Toge used a single word against Gojou his throat would 100% explode immediately
it would probably kill Inumaki just to try cursing Gojo because of the power gap

@@black-x-sage if he had reverse curse technique, that would mean he could heal his throat right after making a strong command. Reverse curse technique could in theory remove practically all the downsides of his ability except for the fact that people can cover their ears.

I think toge could be an extremely op support character if he learned how to use his cursed speech to not only heal himself but his allies as well
I think the technique is more efficient on cursed spirits than on humans is because they are "imaginary" beings, they are made of energy.
The ability is less a type of hypnosis and more a reality manipulation ability that uses speech as its medium, humans have a more anchored existence on reality than curses, so a sorcerer just needs to reinforce their "perception"(hearing) then the ability loses most of its power.
However cursed spirits the command would "reverberate" their entire being as their entire body is energy "coagulated" into a form.
Actually I'm pretty sure that in the battle arc the other class had to focus their cursed energy on their ears to not suffer the effects
I just want to see him absolutely demolish sukuna for a brief moment or something.
Like scream "SUFFER" or something before completely destroying his throat. We want to see him some more!

There is somethig that bugs me about toge... why is his technique always active? Gojo for example had to learn how to keep infinity up pemanently so why does toge just have this active all the time? If that is simply how the tehnique is structured, like a heavenly restriction, then why isn't it so fucking strong that it can wipe out 1st grades with just "die"? It's not like maki where she has close to 0, he is more like a toji, it would be a perfect op restriction, but that isn't what we see. Maybe he could control it, like how infinity can be turned on and off, but he hasn't figured it out yet. He only ever cared about the precision, he is sort of solving the problems it causes instead of gong for the root cause. Hell maybe after achieving that level of control over it, simple onomatopeoia may result in damage (scraming aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa would make a yuta blast of cursed energy). If you bend the logic, a lot, it may even be possible to give the word itself meaning, not requireing the opponent to hear it, the simple action of giving a command would hit, not the ce infused air. This is all jut awild rant tho, I'd like at least one of these to happen.
I feel like his technique being always active is just a side effect even gojo has a side effect(watch ohara), and toge I feel like his technique is actually fitted to annoy and disrupt curses cause most are practically mindless excluding the special grades, so toge is more so of a support, probably reason why it aint that strong since hes still a semi-grade 1 and also maybe it depends on how much the cursed energy someone has but since I read "spoiler for manga btw" that yuta copied his ability and yuta has an infinite amount of cursed energy and I dont think thats the case soooo who knows what will happen to this character honestly im kinda lookin forward to it, also I think infinity cannot be turned off since gojo is literally always staring at it and thats the reason why he has a blindfold hes so good at seeing through people that he literally doesn't see them as an individual. and if ur talking about the invisible wall thing, he learned that one so it was on and off until he used it so often that its just always on
because he was born into a family of cursed users thus making his cursed energy more potent than others. plus he uses words and words are more common than fist fights.
There are other sorcerers with "always on" CTs: Geto, Tengen, and Haruta Shigemo are technically always under the effects of their CTs as well.
his ability isn't always active. in the manga, every time toge speaks, his speech bubbles are coloured in, whereas everyone else's are white-except for once. during his fight against suguru geto in volume 0, toge tries to tell yuta to run away. his speech bubbles shift from white when he calls yuta's name, to black when he begins saying "run," to white again as he says "away." so toge's cursed speech ISN'T always active, but i think it's that he's afraid of accidentally cursing people, so he limits his vocabulary.
we know how easy it is for people to accidentally curse others bc of what yuta did to rika. i suppose toge could try to train the technique, but trying to train cursed speech would likely be much more dangerous than how gojo trained to use his infinity, simply because cursed speech is cursed speech. toge might perceive the risk to be too great.
additionally, the fanbook states that the other members of the inumaki clan don't communicate verbally either, so even if toge wanted to train the technique, there is no one who could provide him with guidance. it would probably be a trial-and-error sort of process, and again, he's probably not willing to take that risk.
im pretty sure cursed speech imbues words with a curse, not onomatopoeia? but that would be cool to see! im honestly not sure what akutami is going to do with any of the characters now but i sure hope toge gets a powerup or training montage or plot armor or...something. anything. one can hope.

His cursed technique is very interesting, he looks extremely cool while using it ^^ His design and name are also pretty. Hes my favorite character and it pains me that he has been pratically forgotten in the manga. Hes been shown only once in the whole Shibuya arc and I didnt get to read the excat chapter he was in :((. After that he was only mentioned once. I hope anime can have some non-canon episodes that will flesh out supporting cast, because the comic does a poor job (the pacing and exposition are also messy). Also my boy was the only one from whole Tokyo High who didnt get a recommendation for becoming a higher rank T_T

Cursed speech can only be used like 5 or 6 times in a row before you pass out from your vocal cords getting ripped to shreds
@@black-x-sage Choso is a curse which gives him several advantages over a normal sorcerer, including a much faster regeneration of blood, sturdier body and literal centuries worth of training time compared to Inumaki's few year. Just because Choso > Inumaki does not make the technique better, a regular user not a curse has to frequently get his blood drained and carry it around with him in bags to even have ammo.
Despite all that Inumaki still has better versatility and team synergy. Inumaki could completely, repeatedly paralyze Hanami who is far above his level, while Choso struggles against people near his own level.

Give Inumaki artificial vocal cords or a text to speech device, and he would likely classify as a semi special grade sorcerer as the backlash could be dramatically reduced by the mechanical add one.

The way I interpret cursed speech working on a mechanical level, as you put it, is based on the concept of a word in the user's mind. Or, to put it another way: its effect is tied directly to the user's, and the target's, understanding of the word. Which kind of ties into the kotodama thing (I think? idk anything about it beyond what you mentioned).

Kotodama could be very useful as a counter for decks that summon multiple monsters with the same name like Blue eyes, or harpy’s. As they would all get destroyed when brought out.

I haven't watched Jujutsu Kaisen yet, and 2 things I'm wondering are:
1. Would it not be more convenient for him to know sign language? I get not all of his peers would know it, but it seems like a more practical way to communicate since he can speak freely without his voice (although, I get that he probably talks like that to make him more standout/marketable)
2. Since muffling the sound stops it, would someone who doesn't understand what he says not be affected by the curse? Like someone who speaks a different language. Or is it the vibration itself that triggers it?
I thought the same thing! Yes using sign language would work the best. But it must be much easier to animate/draw him using different words . And funnier.

I thought the same about sign language. Maybe he didnt want to learn it because not many people know sign language and what sense would be there in using it if nobody knew what he was saying anyways? I guess he either thought the earlier or just didnt think of learning it. And he can communicate with others pretty well. I guess hes content with that.
yeah it would require that other people know sign language as well. another thing to consider is that in jjk, a lot of curse techniques are initiated with some hand signs, so maybe jujutsu sorcerers would be a bit reluctant to do use sign language as it can be misinterpreted as an attack instead of just harmless communication.
i think his cursed speech would considering most curses don’t understand Japanese and the command is forced onto them unwillingly
Whilst sign language would be inarguably more useful for conversation, he is a sorcerer and thus needs to be able to communicate with allies on the battlefield, and having them divert their attention to look at his signs mid battle would be a major detriment as opposed to his coded language

The Jews of Halab had a very similar concept of cursed speech. That's one of the reasons I love Inumaki's ability so much! It's so close to this obscure thing that I studied and is now in a mainstream anime! and given to one of the coolest characters!!!

Their tongue was also compared to "the serpents tongue" the curse wouldn't be instant, but in one infamous case where I supposed scholar of this cursed a group of young men, they all died before the end of the year.
I realy want to know what's happend to inumaki after his arms been chopped of, this could give the opportunity to show that he might be able to use words on himself and say to himself in a mirror maybe lol "regrow" and his arm regrows, pluss he would be realy interesting to see with one arm since he might struggle to use his cough medicine. Overall I just want to know what's happend to him as I very highly doubt he's gonna die since its sukunas technique which gives basically purfect cuts so it won't blead too much

Toge is the perfect representation of an INTP. We suck at communicating with people and are pretty introverted but we get other people quite well while also being hard for other people to understand ourselves.

When I finished s1 of JJK I looked on the wiki if there was more of Inumaki in the manga, but found out ab the shibuya incident arc. It made me decide to just not read the manga tbh :'( I'm so sad he's so underutilised.... really hope to see more of him, but tbh I'm not expecting a lot. It's not as if modern manga last as long as they did in the days of naruto and bleach,, so even if he returns I doubt he'll do much?

14:03 i always wondered why he used "salmon, salmon roe, spiced cod roe" as he unzipped his collar. There were no other sorcerers around and a special grade curse appearing in front of him. I assume that he was talking to himself but it just seemed out of place.
