Deep, deep respect for any Americans that know Barrington Levy. Us brits, especially those of us that grew up in the 70s and 80s were spoiled in our reggae education but only one or two American reactors have identified this from this tune. Well done.

Romain is fantastic. How... how do such brilliant minds come together so fast? The Beatles... Paul and John sang in the flats water room... toilet... bathroom... depends on where ja live. I get that artists in an area find each other but... toss out a few billion people and come up with Led Zep. West coast California Love needed and Dre even tho Pac was solid on his own. The singers and instrumentalists in Ren's crew are amazing. The videographers and whoever the hell finds these dope places... top shelf meet next level.

Viktus is usually the one in the pig mask. Ren featured Viktus on the song "Down on the Beat".Viktus just released a track called "Odyssey" last week and one called "Sensei" a couple months ago. Sensei has a real D12 vibe to the beat. Y'all should check out some of his stuff.

Oh shit that’s dope that you said the genesis because these are my two favorite red songs and then the castle made of sand. I don’t know if you guys have heard that one that’s the one he added to the album in the 11th hour to help push it to number one, but I think it’s only available on band camp.but anyway, as usual, the live version where he plays the acoustic guitar and sings it sitting up in the Hollywood Hills. It’s so dope. Also the pig mask that Vicktus wears represents pain and hardship and sickness to rent that he’s basically gone through half of his life and he said in a weird way he has a comfort with the pig mask because of what it represents and how long that was in his life and basically what his life revolved around.
You's 2 will absolutely groove on the live acoustic version. The reggae influence is more prevalent and he incorporates more of Barrington Levy's slant, including the scat. As incredible as this track is, IMO the acoustic version blows it away. He recorded it in LA and does some shout outs to the local talent also. Another great reaction guys. Keep 'em coming. 💛🤘🤙✌️
Great reaction guys, I live the way you get the humour Ren puts into his bars, especially the Toblerone references, not many reactors get that in an interview Ren made a joke about those bars, he said I have no idea why I use the Toblerone reference as it looks nothing like a penis, except for my Toblerone shaped penis that is.

I’m glad you finally got around to this one fellas. So check this out the live version is even better. I don’t think this surprises you but as much of a Baller as this song is, it’s saying something. I think this is my second favorite song of his I think I only like Genesis more, of course all of his songs, and Tales, and money game are amazing in nostalgic, but as far as listening on the radio on my car and just blasting them, this is one of the top three!

Viktus is the pig, and yes he raps. Has some really awesome tracks out. Try n.w.o. 'voices' and 'my recital' all are great . Ren was in the big push but his first band was 'trick the fox', they ate also amazing. Plus he collaborates with alot of different people. Hes collabing on a song with prof thats supposed to come out soon.
Vik is usually the pig but not in this one as he can't drive, so he was on the rooftop instead. 😊

Yeah, he has a rap song with Victor and you guys should watch where he’s in Las Vegas and he’s celebrating the number one album and he’s in the pool with Vicus and ricochet is doing the graffiti art while Harry Mac is freestyle about Ren having a number one album and doesn’t even know it’s coming and someone gives him the phone and he’s watching the video. It’s awesome so ricochet the graffiti artist from New York knows both of them he knows ran through Vicus actually I’m pretty sure and I guess he’s just friends with Harry Mack but anyway he’s a dope graffiti artist you guys should check out that video. It’s totally awesome.Ren is shocked. And then at the end he’s like I thought it was gonna be one or two bars and the guy does like 30 bars in a row you guys know who Mack is right? Of course, I don’t know how much of his stuff you watch, but being the best freestyle rapper ever in my opinion, I’m sure you know who he is.

Having drove both in UK and NYC. It’s strange for like a day but you soon get used to it. I’ve also driven in several other states and countries. And I gotta say NYC is completely different to anywhere else in the world. iTS FUCKING MENTAL!!!!!

UK drivers are used to driving on the other side of the road in Europe, we take lots of holidays in countries that drive on the wrong side;-). My biggest fright was when an American friend visited us in Scotland, borrowed our car and crossed the road,(in the car), before turning right.

I'm no expert on reggae - I only know about Barrington Levy because of Ren - however that doesn't stop me from being really excited anytime someone listens to Murderer the first time and knows the song!
I love this one. One of my absolute favourites of the "Ren having fun" vs "Ren spilling his guts" tracks (I typically gravitate towards heavy, emotional music)
And I echo everyone else saying: you WILL NOT be disappointed by the live acoustic version of this. Which is my favourite version? Whichever I've listened to most recently. 🤣 I legitimately can't choose. This studio version is SO GOOD but the other is SO GOOD too.

I'm uk, used to own a 68 mustang, so I had a go at driving a left-hand steering car on right-hand steering roads. It's a bit trippy, but your brain gets used to it. Most of Europe is like the US, only a few countries are stupid like we are in the UK :D

"Wearing clothes from Oxfam" is my favorite bar in this track. Unfortunately anyone outside the UK probably wouldn't understand it. But, many reactors in America do comment on the oldschool starter jackets Ren often wears. There are two places I can think of that would have clothing like that on the racks: One would be a "cool" indie retro store where you would pay astonishing money, and the other would be a charity shop (Oxfam), where you could pick up a classic for the price of a average fast food drive through meal. :)
I saw somewhere in an interview where Ren said they went from one shoot area to another, and couldn’t find their buddy because they left him in the trunk lol

Rens roots are actually in singing and playing instruments 🎸 He might’ve said that himself in an interview. (Maybe Knox’s latest interview, there’s a few) RENs got an album coming up where he will only be singing and playing instruments. Who knows when that will be though. “Soon”, as Ren says 😂 In the midst of that new album, he made another album of collaborations 😂 Guys, Ren is music. 💯
He only raps because he can. That, and he has an appreciation for the rap craft and its history.

And Pigbae (Pigman), that’s Viktus. Rens Rapping friend from Brighton. Viktus is a sick rapper. He’s got plenty to rap about too. He was in What You Want video, but didn’t rap. Same with the Fatboy Slim retake and “Losing It”. He does however rap in “Down on the Beat”, as a feature with Ren. That’s on an EDM beat. It’s dope. Viktus kills it in that one (that statement has a few meanings). 😂 You’ll definitely like it.
The pig represents a few things. Greed, corruption, big pharma, etc. but it’s also a comforting figure in a way for Ren. A companion if you will, because he’s known him for so long. Anyways, hope that helps. Peace ✌🏻

I'm British but live in Spain and we drive on the right of the road in Spain, like pretty much everywhere else in the world (except for UK and China?) and yeah, when I go home to visit, driving freaks me the fuck out now and I try to avoid having to do it when I'm there, leaving it to my brother for that very reason.

If you’re wondering, this is not a one take. Somewhere on Joe E Sparks (th-cam.com/video/rZqNBaISaXQ/w-d-xo.html) comments, Luke Flagg said this:
so we actually had to hide a cut going in and out of the car because it was just me on camera and also shooting in a moving car with really specific camera movements and focus..I didn't know anyone who could do it the way I wanted, so I just had to end the first shot be leaning as far into the car as I could with the camera. Then cut and open the door, sit in the car. Then hold camera out of the car window as far as I can and record as I bring it in again, starting the next shot. Hardest thing was to 99% match the overlapping shots in that moment it goes through the window: angle, composition, etc. So there's a freeze frame where the inside of the car is a different shot to the outside of the car.
BLOOPER ALERT: Did you notice at (12:07) the last car on the right is a dark colored car, then after the camera comes out the window there is a white car there.
