It's not because of sensitivity but the integrity, the respect and moral values. Direk Cathy for sure knew what those things. For sure she learned from these experiences that not just because you're a renowned artist you can just say it those words to anyone.

I just finished reading the open letter.. Now if I was in their shoes.. I'll feel humiliated and small too kasi I'm a very sensitive person. Yes trabaho lang walang personalan. But we cannot push it down to someone's throat and just suck it up. But moving on.. Since the open letter already happened, at nagkasakitan na ng salita.. Sana magkaayos na lang sila and they'll forgive each other. Now the other side demanded suspension.. for me since nasira din nila si direk Cathy.. Patas na sila. No need for suspension. Kailangan is rules na iwasan ang pagmumura. Cussing is not necessary talaga. Jerry Tang Ok your example of Engineer vs Nursing is so out of context. Very distant analogy naman yan kumpara sa Extra and director which are both in the same line of industry. The conclusion here is for directors NOT to belittle and curse at people who are trying to do their job and can be taught without belittling or cursing them whether they are use to treating others like that. Did you see what the repercussions? Emotional and psychological damages ang pupuntahan niyan. Kung sa ibang bansa, lawsuit na agad ito. Buti nga hindi nila dinemanda si Direk Molina dahil pag doon humantung ito, her credibility will go down the drain and her career will plummet because the public will turn their backs against her due to her unprofessional attitude and borderline bullying actions. Lesson Learned: Do not assume that what's okay in your circle is okay with everyone else. Swearing is swearing, it should not have a place in society of intelligent people. To say that "..in the Philippines, swearing is not meant to denigrate but rather just a 'word of mouth' and is just normal in the industry" is rather stupid. If she thinks it's just normal to swear at anyone in your own circle, then I think she deserves whatever shitstorm she's getting. I hope she does not get to work with people that view physical abuse as a norm, or people that think it's okay to spit in the face of people in their own circle. I am not a fan of cathy's style when it comes to technical things like camera movements and stuff that's just me..my own taste..but she is indeed a very talented director when it comes to acting. Na I pushed nya talaga ang talent ni Liza & Quen. Magaling talaga si direk Cathy na palabasin ang skills ng mga actors and actresses. Sa forevermore.. Ang naging complained ko lang naman is yung Book two but Cathy did such an amazing job sa book 1. I understand sa book two medyo naging magulo dahil kailangan I- extend but other than that.. She did an awesome job. Sa camera movements.. Konting improvements lang. But after watching this video.. nag gained yung respect ko sa kanya not because she explained herself but because she admitted her mistake. The problem with other people kasi, dinadamay pa ang family na wala naman kinalaman sa issue. Cathy is right.. if you have a problem with someone.. Talk to that person. I like this woman. Not everybody will own their mistakes they did. #respect
When you apologize, you should not say, "hindi ka pala sanay" because that is adding insult to injury. You say sorry, period and do it with all sincerities. Pagmumura is worse that physically hitting people. Do not be arrogant. Be sensitive.

I worked in advertising. There is a big difference on how shoots are being done with our productions versus on movie films. Honestly with us, I think there is more respect on the people that we work with, at least. Especially to the staff or even the talents. Those I actually experienced shouting or cursing are the directors from the film industry (based on my own experience). Because sometimes they also direct commercials. Sorry to say that. But it's true. My opinion, you don't do this to people who are working so hard as much as you do. I guess power tripping is a bad habit if I may say so. That's always the case. If you want to be respected, you show the same respect to others. There were times I was thinking, bakit kailangang iba yung attitude ng mga nasa film compared to advertising. Pare-pareho naman silang may pinag aralan. Siguro naka kuha lang sya ng katapat. She's from UP right? So she should know. The husband who was accidentally casted in that episode, was a PROFESSOR there. Yes a professor who only accompanied his wife that time. I think it was the responsibility of the production assistant or the assistant director to inform her that he was not an actor. Because they were the ones who casted him because one of the background talents didn't come. And I'm sorry hindi po lahat ng tao ay pareho ng pananaw nyo regarding sa pagmumura. It's not an everyday thing. And God doesn't permit that. It's a sin. I just saw this video now. I know late na and opinyon ko. But my source was reliable, bec she was there as a talent, too. She saw what happened. Maybe it was meant to happen so she can learn from her mistakes. RESPECT is the key word direk. It's for free. I consider this a wake up call. In fairness, I've worked with Boy, he is one of the most professional managers I know. Very respectful. That's based on my experience as well. (just saying).
This type of person triggers my anxiety. Sobrang sakit makaencounter ng ganitong tao. You will question your worth everyday sa mga masasamg sinasabi against you. Even though they want you to improve, hindi lahat positive ang take ng tao doon. It's just so sad to face someone like this kind of person.

I read the open letter, It was written by a decent man. He may be a somebody but more importantly he is a decent man telling us what he went through. The humanity in his letter is palpable. Unfortunately, In the world we live in and the craft that she's in, She better well know that bashers and trolls are out to take a piece of the cake served. I felt bad that it had resulted to your life being threatened. The apology is sincere but defensive. Mr. Boy Abunda you know very well that an Apology from the brain and apology from the heart has a rhythm. Professor ako sa ganto, graduate ako sa ganyan, kaya dapat irespeto ako blah blah blah. Who cares? Ano kinalaman ng propesyon mo sa pag-eextra extra mo sa pelikula? Pinili mo yan kaya panindigan mo. Di porket professor ka e di ka na mumurahin o pagagalitan kung mali-mali pinag-gagawa mo sa set. Alam mo in every business may hinahabol na time yan, kung ikaw ang nagpapadelay dapat handa kang tumanggap ng consequence. Ang guess ko dito baka umabot to ng 20 takes bago matapos ang scene. Ikaw ba direktor di ka magagalit? Jusko pag ako direktor dyan basag na lahat ng gamit dyan. At ang tatanga-tangang talent coordinator naman kumuha ng talent na wala namang katalent-talent sa acting.

And to the person who published the open-letter, don't bother joining the show business if you don't want to get offended by a Director who has been on this business for years. Someone can always provide directions without cursing. This is exactly why abuse is happening in this industry. People tolerate something that can be considered as bullying just because they feel it is a rite of passage. we dont have to be rude and humiliate other people just because we want to maintain our integrity from higher people we work for. In every given opportunity, project, that is a joint effort and not only by one person. As for me, you can"t be called a good director without your people, without the staff, without your actors, without the talent. Just because we want to make things done according to our standards we would hurt someone, then what is the point of gaining much applause from your good work when at the back of your character hides something bad. Yes we are not perfect, but that is not a valid reason to humiliate people under us. Ive been a talent for ablout 4 years but i never experienced being yelled by directors because i make sure i know what im doing and i have to master it before they make a "take" howeve, ive also seen other talents who has gone home disheartened because of the treatment they encountered during taping, so sad to think that behind the story of a top rating serye lies a bad experience you would not want to share. lesson learned for both parties.. God loves you and it happens for a reason..... LEARN!

Ganun siya eh kaya maganda mga obra niya kung sa ibang direktor pwede na yan, pero siya hindi pwede yung pwede na yan. Nasaktan ni Direk Cathy ang mga di nakaya ang bigat niya. Sa ibang tao kapag nasaktan ay sumusuko, sumusuko nalang at iisipin na di sila para dun. Ang iba naman ay lumalaban, lumalaban na papatunayan niya sa sarili niya na darating ang araw na magiging magaling din siyà ung iba naman Si Alvin na nag sulat ng open letter pinili niya lumaban at sumuko. i have been in the industry for last 11 years....and i thank God that the people i work with, expresses their exasperation , anger, madness or whatever you may call it with factual situations, telling us to do what they want to us to do, but cursing is not included, the industry is not tough as long as you know your values and principles, it is us who has expectations aand standards. i don't think that we need to curse to point out what we want in a scene or in any situations. I am sorry but Ms. Cathy cannot justify what she does/say.. if only humility taught her, she would just admit and be humble to seek forgiveness but you cannot rationalize a conscious behavior and justify attitude just because people don't get what you asked of them.

For the record, Oscar-winning director Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu (Birdman) curses all throughout his movies, he even said Emma Stone was ruining the movie during the shooting, and what happened? Emma Stone got nominated for an Oscar, he won Best Director! So, please, just shut up if you're not sure of what you are saying.

I think what she was giving off as a director is pressure. Heavy pressure through words ,but I think that's very important, I read once that there are two types of people when under pressure one excels more and one cowers , harsh as it may sounds but its true. She is using it to her advantage to improve her co workers. Thats why a lot of Cathy-directed movies are good.

The people in the industry especially those who are behind the cameras are insensitive and want things to be perfect for the sake of the production. Professionalism and Insensitive, two important keys in showbiz. You have to cope with the veterans and professionals because if they notice any minor mistakes that you commit in the set/shoot, you will experience hell from them and you will be left out. I am with Sir Alvin and Miss Rossellyn because being humiliated by an insensitive or selfish person especially in front of a huge crowd is something that I cannot tolerate, I am not mad at Direk Cathy either, in fact I accidentally bumped into her when I was waiting for my sister at Abs-Cbn. I apologized and she just smiled at me and said everything was okay. Though, being insensitive doesn't mean you have the right to shout/curse people. You need to think about their feelings too you know because they are not as brave or intelligent as you are. And cursing someone doesn't improve his/herself, it only makes things worse.
She's only sorry she got caught really. We're not barbarians. If you're a civilized intelligent and sensible human being, there's a PROFESSIONAL and BETTER approach to handling these situations. You can raise your voice and use the right words not insults if the person is purposely stubborn or unprofessional. Lesson here is, treat everyone reasonably, kindly and equally (she did not treat the highly paid stars like this despite their many mistakes as opposed to extras who almost do not get paid at all.) You don't know what battles they're going through and you don't know who they really are, maybe they're someone sick, in grief, etc but just somehow got into the situation. I completely understand Direk Cathy since the day the letter was opened to the public. As I've said, magkaiba lang talaga sila ng mundong ginagalawan. Other than that, the other party intended to open the said issue on social media to call the director's attention at nang sa gayon ay magkaayos na sila. Ang nangyari, mas lalo lang gumulo kasi marami na ang nakisali. So it is better to keep your story safe, and only to yourself and the persons involved.

I just finished reading the open letter.. Now if I was in their shoes.. I'll feel humiliated and small too kasi I'm a very sensitive person. Yes trabaho lang walang personalan. But we cannot push it down to someone's throat and just suck it up. But moving on.. Since the open letter already happened, at nagkasakitan na ng salita.. Sana magkaayos na lang sila and they'll forgive each other. Now the other side demanded suspension.. for me since nasira din nila si direk Cathy.. Patas na sila. No need for suspension. Swearing is swearing, it should not have a place in society of intelligent people. To say that "..in the Philippines, swearing is not meant to denigrate but rather just a 'word of mouth' and is just normal in the industry" is rather stupid. If she thinks it's just normal to swear at anyone in your own circle, then I think she deserves whatever shitstorm she's getting.

I am not a fan of cathy's style when it comes to technical things like camera movements and stuff that's just me..my own taste..but she is indeed a very talented director when it comes to acting. Na I pushed nya talaga ang talent ni Liza & Quen. Magaling talaga si direk Cathy na palabasin ang skills ng mga actors and actresses. Sa forevermore.. Ang naging complained ko lang naman is yung Book two but Cathy did such an amazing job sa book 1. I understand sa book two medyo naging magulo dahil kailangan I- extend but other than that.. She did an awesome job. Sa camera movements.. Konting improvements lang. But after watching this video.. nag gained yung respect ko sa kanya not because she explained herself but because she admitted her mistake. The problem with other people kasi, dinadamay pa ang family na wala naman kinalaman sa issue. Cathy is right.. if you have a problem with someone.. Talk to that person. I like this woman. I worked in advertising. There is a big difference on how shoots are being done with our productions versus on movie films. Honestly with us, I think there is more respect on the people that we work with, at least. Especially to the staff or even the talents. Those I actually experienced shouting or cursing are the directors from the film industry (based on my own experience). Because sometimes they also direct commercials. Sorry to say that. But it's true. My opinion, you don't do this to people who are working so hard as much as you do. I guess power tripping is a bad habit if I may say so. That's always the case. If you want to be respected, you show the same respect to others. There were times I was thinking, bakit kailangang iba yung attitude ng mga nasa film compared to advertising. Pare-pareho naman silang may pinag aralan. Siguro naka kuha lang sya ng katapat. She's from UP right? So she should know. The husband who was accidentally casted in that episode, was a PROFESSOR there. Yes a professor who only accompanied his wife that time. I think it was the responsibility of the production assistant or the assistant director to inform her that he was not an actor. Because they were the ones who casted him because one of the background talents didn't come. And I'm sorry hindi po lahat ng tao ay pareho ng pananaw nyo regarding sa pagmumura. It's not an everyday thing. And God doesn't permit that. It's a sin.
I just saw this video now. I know late na and opinyon ko. But my source was reliable, bec she was there as a talent, too. She saw what happened. Maybe it was meant to happen so she can learn from her mistakes. RESPECT is the key word direk. It's for free. I consider this a wake up call.

It's not about cursing.. it's about the culture of abuse and how being a direk is supposed to exempt you from normal human conduct and basic decency.
Someone can always provide directions without cursing. This is exactly why abuse is happening in this industry. People tolerate something that can be considered as bullying just because they feel it is a rite of passage. Because the seniors experienced it, it is only right for the rookies to go through it as well. It's breeding the wrong values in the industry.

we dont have to be rude and humiliate other people just because we want to maintain our integrity from higher people we work for. In every given opportunity, project, that is a joint effort and not only by one person. As for me, you can"t be called a good director without your people, without the staff, without your actors, without the talent. Just because we want to make things done according to our standards we would hurt someone, then what is the point of gaining much applause from your good work when at the back of your character hides something bad. Yes we are not perfect, but that is not a valid reason to humiliate people under us. Ive been a talent for ablout 4 years but i never experienced being yelled by directors because i make sure i know what im doing and i have to master it before they make a "take" howeve, ive also seen other talents who has gone home disheartened because of the treatment they encountered during taping, so sad to think that behind the story of a top rating serye lies a bad experience you would not want to share. lesson learned for both parties.. God loves you and it happens for a reason..... LEARN!

Ganun siya eh kaya maganda mga obra niya kung sa ibang direktor pwede na yan, pero siya hindi pwede yung pwede na yan. Nasaktan ni Direk Cathy ang mga di nakaya ang bigat niya. Sa ibang tao kapag nasaktan ay sumusuko, sumusuko nalang at iisipin na di sila para dun. Ang iba naman ay lumalaban, lumalaban na papatunayan niya sa sarili niya na darating ang araw na magiging magaling din siyà ung iba naman Si Alvin na nag sulat ng open letter pinili niya lumaban at sumuko. Lumaban siya para sa mga kapwa niya talents na sa tingin niya di na nabibigyan ng magandang trato sa industriya at sumuko siya na patunayan na kaya niya maging magaling na artista kasi sa umpisa palang di naman talaga niya plano mag artista nahila lang siya.
Siguro ako kapag nakatrabaho ko si Direk Cathy, Let's say PA ako tapos nagkamali ako ng slate at namura niya ko, pag tatawanan ng mga staff and crew. OO masasaktan ako at uuwi ako sa bahay ng umiiyak pero lalaban ako. Mag aaral ako mag slate hanggang kahit pagpikit alam at kabisado ko na hanggang sa di na maulit yung pagkakamali ko para di na niya ko masaktan at ipagmamalaki ko na na katrabaho ko ang isang Direk Cathy Garcia Molina at natutu ako. Yun siguro ung passion ng mga talent and production team na nainda yung sakit, di ko alam kung ilan ang sumuko at di na bumangon pero ang mahalaga maraming tao ang lumaban at nag pasalamat dahil natutu.
Di lang about sa industriya ng film kundi sa lahat ng aspeto may taong makakapanakit sa atin! Ikaw lang pipili kung ano magiging aksyon mo.

i have been in the industry for last 11 years....and i thank God that the people i work with, expresses their exasperation , anger, madness or whatever you may call it with factual situations, telling us to do what they want to us to do, but cursing is not included, the industry is not tough as long as you know your values and principles, it is us who has expectations aand standards. i don't think that we need to curse to point out what we want in a scene or in any situations. I am sorry but Ms. Cathy cannot justify what she does/say.. if only humility taught her, she would just admit and be humble to seek forgiveness but you cannot rationalize a conscious behavior and justify attitude just because people don't get what you asked of them.

For the record, Oscar-winning director Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu (Birdman) curses all throughout his movies, he even said Emma Stone was ruining the movie during the shooting, and what happened? 3. Normal na sa pinoy ang mapagpasensya. Minsan tinotolerate na lang ang di maganda na kalaunanan ay nagiging normal na. Iba-iba talaga pag accept natin ng training noh? For me, it's okay na mapagsabihan, masigawan, mapagalitan kung yun ang kailangan para mag grow tayo in the particular field.
The people in the industry especially those who are behind the cameras are insensitive and want things to be perfect for the sake of the production. Professionalism and Insensitive, two important keys in showbiz. You have to cope with the veterans and professionals because if they notice any minor mistakes that you commit in the set/shoot, you will experience hell from them and you will be left out.
I am with Sir Alvin and Miss Rossellyn because being humiliated by an insensitive or selfish person especially in front of a huge crowd is something that I cannot tolerate, I am not mad at Direk Cathy either, in fact I accidentally bumped into her when I was waiting for my sister at Abs-Cbn. I apologized and she just smiled at me and said everything was okay.
Though, being insensitive doesn't mean you have the right to shout/curse people. You need to think about their feelings too you know because they are not as brave or intelligent as you are. And cursing someone doesn't improve his/herself, it only makes things worse.
She's only sorry she got caught really. We're not barbarians. If you're a civilized intelligent and sensible human being, there's a PROFESSIONAL and BETTER approach to handling these situations. I completely understand Direk Cathy since the day the letter was opened to the public. As I've said, magkaiba lang talaga sila ng mundong ginagalawan. Other than that, the other party intended to open the said issue on social media to call the director's attention at nang sa gayon ay magkaayos na sila. Ang nangyari, mas lalo lang gumulo kasi marami na ang nakisali. So it is better to keep your story safe, and only to yourself and the persons involved.
Words becomes berating, demeaning and humiliating when the person who receives it heard it as such. Minsan un okay na salita satin eh nakakainsulto pala sa iba. I love CGM as a director and I respect her and all of her works. Nothing will change that. I am not in a position to pass judgment to someone I don't know personally.

I wonder if ABS-CBN values respect to individuals. Kasi if they do, I think in my own opinion, Mrs. Molina deserves to be suspended. Yung pagmumura is a clear show of disrespect dun sa tao. Under no circumstances you should say that to your staff. Magalit ka na, raise your voice and point out the problem, palitan agad ng iba pag di makadeliver, pero huwag mong mumurahin; lalo na sa harap ng maraming tao. Insulto yan, kahit sabihin mo pang it doesn't mean the same thing sa industriya nyo. Do not assume. Think before opening your mouth. Hindi mo na pwedeng bawiin yung masasakit na bagay na sinabi mo kahit mag apologize ka pa; dahil naka offend ka na.

I don't think so, because it's the reality of the business. May mas matindi pa diyan na director, in america they would humiliate actors at least every scene. For me I'm a stage actor and in school my teacher also says bad words, I get offended but it's the reality of being an actor.. I'm sorry, but sensitivity is too much for a person like that.

If you're a policeman and your higher officer cursed you because you fail to arrest - it's a maltreatment.
if you're an employee and your supervisor cursed you because you have past deadline- it's a maltreatment.
now, if you're an artist and the director cursed you for not delivering your lines -- you call it, bukambibig???? EXCUSES and no sign of remorse. now tell me, should we consider your industry a professional one when you yourself claims that it is a cultivated practice?
