Time to give this 2006 classic an updated walkthrough! I originally did this back in 2015 in individual missions but I think uploading it in full chapters is much better. Quality over Quantity, y'know? Plus I can now offer much better quality than before. It's a very unique crime/gangster game with a well-written story and interesting gameplay mechanics. Just like True Crime this game is also a little unpolished and glitchy but never stops me from enjoying it. I'm sure you'll recognize some of the voice actors in this too. ;)

This is one of those games that was way better than expected. Especially for 2006. The fact we never got a sequel is crazy.

I often Dream Of a Game 🎮 that You can DRAW your Own Tags and Pieces to be SCANNED and Uploaded Into the GAME. Then The Game would be Open World like GTA but more DETAILED oriented with Character Movements like Shimmying ,Climbing or Hanging ect. You still Have to Bust into Yards, Highways, and Other Places to PAINT to earn POINTS depending on the LOCATION, design. Have Different CITIES you can Compete with other Writers in A TIMED free For All Map. Writers can rag other writers Spots for Points and NEGATE thier scores. The city would be Filled with NPC Characters like civilians and Police that ATTACK and Harass You as a Writer Taking your Points, Cans, n Rep Away if Caught... it's GTA but FOR Graffiti Writers and No cars only Bikes, Scooters, skate board and Riding Public transport Within the Maps... your Tags n Pieces will be RATED upon Uploading to determine the RATE they would Garner within the game based off STYLE n Legibly...
The Warriors, Getting Up , 50 Cent Bulletproof and Def Jam Vendetta and FIGHT FOR NY were my childhood those were the days man no worries or responsibilities
This was another classic I had growing up. Still got it for BOTH my OG Xbox & PS2. Everybody will FOREVER KNOW that Trane Wuz Here! STILL FREE!

This is one of the more underrated games released just before the PS3 came around, it's pretty much an alternative choice to The Warriors so you can switch between the two. Talib Kweli had a field day voicing Trane and I'm pleased to hear him because I listen to some of his old tunes.

I loved that game since 2011 at my PlayStation 2. I wished I wanted to complete this game with 100% collectables to unlock.
The Freeform challenges make 100% very frustrating. I find them quite tedious and ruin the flow of the missions in my opinion...which is why I don't do them lol. Getting all the iPods, upgrades and Legend pictures is great fun though and I'll be sure to do all that in this walkthrough.

Thanks! I'm playing the Steam version and seems to work fine for me. No crashes at all. There was an update a couple years ago which added more settings such as enabling "d3d8to9" drivers in the start up menu. Maybe disabling/enabling that might help.
I’ve upgraded to Windows 11 a month ago, boy was that a mistake, lol….
I keep getting some D3D: BUFFER SWAP error thing and it’s a pain in the ass trying to get this game to run.
Nobody’s talked about this issue and I am worried that I might be the only Windows 11 user trying to play Getting Up.

This game needs a remaster it’s a good game and it made headlines back in the day the papers said that the game was a bad influence on young people still didn’t stop me from getting my dad to buy the game. The game was good but it was hard there’s a bit where you got to tag moving trains with a time limit without getting hit and you had to finish your tags on time and the mission where you have to tag a highway overpass while the cck are shooting at you that’s got an insane timer on it sometimes I wondered if the dev’s actually tried it coz it was hard as hell. Overall for it’s time this was a good game fun to play storyline was ok it did try your patience once in a while, iv still got the game on ps2 now just haven’t played it for time might pick it up sometime one day.

A couple of reasons. I found out the soundtrack is mostly copyrighted and didn't want to upload that game without the music...would have felt bland. Also the lack of interest from the channel was very obvious - considering how long the game is and the amount of editing I needed to do. I just didn't want to commit to a full series that would be highly ignored.
I only know this game cause several years ago, Nerdcubed played it and couldn’t read basic instructions.
Ah yes...I remember that video. He basically made it seem like it was a terrible, broken game and he clearly didn't like it. I enjoy NerdCubed's videos...but that was not his finest moment lol.
