I could imagine Tim Legler being a good coach.
His dream is to coach college basketball at a high level. On the jj reddick podcast he revealed that he’s applied and interviewed but says it’s hard to break into college basketball coaching without having an IN such as being on the coaching staff under a famous college coach, knowing people in the universities administration, or blatant nepotism. I’m sure he could break into NBA coaching by becoming an assistant and then eventually a HC but he says he’s only interested in college

@@MEANDMYDAD2023 if they are shooting well from 3, yes. If not, they will have to grit it out like they have in many of the last wins where they won shooting less than 30% from 3. The reason the Kings game was a blowout was because they finally shot lights out from 3 as well as playing defense, dominating the paint. Luka went off in the first half and Kyrie led the charge in the 2nd half. Dominated the Kings by 36.

I don’t think people realize how big and athletic the Mavericks have gotten in the front court.
Gone are the days of Dwight Powell starting at C and McGee as backup.
Remember Bullock? Yeah he doesn’t play anymore and Luka made him a legit starter. Luka hasn’t had this kind of talent before and if it weren’t for injuries (Kyrie 22 games and Lively 19 games), they would’ve had at least 7 more wins right now.
Luka is a true MVP. Carrying an injured team and making them a contender when they’re healthy.

cause he generates ratings. Initially he made a lot of noise with his takes exactly for that reason. Most of the times they are atrocious and espn decided to keep him. He was just a casual guess.

Mavs have the wrong Tim reporting on them. Legler is infinitely more knowledgeable and likeable then MacMahon and still criticizes and priases when it's deserved
I think teams are overlooking the Mavericks because ver since they've gotten PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford, their defensive numbers have gone up and up and up during this streak that they're on. They've won 9 of their last 10 games and they have been exceptional on the defensive end. If I was a team like the Twolves, Thunder, or Nuggets playing in the 1st round, I would not want to face Dallas in the first round because they can get hot real quick.

@@20Schmidt for sure and this is me being a Mavs fan not just a homer. I think this team is giving me flashbacks of the 2011 Mavericks when they had a Dirk and Kidd on that team. Plus they had a Tyson Chandler (who ironically is one of the Mavericks coaches). Also I think people are under estimating the additions of DJJ and Exum. Those guys before PJ and Gafford got here have really been good for this team. I do think that this team is pretty deep enough to make a run but I do feel like that they need a legit 3rd scorer this offseason to make it even better.

The Mavs might indeed be the most dangerous to the Nuggets. Like the Suns, they have 2 elite iso scorers. No other team in the West outside of Phoenix has that, and that's a large part in why the Suns gave them the toughest series last year.
The Clippers technically have 2 or 3 elite iso scorers as well, but they're a bit of a wildcard, especially with their questionable health.
I still think the Nuggets will win the West, but Mavs, Suns, and maybe the Clippers can bring them to 6.

John Wooden was called the Wizard of Westwood and a great coach and teacher. Fundamentals and team cohesion were paramount for successfully winning. But his greatest observation was that you can't teach height and Dallas is taller and bigger than before the trade.😮

Russel Westbrook's importance to this team cannot be understated. By him taking a role on the bench as a sixth man the Clippers at one point were playing the best basketball in the Western Conference.

Believe that it's Luka. Don't forget the 60/20/10/2/1 (.677 % shooting) game from last year. It had never been done in the NBA before. Don't forget the 73/10/7/1 game from this year (.758 % shooting and 8 of 13 from 3). While others have made 73 before, none of them did on 33 shots, or anywhere close to Luka's shooting percentage. @@baccendtyy1254 dunno, they beat the nuggets even though they struggled with shooting, and they blew out okc. gafford and pj definitely make a significant difference + they finally got healthy because they’ve struggled with injuries until the break, always had multiple dudes out and a relatively new team so it was impossible to get any continuity. luka and gafford really clicked and kidd seems to have found pretty decent rotations. it looked easier last night because pj and hardaway finally shot well, but the game on friday is going to give us a better idea
