Adding a throttle to a pedal assist Hyper ebike

After the video I installed the new PAS sensor and removed the old one. I was able to use pedal assist as normal and could use either/or as I pedaled. With pedal assist turned on I can now see what speed I am going without having to hold down the throttle. To remove the old PAS metal sensor, a proprietary tool was needed. I spent $15 to purchase this tool from amazon.

A lot of entry level ebikes come with the pedal assist function only. This means that in order for the motor to engage and move you forward, you have to pedal the bike. While this is fine for most circumstances it's also a lot more fun to just push the button of a throttle to get you on your way. This video will show how I took a Hyper bike and converted it to one with a throttle. I am not a professional. I just did this for fun to see if it was possible.

Hey my hyper bike has throttle wire from bike (red blue yellow) and controller has throttle wire (red black white), HOW SHOULD I JOIN THOSE?
Hello. I followed your video and worked great!! however I'm having some trouble in making the pedal assist work.. Did you use the existing pedal assist sensor or replaced it with a new one? Thank you!
Initially I attempted to use the existing pedal assist sensor and just splice the wires together. Unfortunately I either did it wrong or it didn’t work at all. Once I removed the old one and added the new one (which was a real pain and required a new tool from Amazon) it worked great. However just make sure the wires are connected correctly or you’ll get no response. Now it works with either or. Glad the first part worked for you. I wish I had filmed the second part too.
Hi, I've changed mine too but the sound is terrible on lower speed, but once it reach to a higher speed like 15km+ the throttle sound is much much better. Is this something that can be fixed?
I don't know to be honest. Did the new controller match the same specifications as the old one? I don't seem to have that issue on mine.

The bike has worked flawlessly after one month. I have since opened the bike back up. Made the wiring a lot more tidy. The pedal assist works excellent. The throttle is also perfect. I do not ride more than 15 - 20 kms in one ride so I have not noticed any differences in battery life.
