We went magnet fishing in the historic city centre of Lincoln. We had some surprise magnet fishing finds! We hope you enjoy our magnet fishing video!

George doesn’t always have the perfect cast, I’ve lost count of the times he’s got stuck to a metal bridge or hit a brick one. That doesn’t sound good what happened to you, hope you were okay. Thanks for watching 👍

I live in Lincolnshire, i've just started magnet fishing my first find was a rusty nail, i sometimes go magnet fishing at Tattershall lake in Lincolnshire.

Hi Eugene the street lamp will be great when it’s restored we are trying to source an original lamp for it but haven’t found one yet. I think we should go back to where we found it the lamp part might be in the river still. it was a nice historical city 👍

I’d refurbish some of those road signs. In the US they sell very well, in addition to advertising signs. Even if in slightly crappy condition.

Things are so well done in the UK. In the US damned if you could find a ‘scrap man’ that would pick up anything. You would have to pay for anyone to take it away.
We are very lucky in the U.K. we have lots of fantastic scrap men that will happily collect the scrap for us 😁

Just an FYI, most US coins are not magnetic. There are a few exceptions, but not many.

@@Magneticg My great great grandfather used to light street lamps in London when they were gas.
If I remember rightly my grandfather said that he was told about it when asking about family stuff as a kid.
He was paid something like a penny for every ten lights. Or something like that.

If it has a cathedral, it’s a city. Easiest way to remember.
we have cities that DON"T have cathedrals. Population is new city guide not medieval measures I think.

@@meichong8278 Bath, Cambridge, Hull, Lancaster, Newport, Nottingham, Plymouth, Salford, Southampton, Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton. All these cities do not have cathedrals. UK towns (and one village) with cathedrals that aren't cities include:
Bury St Edmunds, Chelmsford, Blackburn, Guildford and Southwell!

Dan and I did some fishing at Wareham Dorset and pulled out a few things more than last time, they included pocket knife, large bolts, fishing hooks and line and more. We might have a go in Dorchester tomorrow.

Molasses cleans rust off metal. Mix it 50-50 with water and leave it a week or two. Feed barn will have some.

Hiya kumpels nice video as usual. Im pretty sure the item that looks like a sword hilt is from a narrow boat. They have one on the prow for mooring and towing. Some also have them on the stern. Got a similar one out in birminham city centre. Cant wait to see the restored lamp.

The antique gas street lamp is so neat, and the little flintlock gun was a increable find...is that what is was after you cleaned it? Great video! I look forward to the next.

He did a lot of research ( shown ) about taking the rust off and then a solution bath then preservative .You need to keep it in water
while you decide what to do

You must do great selling scrap .
We would make a small fortune out of the scrap if we scrapped it ourselves. Unfortunately we don’t have the time to do it so we arrange for the scrap metal to be collected by a scrap metal merchant who takes it away for us. They get paid for it when they weigh it in.
