We have those road dividers here in Florida. They’re pretty common in the US in areas that don’t need to be plowed for snow. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your hobby with us.

The thing you called a "cats eye" I think... we call a reflector and the ones on America look different and have flat rectangular reflectors instead of two dots that look like eyes. To find a fire hydrant I think blue reflector is placed in the middle of the lane of whichever side of the road the fire hydrant is on. After watching you two having loads of fun over the years, i have been inspired to get myself a magnet & grappling hook. Am in South Yorkshire near the River Don & some ponds. I know about being responsible with the finds etc. Are there any rules or clubs to know about or join? Cheers Dave
Thank you for your comment, good luck with your magnet fishing hope you find some great things! There aren’t any rules as such. The only thing I would say is don’t magnet fish on privately owned waters without permission. And the other thing is don’t leave scrap metal about. If you can’t take it away with you arrange for a local scrap guy to collect it. There’s a Facebook group called dippers and scrappers they have a directory of scrap men in every area. Thank you for your comment, no we haven’t tested it properly yet. We will be doing a full test video. We had it in the workshop the other day, hooked it on the crane and it lifted my big workbench with ease. It weighs well over half a ton. If you go on our Facebook page magnetic g there is a video of it lifting the workbench on there facebook.com/494250521114903/posts/862514447621840/ The BEAST is a better magnet for general magnet fishing, the GRAVITY is only really for lifting the heavy stuff out. It isn’t very good on small stuff.
We always use this rope from Online Magnets it’s 20 metres long and 800KG break strain. Never use cheap poor quality rope it will snap and you’ll loose your magnet. The ones we have here in the US are both used rather rarely (as Scott said) and of a different design. I first saw cat's eyes when I was in England 33 years ago. It was at least a decade later that I started to see them here, and they were a simpler, less expensive design that isn't nearly as bright.

Love how you and your family do this together. Remember using a metal detector w/ my dad when I was younger in areas where the USA civil war was, and at the beach. (Though only did it occasionally when on holiday, so never found anything really unique)

I am from America and we do have those reflectors in the middle of the road and that piece of wood with a hole in it use to be one of Flavor Flava necklaces lol am sure you probably know but if not flavor flava is a crazy rapper we have here in the states

The flag pole with the number 10 on it I believe came from the miniature golf course which used to be in the Recreation Ground ....where the skating bowl is now......Also across the road from where you were,near the chip shop there is a surf shop more than likely that's where the wetsuit sign came from...The canal part of river was built in 1800's by the Copperhouse Company....lots of history there so you could find some interesting things.

Thank you for your comment, no we haven’t tested it properly yet. We will be doing a full test video. We had it in the workshop the other day, hooked it on the crane and it lifted my big workbench with ease. It weighs well over half a ton. The BEAST is a better magnet for general magnet fishing, the GRAVITY is only really for lifting the heavy stuff out. It isn’t very good on small stuff.

The ones we have here in the US are both used rather rarely (as Scott said) and of a different design. I first saw cat's eyes when I was in England 33 years ago. It was at least a decade later that I started to see them here, and they were a simpler, less expensive design that isn't nearly as bright.

The flag pole with the number 10 on it I believe came from the miniature golf course which used to be in the Recreation Ground ....where the skating bowl is now......Also across the road from where you were,near the chip shop there is a surf shop more than likely that's where the wetsuit sign came from...The canal part of river was built in 1800's by the Copperhouse Company....lots of history there so you could find some interesting things.
