    Hello Sara.
    Thanks again for this lovely hat I already knitted for my daughter. She loves it.
    I would like to knit for my 2 year old grand daughter you did mention that you will do cable pattern for kids too. So I am waiting when you upload the video for kids.
    Honestly I was looking at many cable pattern hats on TH-cam but none were as easy and straightforward instructions like how you explain.your instructions are very very clear and easy to understand hats off to you.
    God bless you and yiur family.
    Best regards
    Jayshree 🙏

    I just finished knitting this project and it was so easy and enjoyable - thank you!!! I used a 6 weight yarn and size 13 needles so had to adjust as I went but that was really easy.
    I started with 70 stitches and realized halfway into the video that the pattern needed to be divisible by 11 so I got some good practice increasing 😆.
    I’m a beginning knitter and your video really broke down some previously intimidating techniques to make them simple and accessible.
    Thank you for making these videos!!

      Will this pattern stretch out after a few washes? Ive been knitting a basic cable hat and find it always stretches out and is so wide it falls off my head. Im sad after all the work I put into it.

    In my attempts to comprehend cables I noticed you seemed to bring your cable needle to the back. I was wondering. At what point is the cable needle brought forward? Did I over look a step?

    Hello! Love this pattern. I was wondering how I knit this in the round using kneed les that have a loop that is too long? Is it possible to knit it in the same way as you do with the babies hat?

    • @knittingforbaby
      @knittingforbaby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can! Just used the magic loop technique and to make it smaller I’d have to adjust the pattern.

  • @wiseposs

    Do you purl into the back of the stitch? Your ribbing looks so lovely and neat.

    Hi, I've just finished knitting the brim (120 St's, on 4mm needles using an Aran yarn) and it looks huge. I have just finished knitting another one of your patterns ( Easy knit ribbed hat for adult men and women) using Hayfield Bonus chunky tweed and it was perfect. Please tell me where I have gone wrong or is it supposed to look big ?

    • @knittingforbaby
      @knittingforbaby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be the tension or double check the stitch count.

  • @neethamanthriratne3297
    @neethamanthriratne3297 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did this using DK yarn and 4 mm needle . It was just the size for may 1 1/2 year old granddaughter.
    It came out nice. First time I tried cable knitting. Thanks for the very clear explanation. 🙏 But I have no way of uploading a picture of my hat.

    Love this hat. I just finished this hat with the straight needles from your video with 112 cast on. The hat fits great. I want to make it now with my round needles but why 121 cast on? I am afraid it will be too big 😢 Any ideas or how to make it smaller?

    • @knittingforbaby
      @knittingforbaby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tension when knit in the round is different so I would go with the 121 st instead which is why I added a few more. Good luck 👍

    How does your purling method not result in a twisted stitch? P.S. Followed your baby hat/booties/mittens tutorials and they turned out great! Thank you!
    Edit: I figured it out. You're purling through the back loop. Man, this method is SO much better than what I was doing before. KFB saves the day again.

    I have knit this hat twice now and love it but everytime it comes to the decrease I have some issues with the knit 3 together with getting the needles through (it’s very tight) . Can I do it by knitting 2 together instead or is there another decrease ? I’m still new to knitting and decreasing . Thank you!

    • @knittingforbaby
      @knittingforbaby  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes absolutely and you can decrease for one more row too.

  • @lynnepouliot4268
    @lynnepouliot4268 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Q) For row 21, after you just added one stitch to have 121 total, you knit the entire row. Why do you alternate knitting in the front of one stitch and in the back of the next stitch?
    Oh! And at 10:23 where you start the first row after your first cable twists, why do you purl in the back of the stitches?

    • @Kai-el7rw
      @Kai-el7rw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      She purls from the back because it’s easier than purling from the front in my opinion. If she knitted in the back, which you can’t do in the round, she would purl the same way but in the front. When you are doing ribbing. If she purled in the front doing ribbing it would look twisted. But once she gets to straight putting..it really doesn’t matter…when not in a rib stick, it looks normal.
      It’s an old German or Russian way of knitting. It’s the way my mom taught me.

      If you are using Aran yarn and 6mm circular needs (all I have at the moment) would you still cast on same amount of stitches? Thanking you in advance 😊

    Hello Sara. Can you please tell me from where do you buy your knitting needles. Can you send me.the link? I would like to order 16 inch circular needles different sizes like the one you are using in this video. The one that I have is bamboo and very long I find it difficult to knit in rounds. I would rather buy something like yours and different sizes if they sell in packs with 10 or 12 different sizes.
    Thank you very much
