Ah, the memories! That is my production music and my voice in some of the clips. Along with Kenny Moses, I had the honor of announcing the NWN shows for a dozen years back then.
I at this 1991 air show with CAF B-17G "Sentimental Journey". It was the best airshows I have attended in 30 years. Bob Richardson had just returned from England while filming Memphis Belle with his B-17F - the last one flying. He "loaned" me his prop governor as ours went bad. He never got a chance to fly his precious B-17F again due to his untimely death. His will donated the B-17F to the museum on the condition that it be kept flying. However the museum did not respect his last wish. Sad. This was the first airshow for "All American", but it would not land on the grass runway for fear of nose wheel collapsing.
Great video! Would have liked more pictures of the Lancaster, which carried a greater bomb load that the other aircraft shown! The only one capable of carrying the Grand Slam bomb! Wish I was there to see this first hand! ;-)
is that the Collings Foundations B-17 and B-24, I never knew they were at geneseo. I flew on that B-24 (now repainted) when the aircraft visited Plymouth MA, in September, 2013, it was an amazing experience
Thanks. Yes, that's the Colling"s Foundation's B-17 & 24. Both B-17's of the CAF were there too! The Lancaster made it to the 2013 show and I have a video of that too. Hope you like the videos and share them. More to come.
Thanks for the video. It brings back a lot of memories.
