- In this video, Amit shares his opinions on Rev-Matching. WHAT is the purpose of rev matching? HOW is rev matching done? WHEN to rev match? This easy technique is easy to acquire and once acquired makes the riding way easier and smoother. Shifting gears will proper revs becomes thrilling. With multiple crackles and pops from the exhaust, downshifts becomes a joy of the ride.
The technique of Rev-Matching not only helps in smoother transmissions but also adds up to the safety measures while riding by eliminating jerks and wheel lockups.

I have been doing rev matching since the past one month, however i learnt it by "accident". And since then, almost 90% of the time I'm downshifting with this technique. What i have also noticed is that with rev matching, one can easily get rid of the bad habit of pulling the clutch every now and then (beginners).

Very less use of clutch overall and smooth rides
This is useful if you ride on a higher rpm... But for a cruiser you'll mostly ride in mid to low rpm where it is not required... You can down shift after slowing down applying brakes.
Agreed! But, REs are built different.
Sometimes a particular gear will just not tend to shift at speeds.
Also, in other cases the gear engagement makes a hard noise.
It may not happen often but surely happens.
Thus, this technique comes in handy.

I've never seen anyone in my college or area who does this... apparently i do this and my driving is so smooth becoz of that
I use to do this on my old motorcycle, later I learnt that this was affecting the life of my machine's clutch. So if I have to upshift, I raise the rpm slightly higher than the sweet spot and shift, downshifting I let the speed and rpm drop lower than sweet spot to change so it's always smooth shift. I ride CB350, for a notorious long gearing, this seems really important for longer life for gears...
Yes, rev matching does affect the clutch plate, but in a positive way:
* Reduced Wear: Rev matching minimizes the speed difference between the engine and the transmission when you shift gears. This results in less friction and wear on the clutch plate.
* Smoother Shifts: Rev matching ensures smoother downshifts, reducing shock and strain on the clutch and other drivetrain components.
* Prevents Stalling: When downshifting without rev matching, the engine can slow down too much, risking a stall. Rev matching helps prevent this.
Overall, rev matching extends the clutch plate's lifespan and improves the driving experience.

Pro tip :- if your vehicle is pulling backward, then increase the throttle blip..
2) You can do the opposite for gear upshift.. put a bit pressure on the lever and release the throttle and press clutch at the same time ..the gear shifts automatically...for gear down also lay your leg on the lever and blip , the gear changes automatically

My Bullet 350’s rear tire’s rim and spokes are always covered in greese after riding. Idk from where it’s coming i think from chainset. Do you know anything about this?

RE instructs in its manual to press the clutch fully to shift gears is that necessary? one you've pressed the clutch past the engagement point, what's the point of pressing it further? Also in rev matching,it would be very inconvenient to press the clutch fully and do a blip at the same time.I could see in this video that you were only pressing the clutch upto the point its disengaged & no more (which makes sense to me).One more question - when i am practicing rev matching ,am i damaging the clutch plates every time i get the timing wrong & get a jolt?
Once its disengaged, it good to go.
But sometimes is may feel its disangaged but the clutch plates are slightly engaged internally which may be bad in the long run.
Its a good practise to engage fully
it may if done aggressively
but once learnt it becomes muscle memory

Is this also the reason why sometimes during downshifting, the gear just won't shift down unless I release the clutch once? Usually happens with me if I am downshifting multiple gears

No, need to apply brakes in general for rev-match.
You can apply brakes if you need to stop/slow the bike with the help of engine braking and actual brakes.
Bro, As now Chrome Bronze is sold without Alloy wheels i.e. spoke wheels, is it worth to buy ? (As of now it is not offered in MIY) Or Should I go for alloy wheels of Marsh Grey or Stealth Black? Is there any Rear Disk issue in classic bikes?(I saw it some TH-cam videos).
The chrome variants and all other variants have gone through an increase in price recently.
Also, yes the MiY doesnt have the alloy option now.
So if you plan to add alloys you will still have to change the tyres to make it completely tubeless which will bump up the cost a lot.
I personally like gunmetal grey over stealth black, both of them come with alloys as stock.
No issue from the rear disks.
If a squeaking sound comes from the disc, it will go away if we rub the disc pads and blow it with air.

first clutch disengage,then throttle blip,then gear shift.aur blip utna tak karna hay jab tak jhatka ka sound na aaaye.thik se kiya jaay to koi sound change nahi hoga.
No if sounding is changing then you are doing it good as you are giving enough revs.
Can you explain why its not clutch blip downshift? Before releasing the clutch we need to blip not begore pressing?

I am trying to do this in my classic 350 stealth black bs7, but sometimes the gear is changed without the clutch. I couldn't conect the cluth and gear thing, as i try to focus on rev and clutch combination. Will this affect the health of my bike. I am concerned as its brand new
Bro, that will just happen when you try a few times. Btw BS6 is the latest emission norm right ? Because I got Gunmetal Grey last month and it's BS6.
Start slowly with engaging clutch, decelerating and engaging gear.

It can be done in any bike. No, it will not if performed correctly.
I am also learning to do this, but even after rev match there's a slight jerk. So is it normal?

I changed my clutch plate at 80000kms i don't do any rev match speed ke hisab se change karna hai kuch jyada understanding engine reponse gear loads is needed

Not advisable to install this, as if bike falls or in tight spaces to pass through it might break or get scratches! But definitely bike looks cool on this

When Im downshifting with rev matching from 45Kmph in 4th gear to 3rd its smooth without jerk but the engine makes a noise like... RRRRRRRRrrrrrrr. Is this normal? I'm concerrned because its unusually loud like engine is crying 😕. I couldn't hear the same sound from your video. I'm noob in motorcycle riding.

the RPM on a lower gear is generally higher which is why you hear that sound

Colour will always be personal preference.
both have a difference of around 20k
and major change is alloy.
alloy and tubeless tyre if bought separately will also cost the same.
Plus you will also have a spare tube type tyre and spokes rim as a backup if you do not exchange it for alloy in the first place.
Just go for whichever colour suits your taste

Bro, for the life of me I can't do it. Have tried to do it on various bikes. R15, gixxer 250 my own classic and v15 but it always feels wrong. Maybe I'll try again on the next ride😢. First we have to blip throttle or clutch? First you said throttle then later in the video blip clutch then throttle. Also, I feel like it seems to work when riding at the top end or midrange compared to normal sub 50 speeds

YES you can do the same for upshift but it's the complete opposite then the downshift .also he told about both downshift and upshift, In RE bike there is no slipper clutch so don't try the same for upshift.

Try to locate one and check out in person.

Colour is your personal choice but make sure its dual channel abs, all else in both bike are almost similar
Here's advice from a Noob who now has figured out rev matching in classic 350 so that you don't face any difficulties.
From experienced ppl POV rev match happens when all done at the same time... clutch, gear, throttle.
For newer riders, a tip:
When upshifting CLUTCH -> GEAR ->THROTTLE is the sequence
when down shifting THROTTLE -> CLUTCH -> GEAR is the correct sequence
I was able to upshift properly but faced problems during downshifting if u follow same sequence as upshifting, bike will jerk. That's when I figured out this.

Actually you are wrong here clutch plate is engaged and dingaged when you press and release clutch or press it but in rev matching there is no much effort for clutch plate but your gear could have much more impact if you did it wrong nothing to do with clutch plate if you didn't believe me then search on Google about this.
I really don't think so because I have seen many Indian and American motovloggers do it and their bikes have been nothing but in best conditions.
