    Apparently you can set up the light to low->hi by a series of half-clicks when the light is low. It’s on the manual.

      Per the manual, press 5 half-clicks and hold on the 5th half-click to set initial on to high. Press at least 9 full clicks quickly to set initial on to low. 👍 Thanks for your review. It helped me with my decision.

    Thank you for this great video! I always want my i3t with high/low setting and the way you skip the ramp-up high mode is brilliant.

      Thank you! Apparently I missed the fact that the high and low mode can be reversed on the i3T 2. I will do a follow up video on this soon.

    Thank you for confirming that the original dims as it runs on high mode. I see people criticizing the "200-100" step down on the v2 as if the v1 stays 180 the entire 21 minutes.

    Thank you for this detailed video explaining the details between both models. I am of the opinion that modes should be low then high, hence I am getting the 1. Props to olight for retaining both models for those of us that have strong opinions.

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the original is still amazing but I wanted to let you know that the i3T 2 actually has the ability to swap the modes around. I was not aware of this when I made this video, so my apologies!

    I can't wait to pick up a new i3t eos 2 since it can use either aaa or 10440 and it sounds like a direct upgrade at that awesome $20 price. Killer. Thanks for the really nice review

      Thank you. Yes, I think Olight nailed this one! Somehow I missed the programming ability when I made the first videos haha. Thankfully other people were on point and let me know. I think the ability to change that is major and I’m glad they didn’t make it too complicated.

    When u turn it on and it slowly ramps up like the i5t that's the driver warming up basically regulating and boosting the battery output.

    Just got a i3T2 after watching this video. Ended up getting the Phoenix gold and black color one. It’s a gorgeous light. Also got my mom a plain black one also. Been using it for fishing and as a headlamp on my hat. It’s great but it’s been inconsistent with battery life on high output. Most times it’ll do it’s rated time of 7minutes @200lm then around 23 minutes @100lm when left on then go into low @5lm mode until it dies. It doesn’t go into high mode anymore after it’s used up the battery a certain amount. And one time I used it, it lasted over an hour on high mode, around 15min @200lm and around an hour @100lm then it jumped to low mode @5lm mode and wouldn’t go back up to high mode when I tried to switch it back to high mode. That was the longest run time I’ve had on it so far. Not sure how you got 4 hours of high mode in this video. But that was awesome, wish mines did that.
    (I’m using Duracell AAA batteries. All brand new, but could also be some batteries had more life in them when manufactured which is what’s making it‘s run time performance fluctuate)

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice! I have heard multiple people say how well done the phoenix version is.
      I have also heard others mention some inconsistency when it comes to output and I think it might be related to how the light ramps up output. Maybe that explains the runtime differences but I’m not sure.

    Great vid. I've been eyeing this on for a while now. I've got a microstream usb. Very comparable to the i3t and it goes with me everywhere. I like that the i3t can take alkaline or lithium ion and its $10 cheaper. The microstream's battery can be removed and charged in a standalone charger as opposed to charging using the micro usb, but it will not accept AAA. Definitely considering picking up an i3t. Thank you for the info.

      Thanks! I thought I’d break this into Pt. 1 and 2 to keep the video lengths down. Also, I know not everyone runs 10440s so I thought the topical approach would be good this time. Thanks for watching and for the kind words!

    When you mentioned the runtimes being longer than Olight claims at the end of the video, do you feel that it was at a useable level? Would you say it was still running brighter than the Low 5 lumen setting?
    Thanks and nice rundown!👍🏻

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you and good questions. I think the output was usable but it was close to that 5 lumen low setting for the majority of the test.

    I do notice i3t 2 low is lower than the original! I just ordered the new version! My biggest upgrade for me would be the easy removable clip, I can never decide and ruin the anodization! My S2R2 is terribly scuffed because of that!
    I didn't get something, is the 200 lumens with the 1.5 AAA, and 300 lm with 10440?
    Right now my favorite is the Acebeam Pokelit AA, because it has 0.5lm with a AAA so I use it at night waking up going somewhere, I also love the light tint (5000k 90Cri), but I hate the memory mode! I left it few times in high and I have to turn it on in my palm to be sure!
    It's impossible to get a 100% perfect light, sooo different lights for different occasions!

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I need to try the Acebeam Pokelit AA. I hear they are really good.
      And yes, it’s 200 lumens on high and the 300-350 lumens is just my estimate for the lumen output with 10440s but it probably isn’t 100% accurate.

    I look forward to part 2 with the 10440 battery. I really think the oh i3t will put perform the new i3t2. Not sure why they made it so that the high mode ramps up where as they got rid of that feature from the i5T I it’s newer i5r. The i3tis also my favourite edc light ✌️

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice, the pt. 2 video is published if you’d like to check it out. Yes, the ramp up feature will probably prove to be the most controversial feature of the i3T 2.

    I find the I3t 2 is a warmer beam. With a 10440 I still prefer the OG I3t. For output.

  • @onedirection3510
    @onedirection3510 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Does the 5lm mode work when running a 10440?
    The gen 2 changes don’t really seem worthwhile. Not literally of course, but practically speaking, there is no difference.

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The low mode does work nicely with a 10440. The ability to switch the order of the low and high mode is nice but yes, they are practically very similar otherwise.

  • @bernardtan1

    This review confirms that flashlights are not consistent in their output despite same lumens. My Wurkkos TS10s all have different output in the 5 lumen setting despite same model flashlight. I wonder if Olight is able to make an i3T v3 which is anduril 2 that would be nice maybe but AAA batteries have very low capacity. My Manker eo2 2 has replaced my i3T as my most carried flashlight now. Manker eo2 2 is a great light it's smaller than the i3T.

    • @PardonMyEnglish

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that will probably prove to be the most controversial feature of the i3T 2. I’m glad the ramp up happens relatively quickly at least.

      @@PardonMyEnglishYeah I agree. I never liked it with the i5t so I was glad when the i5r came out because that didn’t have that feature!

    Can the new pocket clip be installed on the old model?

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question. Surprisingly the i3T 2 clip does not fit on the the i3T. The inner diameter of the i3T 2 tube is slightly thinner than on the i3T.
