In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. I really thought the action and comedy was the best in this movie too. When Po gave Kai the chi, he didn't exactly give it to Kai. He gave it to the masters that he took the chi from. That's why he yelled "Wait, that's too much!" Also, at the beginning, Oogway told Kai "The more you take, the less you have." Then what happens? Kai dies from taking too much. Also, Po was taught Kung Fu with food. Then he taught the village of pandas with their talents. The whole "turn you into you" thing wasn't a callback to the beginning of the movie, it was a callback to Kung Fu Panda 1.
I love how you look at and appreciate each individual detail of the art and work put into a movie!

I totally agree. You took the words word for word right out of my mouth. And as much as I love watching Po and the Furious 5, I don't really see a need for a 4th movie. I think they have told as much as they could and should about the Dragon Warrior. The only thing probably should consider doing is a prequel about how the Furious 5 came together.
Because I am a writer I can understand and appreciate the fast paced beginning. However I do wholly agree with you on the jokes; there were too many that weren't very good. The last half of the movie was absolutely stunning. Everything from the visuals to the audio was beautiful. It made me appreciate the craft of animation that much more and gave me hope that good movies can still be made. Thanks for the review. I look forward to more!
I actually loved this one the most out of all of them. There were soo many things I could relate (one scene in particular that demonstrates fandoms or that semi obvious part in a good book) to and this movie actually explained the plots of the other two movies, it unlocked key little points we might have missed in the first two movies(I'm not gonna spoil anything) so I recommend watching the third movie and then re-watching the other two to see all these key points shown.

I think Kai is the best villain in the trilogy. I'm actually hard pressed to name a villain I like better in any other series, too.
Lord Shen?? Who's better than Gary Oldman? J. K. Simmons was great, but Gary Oldman he is not.
I almost entirely agree! A lot of the humor left me sort of "eh" -- but the FEELS, oh my the feels... I hope everyone goes to see this movie soon so I can talk about them without feeling guilty about spoilers! Thanks for the review Brian.
The second movie will always be my favorite. w< I wish they would bring back Lord Shen in the next movie. He's like the scariest villain in the franchise. Kai disappointed me because of that. ;w;

I like Kung Fu Panda 3 more than other people do because I watched the movie before the trailer. For some reason, DreamWorks decided to spoil the conclusion of the movie in the trailer, along with many other things from the movie. So people might think I’m a little biased on this, but in my opinion, Kung Fu Panda 3 is the best in the franchise. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (the favorite of most people), Lord Shen attacked the panda village, but there was nobody to save them. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. Which was the perfect idea for the third installment of this franchise. One thing that people hate about this movie was the “disappointing” villain defeat. But I don’t think people exactly understand it. Po didn’t actually “give” Kai his chi. He used his chi as a weapon just like Kai did. Po had the chi of all the pandas and his own chi. Kai usually takes the masters’ bodies along with the chi, but he didn’t when Po gave his chi to Kai. That’s why it was too much. He took the chi of a whole village pandas and the Kung Fu Panda at a time without their physical forms. Instead of carrying around more chi amulets, he got loaded with the chi of all those pandas. It makes sense, people overthink it. Chi is like a sword if you think about it. Kai used chi as a weapon, but once it was put inside of him, it killed him. Also, at the beginning, Oogway told Kai "The more you take, the less you have." Then what happens? Kai dies from taking too much. A nice detail DreamWorks added in the final battle was that Po fought Kai with what happened to him in Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2. Also, Po was taught kung fu with food. Then he taught the village of pandas with their lifestyles. The whole "turn you into you" thing wasn't a callback to the beginning of the movie, it was a callback to the first Kung Fu Panda movie. Most people like Shen the most, but General Kai is the best villain in my opinion. He may not have been intimidating, but he had really great villain lines. When Shifu said "Oogway, forgive me." Kai held up the chi amulet of Oogway and said "What do you say, Oogway? Do you forgive him?" Also, his music was obviously the best villain music in existence. Not to mention his weapon, fight style, or entrances. Also, the first two villains were chased by Po and the Furious Five. But Kai was the only villain who did the chasing. Instead of Po hunting him down, Kai would find Po and the others no matter where they ran. Po even said “There’s nowhere to run.” This made Kai felt very unstoppable, which was just as good as being intimidating. Tai Lung and Lord Shen are both villains that people feel bad for, but Kai is just a really terrible person. They made Kai very unique. It was refreshing to see a super powerful villain that everyone wanted to see get destroyed. Most people know that Kung Fu Panda 1, 2, and 3 have the themes of body, mind, and spirit. But there’s more to it than that. In Kung Fu Panda, Tai Lung hurt hurt the characters’ bodies by beating them. In Kung Fu Panda 2, Lord Shen hurt hurt Po’s mind by killing his mother. In Kung Fu Panda 3, General Kai hurt hurt the characters’ spirits by defeating Oogway, enslaving most of the characters, and destroying the jade palace. I caught another detail that makes the movie more meaningful. Po is burdened with the responsibility of teaching kung fu and he feels like he’ll never be able to do it. In the first Kung Fu Panda, he was burdened with the responsibility of defeating Tai Lung. He was able to defeat Tai Lung first try, but he failed at teaching. So he feels like teaching is a new Tai Lung for him. That’s why he was playing with his Tai Lung action figure while he was upset. I don't even need to talk about comedy or animation in this movie. Nearly everyone already agrees that comedy, and animation in Kung Fu Panda 3 is better than in first two movies. The music in Kung Fu Panda 3 is easily the best. It has Kai’s theme, and the final battle music is so much better than the music from the other movies. Also, the action is amazing! The scene of Kai beating Tigress, Shifu, Monkey, and Viper had perfect fight choreography. A lot of people don’t like that the Furious Five didn't do much but I think I need to remind people that this movie is in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Not "The Furious Five" franchise. I was happy seeing the Furious Five get a lot of spotlight in Kung Fu Panda 2, the movie wouldn’t be half as great without that. But I am extremely happy that they didn’t do the same thing for Kung Fu Panda 3. Because in Kung Fu Panda, first Tigress, Monkey, Crane, Viper, and Mantis were defeated, then Shifu was defeated. In Kung Fu Panda 2 they fought alongside Po. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Po had to fight Shifu and all the other masters except Tigress. I don't get how people think this is the worst or second best in the franchise. I think it's better than Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 combined.

I really thought the movie was cool and touching, and visually fantastic, I had no problem with the first half though
yeah i dont know if i am going to see it because if it is mostly serious at the end then it isnt the movie fir me even though the other 2 were great and i did go see them but thanks for the info on this movie

I thought it was amazing! It was a beautiful movie and took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the animation, the plot, the pandas, Kai 💜, and I just loved watching it in general!

Yeah, some sequels and/or newer movies just over do stuff.
I thought the first scene showed an awesome location ay too early, when it would have been better to wait to show that place until Po got there.

I think this was the letdown to the series. not that its bad far from it, it had amazing animation, amazing soundtrack, Team Shifu vs Kai was cool and it has some funny moments. however the problem about Kung Fu Panda 3 was that it lacked the series emotion, The five are so waisted in the movie, to much comedy and it really lost its tention because the pandas was put in actions which was a big mistake. I love Kung Fu Panda 1&2 aseptically 2 because of Shen and the best action scenes from a Dreamworks movie.

I was afraid of this happening... It's a fact that one of the movies after the first one starts to suck... So now I won't get my hopes up if I ever watch Kung fu panda 3 😂😂 thanks Brian! (Wasn't being sarcastic FYI)

Definitely the weakest of the franchise. The story isn't quite as good or interesting. But visually it had fantastic and unique animation, mainly in the climax. Had emotion and Kia was still a great and intimidating villain with a spectacular theme. So everything was a bit weaker than the other two but it was still really good and really enjoyable
