Lately I have received hundreds of comments on TH-cam and Instagram reference joining the army. For all of those who are planning to join the British Army here are a few tips from these guys.
This was their first week into Basic Training.
🗣I hope this Video helps to calm your nerves somehow...🤖
    First week in Pirbright :

    . Haircut
    . Marching
    . RFT(E)

    . etc.
All opinion presented on my channel is personal opinion and I am not communicating on behalf of the Army in an official capacity.

They are so annoying but if you put the striker on the hard edge of your boot and strike it then it should be easier to get going.

@Kieron ZX it depends on who you have if I'm honest corporal wise but yes I think you're mate my advise is get to get 2 lighters put them together each facing each other then tie them together with some tape, but I don't think you will need it for your assessment tho that's just medicals and fitness more for basic training ie intro ex1 and every exercise after that. Good luck tho what regiment do you want to join?

Just awaiting words regarding the commonwealth intake so my application can be process. Until then I'm busy fabricating granite countertops, operating forklifts and keeping fit... Odaine Roberts I've known a load of people in the British armed forces from the West Indies! Glad that you guys are still with us! And that you still look to Britain as friends! Your always welcome here anyway! We love having people who love the nation and it's amazing that foreigners are willing to fight for it as well! I hope you get in, it's a lot easier now that the restrictions to commonwealth citizens have been dropped. What's the opinion of the Brits in Jamaica? I've always heard it very positive anyway! I even heard that a lot regret independence? Any truth to that? I've always wanted to go, it's seems like an amazing place with an amazing culture!

@@keithwatson1384 I work for a lot of Britain's and returning residents. They love it here the sunshine, beaches the food and the culture you name it. Some even say that the houses that they have build here they could never afford it in the UK. Keith Watson if it's your dream to visit just go straight for it. Some of us work very hard to be where we are right now, and at the end of life only two things matters, how well we have lived and how well we have loved.

I "Passed Out" in A.T.R. Glencourse, in Phase 1. Before moving on to I.T.B. Strensil, as Phase 2. Infantry. That was in 93. Then Signals and many doors open to further your skills. I took to it like a duck to water.
I am a qualified H.G.V. Professional Driver and hold a Law Degree with (Hons). I can "Touch Type" 47 Wpm. I hold an Undergraduate Degree in German and I can obviously speak the Launguage with a Southern Dialect. I can also comunicate in French, Spanich, Russian and Pashtu. I am Culturally Aware one may say. A also posses naturally, Mental Stamina like a Duracell Battry, allways that little further.
Nevertheles, I am Mentally and Physically scared through Service. I have one Friend left, who I check on nearly everyday and I Can't even find employment!? But hay, Honking helps and this Machine will never stop. That was the biggest asset the Army ever helped me develop. The rest, the Army Gave me!
All's I know is War. I thrive in demanding and harsh environments. Living off the land, using nature as a friend. Watching the Wild Life and awareness of local culture to the population in which one would Operate in, has allways paid dividends. I'm still here. Just one negative is a thought, that may be counteracting with a positive.
I understand my Place in Life. Only break glass in time of War. We adapt and overcome the Civilian adversity, but a Soldier will always be a Soldier. We know we are different than most of the population. We wait as a Grey Cloud, always ready to Serve Queen and Country...this is all I've ever known. The only enemy is Time itself. The more time you use, the lonely we become.
No one beats the "Clock" which is frustrating, but hay, we came alone, but we go out as part of a larger Family. It's good to know that when that Dark Side comes calling, the "Assosiation" will not allow me to leave alone. I will be carried by the Family I earnt my place to be amongst. I feel proud of that. We are never alone...but I miss my Friends who were beside me...memories are all that is captured in the end, that no one else will ever experience, other than those who were at your side. I have a "Cabby" with old age. I am glad I belong to something Special that only few complete, for the benefit of those we keep safe.

Can't wait to try out, it definitely does look good, though admittedly getting any training in before is hard since with the pandemic, I work overtime in a physically-demanding job. Demanding enough to use up any energy but not enough to get fitter. It's hard to find free HIIT training apps/workouts online too that are proper but I'll still get there. Also I wonder how much parade there is done (or marching), because I used to love doing that in police cadets xD

Let me give you a bit of reassurance. I am a 19st bloke, technically I am 'obese', and I can run for 30 minutes fine. When it comes to running it is essential to prepare, because your calves will be in agony to begin with. Once you have worked the muscle a bit and built it up, it should be too much trouble.

3:27 Advice from a german soldier: Don't get into your sleeping bag with your uniform and boots.
1st: You're going to be sweating and a sweaty uniform is pure hell, if you have to do more marches or don't have the chance to change. And you'll stink.
2nd: If it's cold at night, your body will be used to the warmth of the uniform AND the sleeping bag. You'll freeze your balls off when getting out.
But still, support from your allies. EloKa - Hurra!

cant do a single pullup??? I joined up in '84 so I take it there is no Sutton Coldfield selection anymore, in my unit at 4 days in you was still wearing a crow cap , you had to earn the right to wear a beret and the beret test was at the end of week 6, it was no where near as easy going as this back then, on the 1st day in rifle depot winchester after the gym tests, we were milling in the gym, this was also used to select candidates for the boxing team, and each of us was expected to go hell for leather no holds barred, if they thought you werent putting enough effort in you were put in the ring again, fitness was an everyday thing, and the longest endurance run was 26 miles with all your gear , the boots back the were pretty awful and pounding fractures were pretty rife, they did give you 1 lifeline if you failed the run you could do a roadtest the following day - better off getting it done the 1st time!

    EULOGY FOR LOST FREEDOM
LEST WE FORGET. Remember all of those men and women who fought and gave their lives in two world wars and more, so that we should be free, free to choose our own destiny. Remember all those Scots, Welsh, English and yes, Irish too. And not forgetting all those from our old empire, Indians, South Africans, Canadians, New Zealanders and allies too, such as the Americans, Ghurkhas and Sikhs, the list is long. Remember that they fought and died for our freedom. It is not ours to give away. And let us not forget the cost of freedom, it is not to be bought or sold or given away like so many pieces of silver. It is to be treasured and fought for every time it is threatened, even from the enemy within.
    NEVER FORGET
    THIS ELEVENTH OF NOVEMBER
    BETRAYAL TREASON AND PLOT
