I have owned the v10, v20 and now the v40. Such an underrated phone. It really is unbelievable for $220 bucks. Especially, knowing android 10 will be available for this phone as soon as July 2020.
Just bought the V40 new unlocked from Best Buy for $349. The v40's for Verizon I could find in the $200 range were refurbished or used. Still lot better than spending $1000 for a phone and making payments on it for 2 years.
Be happy about that because once they get it you'll see prices shooting up and even good used ones will be much higher than they are now in comparison to the big names.

Honestly G8 was much louder and clearer. Thanks to the boom sound when u put it on a flat surface. It uses it as sound amplifier. G8 sounds better defiantly.

This is a tough decision. Sure that for the US variant of the G8, you only get a dual camera setup. But the South Korean variant of the G8 has exactly the same triple camera setup and sensor module as the V50 5G, and the V50 5G cameras are exactly the same one as in the V40. I recently bought a V40 from this Amazon link. Showed up and the frame was chipped and scratched badly. Could see white plastic through the gouging on all 4 corners like it had been drug in gravel. Never turned it on and sent it back. Awaiting my refund. Be weary of Re-Cell (seller) phones

V 40 is better than most anything even out now... It's higher res higher ppi than S10 and note 10...it's more durable, lighter louder with quad DAC with better quality.. Pro modes for camera and video... Mil spec ip 68

Yeah they both have quad dac which is LG's signature feature for the phones. I'm still on the fence on which to get, whether v series, g series, v40 or v50 or wait until the v60 goes down, etc.

Check out swappa.com you can get great phones lightly used. For cheaper than 1k 👍 i was a bit worried about 1k+ phones as well especially since I'm a college student but there are some good prices now out there well below 1k😁
Nice job, this video was very helpful to me. Color accuracy is tricky being that there are several factors that can come in to play. For example, the lens, color science, sensor, white balance. Either way, people add those shitty filters onto their pics and vids, which as a cinematographer it's irritating to see a garbage filter try to emulate the work of an actual colorist. But hey, it is what it is.

Android 9 has native built in navigation bar gestures and hiding of the nav bar. You can always use the App Fluid Navigation Gestures which is wayyyyyy better and customizable. I have my V35's gestures setup just like MIUI and iPhone. Made the phone much better to use

I have the V40 and have since October 2018 and just last weekend my Quad DAC messed up because I used it everyday. There isn't any real differences between these 2 phones other than one is a G and the other V series 😊 They're excellent phones

It quit working last Saturday, Sunday, somewhere around there. The equalizer is still functional and makes my 15's bounce in my car. This phone is worth buying again and I may just do that

I really can't decide. Both are the same price right now. It's just so close to call. Lg G8 is more future proof, with "slightly" better cameras, and better battery life. But the V40 has dual front facing cameras, and a larger display. Hmmmm, it's too hard to call :( I guess if I plan on getting another phone next year anyways, longevity doesn't really matter too much. And I do consume A LOT of media (usually all I do on my phone is TH-cam, social media, and occasionally take a few photos). So in that regard, I guess the V40 is probably the better option for what I need in a phone....but, overall, I do think the G8 is the better overall of the two. It's just for what I use my phone for, I think the V40 is probably the better option, just wish it had the G8's battery life lol. If the V40 had the G8's battery, then the V40 would hands down be the option I choose. But, that's also because of what I use my phone for mostly,and the fact that I just need it to last me another year.

It's a great phone but when the battery dies so does the phone there's no way to remove it these permanent adhesive

Dont do that. The V60 has only a 1080p FHD display. You're way more equipped with you're v40...

You'll never be able to remove the battery in the G8 it has permanent adhesive and you will destroy the phone
