How To: General Maintenance on a Smart Drive MX2

Hey guys! As my husband and I were rolling around town yesterday, we realized my Smart Drive was locking up. Today, he decided to sit down and do some general maintenance on my SD, as he does every few months. We figured we would share this information to better help some of you with your device. I found it easier to clean by removing the whole hub motor. Only 4 screws holding it in.

I love the smartdrive, i just wish it was more reliable. It always seems to stop working when I'm out shopping or working.

That has only happened to me once. And I’ve owned mine for 5 years. Does it happen often with yours?

My friend has one and loves it or loved it as the Bluetooth has stopped working after 5 years. The 4 lights just go up and down light knight rider.

Can the whole wheel come off so it can be replaced. I know the roller wheels can be replaced, but what about the entire wheel?

We don’t think so, but it might be possible? I’d recommend contacting Max Mobility directly.

So my smart drive would power on while plugged in but when I take it off the charger it won’t turn on how do I fix this

That sounds like a battery issue. You may need a replacement battery.
