Chipmunks stole my heart long ago. I love the little guys and hand feed them all the time. I planted strawberries and blueberries for them. Great video work!!

Winter is over and our chipmunk friends are back from their torpor(hibernation). Monklet, the female chipmunk who lives nearest to our patio still remembers my wife and I and loves to climb all over us for food. I'm so happy they are back :)

I love these beautiful little creatures. There is one that made its home in the ground at the foot of my back steps. I leave birdseed and peanuts next to its hole for it and keep a small birdbath next to the steps for it to get water. My indoor cats spend hours watching it through the patio door.

I saw some chipmunks in the woods here today and I was watching them. One was clinging to a tree and making the warning / scared sound. I think he knew I was watching him! Another was busy scurrying under leaf litter. They are so cute and I was amazed at how loud such a tiny animal is. I was curious as to where they live and thanks to your video I now know they live in burrows. Excellent photography!

Chipmunks can count to three. One peanut in the left cheek, one in the right cheek, one in the teeth. Then they bounce off to store their gains.
Loved the video, very informative. I have posted several videos on TH-cam as ChipmunkBobby and have about a dozen regulars in my posse. They are friendly, inquisitive and lots of fun. They went to bed early this year and I am looking forward to seeing them again in early spring. Thanks again.

It also eats mice, toads, small frogs and baby birds. There are also carnivorous. People believe because we only see the photos of them eating sweet berries, nuts, seeds and eggs most of which is jammed into their jaws...that they don't eat meat. In fact they do. It's just not a winter storage item, rather a tasty meal on the go kind of thing.

So our chipmunks in north east USA come out in the winter a few times even on cold days. For example they were out this weekend and it was bitter cold well below freezing. They seem to disappear from November through January and come out slowly from February to March then they’re out and about again.

Are the munks back in Canada yet? They just started waking up from hibernation here in Wisconsin(USA) and they remember me from last fall. I saw one of my munk buddies sitting under our car yesterday and as soon as I opened the patio door he rushed over to me :). It's nice to have them around when we are in lockdown from the virus. Nothing warms your heart and lifts your spirits like hand feeding a friendly chipmunk.
Oh yes, it's so fun to watch the Chipmunks !!! The Chipmunk in my backyard wake up the March 3, very early this year !!!

I used to think they were cute when I moved into my house 3 years ago..until they dug holes under every.damn.plant. in my garden 🤬 I'm trying to grow sunflowers this year and half have been destroyed after barely sprouting. Literally rips my heart out when animals destroy things I try so hard to grow...they need more predators
