- One of those days ... October thermals in the Dolomites can be tricky, but also bring you breathtaking views. All this beautiful mountains in that region 😍
We were lucky to catch a day with high base and good conditions for toplanding on Marmolada - the highest peak of the Dolomites.

Mann oh Mann......; astreine Blauthermik mit wunderbarer Sicht bis zum Anschlag, die Capanna Punta Penia in der Nähe.....; und zudem schöne Musik für das Video gewählt..... = so was hätte ich auch mal gerne....; aber vermutlich benötige ich dazu erst eine bis heute nicht käufliche "Blauthermik-Brille"........😎...; danke für's Teilhaben Philip !

An dem Tag war es gar nicht so schwer die Blauthermik zu finden und nachdem wir ja nicht ganz alleine unterwegs waren gings noch etwas einfacher ;)

how was the wind during landing and take-off on the Punta Penia (Marmolada)?
we had some north wind that day. so lots of lee thermals, but landing was fine. north wind then picked up a little and we were able to soar on Marmolada :)
@@philipbrugger yes, there always has to be a light northwind, probably otherwise you will not be able taking off again.

@@Larzemensch nein ist nicht lange her. ich bin nur mit dem xctracer maxx geflogen. auf dem gerät liegt der track noch drauf, hab den aber nirgends hochgeladen.
das mach ich sonst nur wenn ich mit der app flyskyhy geflogen bin

Had exactly this day about 6 years ago including starting at Col Rodella, 60km triangle but not completing it but rather deciding to topland Marmolata with my gang of 4.
Beeing a father of 2 Kids now, this is a rather addictive Video which reminds me of precious and glorious moments of days past which is perfectly captured by the soundtrack.
Totally love them video and have probably whatched it about 50 times by now :-P

I am a father of two kids as well. So I also enjoy adventures with the kids and fly tandem with them ;)
@@philipbrugger my kids (2yo and 4yo) already "flew" with me on the exercise hill and just last week my wife and me did our first tandem after 5 years of not flying together (apparently having kids lowers peoples risk tollerance).
My little one already told me that next time she wants to fly with her own wing... we'll see about that but I hope by the time they can start training my Paragliding-Instructors-License will be finished aswell 🙂

dankeschön! cool, ja ist echt etwas besonderes. wie waren die bedinungen damals bei dir? ich hatte wohl glück... das erste mal in den dolomiten fliegen und dann gleich mit so tollen bedingungen belohnt worden ;)
@@philipbrugger Traumwetter softes 3m Steigen bis 4100 vom Col Rodella weg, dann ruft mir jemand in der Luft zu ( SCHUBI ) he Conny bist ja auch da, komm wir landen auf der Marmolada. Damals waren die letzten 80 m nahe dem Kreuz Schnee & Eis frei mit schwachem NW bei 5-10 km/h an der Schneegrenze gelandet. Habe damals noch nicht gefilmt, waren ca 10 Mann da. Für damalige Zeiten ca vor 20 Jahren noch ein Highlight 🎯
