I would like to do something like that. I would do it to the 250 if I had time but it would be pretty cool to shorty a pitbike. It’s already got a ported head and a larger carb. But to shorty it would make it look great
@@heavyshoulders the best part is that you can do so much to them! One of these days I’m planning on putting on 85 or 150R suspension on it, completely rebuilding the engine with BBR performance parts, and probably weld together my own custom exhaust header. And just buy like a 110 silencer or even an FMF one and then cut the muffler, and graft the two together. But for now I’m going to leave it as is. Till my bank company won’t call me saying my wallet was stolen 🤣
Hey! I’ve gone out once so far and I put the spark arrestor in to compare to riding without. But with the spark arrestor I didn’t notice a lot of difference in sound or performance. The major difference was when I went from dual exhaust to single. That gave the bike a lot more top end. I’ll keep you posted on how it does with out a spark arrestor
Cool man. Ill be shortening my FMF pipe For the looks but its already really loud. Was curious if it would really make much volume difference and if engine response is different power wise. Sounds like little sound difference or performance difference, all about the look which is perfect
@@JupiterHollow ya in all seriousness I shortened mine just for looks. I don’t like the huge bazooka mufflers. But I really didn’t experience much difference in sound or performance but it looks a hell of a lot better👌🏼
Question for ya, since I’m thinking of doing the same for YZ. Why did you cut the end with the cap instead of cutting the bottom end, wouldn’t that have been less work not having to remove the end cap and you also wouldn’t notice the new cut behind the side panel?
Hey man! That’s a good question! I actually started off doing that but soon realized it would mess up my muffler mounts. It wouldn’t line up with the subframe mounts if I cut from the front instead of the end.
Hahaha!! Because without it you’d never get that packing in there again. As a side note, manufacturers actually put masking tape on their packing too. I’ve found it while taking apart a few mufflers. Hope you can still ride knowing you probably have masking tape in your muffler..🤷🏻♂️
Awesome!! Great video! Im always trying to find a way for cleaner exhaust setups
No sound comparison? I’d love to hear it
Looks way better. Wish I had thought of this when I still had my yz.

What pitbike do you have?
@@heavyshoulders 04 crf100. Nothing much but it’s got decent power and fun to play with
@@NOTTApro142 that’s awesome! Those things are fun! You can’t slow wheelie those for days!😎

How did you cut the core to size though? More so i mean how did you reattach it after cutting it
Looked better long bro!!!!😢
Does this have any negative effects?
Looks awesome. Notice any difference in performance and sound when ripping?

Makes sense, thanks man!
Now to do this on the FMF Ti version? want gun mine, but it's gonna leave no colour on the cut. also cutting might change the color of Ti aswell?
No i doubt it. Don’t think it would get that hot to discolor it.. that’s just me though. Might have to try it out one day and let you know🤔
I’m so glad you did a sound test before and after 👎🏽
Like you can really tell through a video anyway
@@heavyshoulders bull shit, of course you can you lazy dip shit.
Looks good 👍
Thanks 👊🏼
do you remember how many inches you took off?
Ya I took off 3 inches
Tryna figure out how to cut the core in the old school FMF FACTORY4 on my 2005 CRF250R
where did you get the sticker kit? can't find it around. looked a while ago tho. what was the price? thank.
The sticker for the muffler? I got it on eBay
Why did you leave the blue tape though 🤦🏻♂️my ocd could never let me ride with that tape in there

can this be bad for the bike?
It won’t hurt the bike and it can make it run different. In my case it made my bike run very strong on the top end
😝 Promo-SM!
This was incredibly hard to watch. This guy cut up a 4.1 for pretty much no reason.
Yup and it’s so rad now. Catches a lot of eyes and people love it
