I think I might be related to this pup: I immediately and joyfully alert to the word 'cat'. My brother used to caution me,"You don't want to become the cat lady.". My honest response was,"Why? A life filled with cats sounds like a dream come true! And assuming that I am a lady...flattering😊!".

Our 7yr old Border Collie adopted a stray kitten. Had I known how bad she wanted a kitten to take care of ,would've gotten 1 along time ago. She's an awesome dog and amazing "mom"

@@MD-vs9ff yeah but cougars have adopted baby deer. Octopus have adopted fish. When you living well and resources are abundant creators will try out a whole lot of things like friendship, gay sex, sharing, ritualistic behavior etc. When you hungry yeah even your own kid and Kin can be a meal.

My mom's boyfriend's now husband's male pitbull wanted nothing more in his life than to be a mama cat. You could always find him out back with the barn cats. He raised a litter I brought home from the shelter. He passed about 5 years ago. He was the sweetest boy RIP Saudi Joseph (his Gramma gave him a middle name)

Oh there are so many babies who need him. A forever cat grows up. He needs babies. He is a dad! He needs his babies. Imagine him as a pack leader making babies with his wife. That would be amazing. He is such an awesome caretaker.
I believe taking care of babies to help them start their life is his real duty. He is so concerned about raising them and watching them become independant individuals. Like a holly mission. He has to let them go, but remembers every one of them forever though 😢

In my experience, a well-raised dog will want to befriend any cat it sees. Whether the cat in question reciprocates is another question entirely. I used to live with a friend who had two cats before she and her partner at the time got a puppy. The pup wanted to befriend the cats but they didn't want to be around her

My grandma told how a mom cat got ran over sp the dog started producing milk and raise.
My shephard was seriously depressed until I adopted a stray with her four puppies. She would wake me up to get the puppies out of the claw foot tub, as soon as they woke up. The two boys would be awake at four. The girls always slept in. The Mom couldn't nurse them, she was starving. She was trying to wean the puppies. She ate a tremendous amount, but wouldn't nurse. My shepherd happily raised them, teasing, and teaching them to play.

I fostered motherless kittens awhile ago snd i loved every minute of it. I am disabled now, but will foster again when i am well. Note; my five pound Female pom wanted nothing to do with the kittens & totally ignored them!!!! ML

When we brought home my oldest cat, she was about 1.5 months old, we told our dog that she was his kitty (they’re both black and white) and he’s adored her since. He even responds to “where’s your kitty?” and he’ll go find her. She actually learned a lot of behaviours from him, including wagging her tail super fast when happy or getting pets. It’s been 5 years and they’re still best of pals!

I gaurantee that will extend his life dramatically. Growing up, we had a little west highland terrier. She hit the age of 12 - 13 and she started going downhill. The vets told us she had maybe 6 months left. a week later, my dad was walking own the street when this beautiful Golden Retriever started following him. The owners were moving and were currently looking to re-home him. So, we took him....Life was sparked again in our little Annie. She lived another 6 years after she had Rocky to cuddle and love. The funniest part, we were told the Golden didn't bark. They never heard him bark once. Our little Annie never shut the heck up...one day, this low, grumbling bark came out of his mouth and he scared himself...Annie taught him to bark! I miss them both so much...

my westie was called phoebe! she was a terror as a puppy, right up until we introduced her to her jack russell brother edward. at this point she totally calmed down and took on a maternal role. taught him everything she knew. though neither of them had a problem with barking as i'm sure you can imagine lol! god i miss them too
