  • How can you see a broad cross-section of Georgian rooms without crisscrossing the country? Go to Winterthur. It is the Du Pont family home where almost 100 years ago, H. F. Du Pont started collecting American rooms from all over the country.
    There is no other place like Winterthur if you want to see authentic period rooms. This starts a whole new series of historic rooms. Seeing and understanding these spaces will help you with design and restoration and new building.

    Brent Hull, the superman of all things wood and restoration. Jacked, tan, with perfectly sculpted hair; Brent Hull is the Adonis of culture and style.

    Ok Brent. Not sure if I should thank you or curse you 🤔.
    But I looked Winterthur up online. Then proceeded to get sucked into spending 2 to 3 hours mostly spent maneuvering through their online virtual tour. Hahaha, I'm also a sucker for other historical arts. Such as fabrics, porcelain and furniture craftsman. Ohhh and the silver steins reportedly hand made by silversmith Paul Revere were just amazing! 👏
    From wallpapers, curtains, bedding and carpets smh. Most people don't realize the skills and work that went into early fabrics. True artisans.

    Love the Hardenbergh room. Here in the Netherlands we have an outdoor museum with all kinds of farmhouses in different styles and the rooms there look very similar.

    I love these old styles! I wonder if any of these beautiful moldings, trim and crown styles can be incorporated into a Cape. I'm about to redo my living room. ..and with common just shy 8' ceilings, I'm not sure how any of this could be applied. Scale...
    Ok...keep teaching me!
    I love this stuff!

      Absolutely, they will work great in your cape.

      He just did a special on how to do mouldings for an 8’ ceiling on the build show!

    New to your channel. Do you give tours (for audiences)? I would love to sign up for a tour or lecture one day. I’m a music teacher but I really enjoy learning about architecture.

    Can I ask what Camera/Lens combo your video guy is using? Your videos always look top notch!

      You need to follow Austin Black's TH-cam page. He discusses all camera and gear.

    Brent, what kind of paint did they use in these rooms? Milk paint?

    • @BrentHull
      @BrentHull  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, but I've never heard them mention milk paints as far as I know. Thx
