I gotta love how Sean Schemmel makes Super Saiyan 3 Goku sound so fierce and deep voiced in this movie.

@@Gardetrace technically first broly cooler movie together with super13 can be canon in 4th unseen timeline, for example if trunks didn't give goku medicine=goku will unaware spread virus to all those people line up in gohan school audition and all those shoppers in that mall, the heart virus happen earlier due to goku fighting freiza cold cooler broly super13 during 2 years after returning from namek, goku had 6 months of peace before dying and 17/18 show up 6 months later, the symptoms is why he has trouble transforming to ssj

Lol I'm so glad you did this movie and I remembering loving most of it as a kid, but only 14 years later have I realized that I've been lied to and that Funimation severly altered the entire story and the conversations between characters. However, I agree 100% about Goku stealing the spotlight. Even when I was 12-years-old I noticed that Goku was just a side character to the whole story of the movie and was pretty bothered that at the end he took the win that should have been for Trunks and Tapion. It's irritating because the focus was clearly on Trunks and Tapion's brotherly relationship.
Exactly, that really brought this movie down. This movie could have been truly great if it weren't for Goku's spotlight stealing deus ex machina. However, it's still one of the better Dragon Ball movies and still one of my favorites. When it comes to Dragon Ball movies, you always gotta swill at least a little bit if poison to try to enjoy them.

An asspull of an attack but a cool one nonetheless.
It is cool, but the attack needed foreshadowing and Goku would need to be the main character of this movie to pull it off. GT puts it to good use.

He did that move as a last ditch effort against Piccolo Daimaō, and never does anything like it in the series ever again. I'm not saying it isn't possible to develop such a technique, the problem is the movie doesn't foreshadow it, and Goku isn't even the main character of the movie, yet steals the spotlight from Trunks and Tapion.

7:10 I know this line from videl was already called out for not making much sense anyways but…videl, your boyfriend, which you hang out with all of the time, is part alien. Gohan’s dad is an alien from outer space. Kid trunks Is part alien, so it’s hybrid alien on alien friendship. Even Bulma’s husband is an alien. It’s just the way that she says “alien” makes it sound like she’s never seen an alien before at this point.

I really hate the way the dub removed all the religious elements of the series
Yeah, it’s pure censorship to not offend non religious folks.
As a non religious person, I think “Guardian of Earth” is the worst thing the dub changed, since it continues to do it to this day, and nobody bats an eye over it. It makes no sense for the role of Kami and honestly sounds kinda lame. And you kept the old Namekian’s name “Kami” anyway, FUNi, which still translates to “God”. Regardless of how untrue it is that he *guarded* Earth in either OG DB or DBZ (WTF was he guarding sitting on his craggy ass up in the clouds with Popo?), where would he have even gotten the name “Kami”?
Oh I know. HIS FUCKING TITLE. Because he’s the GOD of Earth, not the Guardian of Earth. Hell, God of Earth even sounds cooler, since it’s not a generic fantasy title.

So basically if you were to write Videl's name in Japanese, more so specifically Katakana, you would write it as this 'ビーデル'(Biideru). Basically the Japanese pronunciation of Videl's name is basically a pun on the Japanese pronounciation of the english word 'Devil' (which in Japanese Katakana, you would write it as this 'デビール'(Debiiru) or this デビル(Debiru), now there's a Japanese word for devil which is 魔神(Majin), but if you were to write that word in Katakana, you would write as that). Anyway, I hope I explained myself well enough to you about this. じゃねー。

If Tapion has Bulma's time machine, it's possible he went back in time to stop Hirudegarn, somehow traveled to the other timeline to do the same, and gave Trunks his sword. I think he gave the sword to him secretly, since if Trunks did meet him, he would've definitely asked for help fighting the Androids.
And then Tapion visits chibi trunks from time to time.

Future Trunks and Future Tapion couldn’t have ever met, because with no Dragon Balls on Earth for Future Hoi to awaken Hirudegarn’s top half, Tapion stays in that music box and never comes out.
@@androidsenpai1462 I'm assuming our Tapion, the one freed by the dragon balls, travels to another timeline to kill their Hirudegarn, and he secretly gives Trunks his sword.
@@iRazenrak Well, if he went back in time, it would be the timeline where Future Trunks came back and changed reality, which allowed him to be freed from the seal to begin with. All Tapion could do was change the timeline further, not travel to a timeline that was already changed.

Wrong.
Vegeta saved Gohan when Hirudegarn first grabbed him by blasting Hirudegarn which seemed to hurt Hirudegarn a little.
He also insulted Hirudegarn a little bit before transforming, and going by the logic of the Funimation Dub, that should have weakened Hirudegarn at least a little bit since that emotions are Hirudegarn's weakness in the Funimation Dub of this movie.
But like you said, that's not the case for the Japanese version, so that's why I would say that Vegeta is more important in the Funimation Dub of this movie than in the Japanese version.
Heck, he even saved all of those people who were in the building that he got flung into from Hirudegarn's fire.
Yes, they were only in immediate danger, because of Vegeta's involveance, but he still saved all of those people from possibly dying to Hirudegarn.
So, I don't think that it is true to say that he was useless in the movie.

The only reason ssj3 Gotenks was punched out of their fusion in one hit and Goku didn't get knocked out of ssj3 is because he has a better mastery of the form unlike Gotenks.

Another big problem is the complete absence of Majin Buu. He’s arguably the most dangerous fighter they have at the moment and he’s completely ignored and not even mentioned. Literally could’ve singlehandedly beaten Hirudegarn.

Until you realize Goku was a sideshow in DBZ most of the time and Gohan was hogging up all the screen time and had actual wins against enemies unlike Goku the glorified genkai Gohan was the main character raditz through most of the buu series, those Goku lenses got yal confused over more recent times thanks to toei remaking all the promo material and things pertaining to z, but Gohan literally hogs up all the openings and outros of z, Goku is a high budget genkai is all.
