They're past the time where they were super popular, but they've probably sold in excess of 4 million albums worldwide.
They were on Ozzfest CONSTANTLY, played with Limp Bizkit, Korn, Kid Rock, Staind, Creed, and tons of other popular mainstream bands.
Fun fact: their debut sold just 310 copies it's first week and still made gold BEFORE their next album. That's how good this band is live.

I feel that their music got better later in their careers. The early stuff was ok, but as they got older they got more polished. And LJ's voice....holyshit what a voice.

I agree espeically when clint came back. Cold day memory thru kill the flaw is peak to me. I wish they would self produce again. This is the THIRD record with elvis. The riffs are just lacking a bit

dunno man... Home was killer. Songs still hold up e.g. Licking Cream / Denial / Waffle

Sevendust is one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Nath needs to listen to the cold day memory album and he’ll retract his statement.

The production, is so top shelf. Guitars and drums, 10/10. Instrumentals are awesome. Vocalist has a gorgeous clean tone but I’m left wanting for a more aggressive vocal.

They were pretty big back in the late 90s/early 2000s, plenty of radio play and touring with big bands back then.

I miss when kill the flaw, they were taking way more chances. Since elvis has produced its way more of a typical metal sound.

Sevendust are legendary. If you're into this kind of music, you've come across Sevendust at some point, or will. They weren't as "commercially successful" as say, Korn, but their pedigree is undeniable. They are easily one of the hardest touring/working/most consistent bands in the biz. And they still somehow manage to innovate/evolve. They definitely deserve the recognition, but they don't need it. They feel more like a secret shared between friends than a product to me, and I'm cool with that. I just love being able to turn people on to them who never heard of them before. Never gets old; I've heard a LOT of, "why haven't I heard of them before?/why aren't they bigger?" over the years. I used to say the same when I first discovered them, so I get it. 😉 Nowadays, I feel like I share in a really dope secret, and have settled there. Discovered them in '99 btw (was 15), with their album 'Home'. 24 years later, still in rotation.
That being said, they have definitely had a measure of commercial success, and have been featured prominently on radio (with multiple singles), in motion picture soundtracks/compilations, prominent tours, etc., over the years. But this has tailed off significantly in recent years, with the decline of radio as a medium in general, production of compilations, and a general move from film/music>streaming, how artists are promoted, etc. The times have changed, but Sevendust remain a constant, and consistent force of nature. And they are ALWAYS on tour. I think the more you hear, the more you'll really grow to love and appreciate their music. Not only do they have that crisp, hard/gritty/djenty (they really helped to popularize that sound btw), melodic, and groovy sound that is straight infectious, but then Lajon comes in with the positive/meaningful messages, poetic lyricism, and soaring/soulful vocals. I don't gush about many bands like I do with Sevendust, but I think that's only because there aren't many bands that I think deserve it like they do.
To be frank, my only response at this point to, "Why aren't they bigger?" would be, "Probably because they aren't easily digestible/marketable trash". That and maybe, "Who cares? I've seen what's 'big' today, and I much prefer this." lol!
Enjoy the Sevendust journey man! Anytime I see their name in the title, rest assured, I will be clicking. I'm gonna play psychic and predict you'll like 90% of their stuff, at least. 😁 Got a good feeling about this new album. Their releases have been huge surprises for me recently (Blood & Stone, 2019 in particular), as far as how they've demonstrated how they not only never lose a step, but still manage to progress/evolve. MANY bands decline in quality at this point in the game, but they only seem to be getting better. So, if B+S is any indicator, I'm expecting pure awesomeness with this one. And rarely have I been let down in these 20+ years. "Holy Water" is my current favorite for sure, and for many reasons also highlighted in this video. I've been teased long enough; can't wait for the full release!
Props to you if you read all this, as well. I know I can be wordy, but I try my best to make the words used into necessary ones. 😉

Great song and quite different for them, with the heavier electronic elements through the verses. Their debut self titled album is still my go to, and one of my favourite albums ever - its very of the time (1997), but in a good way.

I’ve love 7D since Licking Crème came out… Everything is a much better song off this album. They are very mainstream but always have been. Just wish they’d stop cancelling tours to OZ, death, taxes and 7D cancelling Australian tours lol

The only thing I'd change about this song is the drum pattern during the chorus. Too reliant on the high-hat in my opinion.
