Is the Grit X Pro a contender for your next Smartwatch? let us know what you think
Probably... as a finn obvious choise is polar or suunto `cause i like to support finnish products.
Good old Suunto Spartan feels a bit old these days so this might be next clock to have. First need to watch this review before I make my choise. Its this clock or Suunto 9 peak.
Yes it is a contender, between Instinct Solar 2 or this Polar it’ll be one of them, thanks for the video
Yes absolutely .. in fact it is my first choice
Ive been a fan of polar watches since the M200!! Im currently torn between this and the Garmin Instinct 2. I had the first Instinct but the lack of Connect IQ for the instintct made me return.
I need tough watches as my job has me working in a wet enviroment with chemicals and also where i live Winters can be harsh.
My only gripe is with the Polar App, the main display screen which show metrics is so boring. Add more info and colours like Garmin
This is the best review of this watch I've viewed yet. You went thru most of the details that have been lacking in other reviews. Also, your excitement of the watch makes me look forward to trying it. Great job & Thx!
Thanks Anj! comments like this are always great to see. Hope you like it as much as I did 🤙
I was looking at other reviews but no one was actually selling the watch but your complete review just sold it to me! Thanks
Thanks! It’s a cracking watch and it has most of the features of a top end garmin for half the price! Enjoy 👍
Superb review, I have watched loads of other reviews and yours was definitely the best! All the points that was missing in other reviews, was covered in yours. Brilliant, thank you.
Watch all the reviews that came out today, your as the best description. I’ll be pulling the trigger on that one. Thanks!
Thanks Stephane 👍 Hope it was useful and gave you everything you needed to know.
Reckon will get one. I have owned a grit x for three years and really liked it. Buttons are now sticky though and want to upgrade so probably the pro will do nicely. Thanks for review.
best review! keep on
brapbrap what a review! can't cover much more than that RESPECT
Much appreciated! Cheers 🤴
I had the Vantage V1 and after I saw the Grid X Pro, I baught it, cause of the great new functions and also the amazing design.
It's a beauty! Enjoy
Best review on this watch yet. The black around the screen kills it for me but a very nice watch for the price
Thanks Dan, yeah it's pretty big for todays standards. Be so much better with that being a full display
thx for the great review. I'm thinking to switch from Garmin fenix 5x to the Polar Grit X pro Titan.
Thanks Joost! It's a cracking watch... on of the better ones out there. I'm a big fan of Garmins too... but this is defiantly a good/fair competitor to them!
I wish Polar would add music upload and control like they used to. Not sure if that had something to do with the end of Google Music. I really liked that feature so I didn't have to carry my phone and listen to music.
So you’re telling us you like the buttons?? 😜
Very informative review, cheers!
😆 lovely buttons! Thanks Jamie
The problem all watched share is the ability for the sensor to see through tattoos.
Polar admit that there sensors will not see through tattoos.
I would love to buy the Titan version Grit X Pro watch as I currently have the Polar V Titan which is the only watch I’ve every had that can read through my tattoos to some degree.
I had the Polar V2 but returned it as it just couldn’t see through the tattoos.
I also own Garmin Fenix 6 Pro and Instinct.
Good review.
Hi Hando. That's a valid point for sure and something I can't test with my pasty virgin arms 😆. I'd be super interested as to what makes the difference in it working or not. Both those Garmins are mega watches 🤙 Thanks for the comment 🙌
I have a super tattooed left arm, where a Garmin Versa 2 is currently sitting. I have a clear epoxy sticker that I found on Amazon on the hr sensor currently, and have no issues with the hr working. Will try and test this with the grit x pro when it arrives later this week.
Where can I get the bands for the grit x pro?? Couldn't see this kind of band that you show in the video
Anyone that's had sapphire glass knows it's hard to go back to anything else. It's now a requirement for me on any smart watch. I've had my Fenix 5x sapphire for years and I'm convinced it's un-scratchable haha. The stainless steel case has scratches on it by the screen has zero. It's amazing.
It's pretty incredible stuff! as you've probably heard is standard on the new Fenix 7 with the Solar Power tech too.
Thanks for the video to make decision to buy this watch over Fenix 6. In future, possible to buy Fenix 9 or 10 but for now I feel Polar Grit X pro is sufficient for me.
It's a great watch! I really like both the Grit X and the Fenix range so no bad choice there. Enjoy!
The wrist heart rate monitor is better than Garmins best wrist heart monitor yes? And do you think this polar watch is better to do the 24/7 monitor than the best garmin one?
It's really amusing how you manage to talk with excitement about Polar introducing this "brilliant" feature for charger snapping under the watch. Well it's a about time, some watches had that for many years now.
Not ground breaking...but good either way. Glad you had a laugh 😆
Ok... Maybe im a bit late. What would you suggest between the Grits x Pro and the Suunto Peak 9 Pro?
Idon't need Most of the Features but it's a great watch and I guess I'll take it.
It's a pity that it can't measure the oxygen saturation pressure of the blood.
And it's very thick and has a little too big diameter I have small wrists.
So, looks good. Is the new Fenix 7 twice as good as this for nearly twice the price?
Not at all. I definitely prefer the fenix 7 but it’s a big price hike for not much more in data and features. Hope that helps
I do a lot of treadmill running, indoor rowing and biking and I would like to get me a watch that tracks all of these exercises accurately. Which one would you recommend? I do not care about the price.
I should also mention that I own the Polar H10
A Polar Grit X pro, Vantage V2 would all be great for this... a Garmin Fenix 6 would probably be my first choice if money was no option 👍
Resting eye movement? Thought it's rapid eye movement 😳 kidding mate - Was a great review, have Garmin Enduro atm, pretty sure my next watch will be a Polar.
😆 too right! They are pretty decent... let me know how you get on with it

There is missed link at 4:07
It’s not quite live on site yet…😅 will get that link sorted ASAP
hi i want to ask can u do a comparison of polar grit x pro heart rate acuracy with polar h10 strap
Hi, I actually bought a H10 strap a few months ago and I’ve got to say it’s brilliant. I’ve not done a proper side by side comparison but all I can say is I’m happy with the results from both 👍
Okay thanks for info. Which is better?
Hi. I have a question. Is GPS location better on this watch than on the Garmin Fenix 6? Thanks.
Hi, I believe they both run of single GPS data, so both pretty similar. The New Fenix 6 has duel band GNSS gives improved data, especially in challenging terrain and weather conditions 👍 hope that helps
@@wiggle You probably meant the new Fenix 7 🙂Thank you for your response.
@@martin.kuchar1 I completely meant the 7 🙃 thanks Martin
Great review! How would you compare this to the Coros Vertix 2? Trying to pick between those two haha. Too many option 🤪
I was thinking between the two as well. Coros has a great battery, and Polar only 5-7 days which is super annoying to me. I hate charging devices so often. Polar has better recovery features tho :/ It's a hard choice. I wish there were a combination of both
Thanks Cody, I'm a big fan of Coros watches. Both the GritX pro and Vertix 2 share many of the same features. I like that the Vertix lets you save music on the device...rather than the Grit X just acting as a remote from your phone. The heart rate accuracy and general acuracy of the Polar is better...swings and roundabouts...I'd be happy with either of them 🤘
@@wiggle do you feel like the maps is even worth it in the vertix? I guess that’s my only reason to buy is if the maps were worth it. Otherwise the polar software is great.
@@mutebg I agree!
@@codywright3958 to be honest the maps on both are not perfect...the Grit X is super simple which is good and bad (and Komoot is a great platform to use too). The Vertix maps are far from right. Think Garmin still has the win on this...but they are pretty expensive. All maps on watches arn't quite mastered yet 😅
Hi does it record additional sleep? I usually sleep couple hours than do a workout and get back to bed for 1-2h before I set of to work. Most of the smartwatches don’t record my second nap.
Hi Dawid. A really good question that i'd like to know the answer too. I'd love to be able to test this out but not sure I could force a nap 😅. Be interesting to see how watches record people with different sleep patterens (like night shifts and varited work hours). Sorry I can't help more
@@wiggle No problem thanks anyway. Not a lot of them do that. I know for sure fenix 6 and any other Garmin and Apple Watch doesn’t support any additional sleep . Not just not showing the sleep stages but not even adding any hours of sleep to the total of time you slept. So if you sleep like me 4h than train and then take a 1-2h nap it won’t count it. It’s frustrating because the body battery/ recovery don’t count this stats either.
@@Szynszyla544 No extra sleep allowed 😆Yeah I can 100% imagine it would mess up all the stats around it too. I'll see if I can get an answer from Polar.
I am getting an offer of 250 Euros for this watch under my insurance… should i go for it or buy an apple watch.. my requirements were health tracking and basic smartwatch features…
Doesn't have maps ??
Is it dim?
Hello does it have a barometer widget
Hi, don't think it does actually!
Congrats, you managed not to destroy the watch, contrary to what you did with the Vantage V2
😂😂😂 it must be that sapphire screen! Thanks for the watch 👍
Hi, how does the Grit X Pro compare to the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro?
Both are good...but i'd still say theFenix 6 Pro is my favourtie sports smart watch!
@@wiggle Thank you!
@@wiggle is Grit x pro more accurate relative to heart rate than fenix 6 pro?
What is your opinion 🤔 this watch or Garmin fenix 6 ?
Gotta say I do love the Fenix range... generally more expensive but the Grit X Pro is such a mega watch is makes it a hard choice!
@@wiggle thanks
Does it have lift to wake for the light?
It can do… or you can turn the feature off and make it work with a touch of the screen or the buttons 🤙
@@wiggle thanks bro
The only thing... Is i hate the pro watchband. It's scratchy and irritating, so i too my friend's old Grit X watchband which is much softer and smoother. Now it's perfect 😊
Does it have a barometer widget
Hi, don't think it does actually!
”For extreme conditions” bruh… we got like -25°C like every winter
Yes great but it's battery lasts 7 days max .... So if you more that 7 days away its a paper weight ..... Matrix Power watch problem sorted
Very true...if your away from power or battery packs for over 7 days...this watch isn't for you. I mean that matrix power watch system looks awesome...good contender to the Garmin Power Glass. Love to test one out and see if it works!
Too bad you can't recharge this watch during a break on a ultra hike...battery is not enough for 100 miler distances or more.
Does it have hourly alerts?
Hourly alerts for what exactly? I’ve not set up anything like this
@@wiggle a small beep sound at the top of the hour
@@richardanthony3267 ah I see what you mean…I’m not sure you can. At least I can’t see any options for this
Dunno what you're talking about the screen never seems to get dirty
mine is a fucking fingerprint magnet like ordinary glass
It's not as scratch proof as suggested. And the buttons just keep jamming, I am disappointed wiry this considering its £350
Titanium is not stronger than steel, just lighter
Good point! It's as strong as steel but 45% lighter for anyone wondering!
Not as hard as steel, just lighter
That interface looks pretty slow and laggy…
It's not 100% speedy...noticeably laggy but equally usable. A newer Fenix / Good Forerunner is definitely quicker.
@@wiggle yeah I was playing with my Fenix 5x during the video and even it seemed faster. Hopefully they can improve via software. I was considering the Polar, Venu 2 plus, and the Fenix 7 for my next watch. HR sensor on my Fenix 5 basically never works properly. It's had issues since it was just outside of warranty....
The battery power only lasts for 7 days, rubbish watch ! I'll wait for Garmin Fenix 7.
I'm hoping the Garmin Fenix 7 is going to be insaine! probally with a mega price tag tho 😅
I'm guessing you live away from electricity. Maybe in the jungle or artic circle or something?
