The thousand-yard stare (also referred to as two-thousand-yard stare, combat shock, or shell shock) is a phrase often used to describe the blank, unfocused gaze of combatants who have become emotionally detached from the traumatizing things around them. It is sometimes used more generally to describe the look of dissociation among victims of other types of trauma.
This happens to soldiers that have seen there families getting killed and every one getting murdered in front of them. Hers an example “you have 10 families, and they die 1 by 1 infront of you which makes your brain feel like its in a loop, which develops a thousand yard stare, and doing this at people makes them say “you look weird”. So if some people like friends or family are gonna get killed, dont look.

Since then I feel a extremely strong desire to follow Jesus give up my ways and follow his . Me when bro says “all bark no bite” to the cartel after they let us go with a warning
The last picture that guys eyes exactly the same as my brother before he passed away 3 years ago the difference is at last 2 minutes my brother's eyes looked like heaven was in them his 2nd to last word was mom as she was holding his head kissing him his very last word was wow and his expression was also in astonishment . Since then I feel a extremely strong desire to follow Jesus give up my ways and follow his . This has become very hard part of my life but god never said it would be easy god only said it would be worth it !

These soliders are staring into my soul
My dad had severe PTSD. He use to have big, blue eyes full of character and emotion, but after what happened, his eyes looked like the dude in that last pic. Even the blue in his eyes whitening.

We get looks like we're freaks sometimes when we "zone out". We just go back to a place and time that things weren't that great. These are great examples
Music is creepier than the thousand yard stare
When my mental state was deteriorating due to extreme stress/anxiety , I’d try to play games or watch videos… but it’s as if I was looking right through the screen. I’m happy to say I’m better now 🙂.
I have this happen i loose control and i zone out and sometimes i need to be shaken to get control back because i get lost in thought and yes it can cause anxiety spikes so
I have depersonalization and i think its because hanging with the wrong people, my cousin and i were almost shot down but God kept us safe somehow...whole body went cold...it gets me in the mornings and it getting worse but yeah...that fear and plus some stuff ive seen, it will do it to you no matter if you want it to or not.

At school we had this game, "lapse" we called it, when if someone was discovered in a "thousand yards stare" moment someone had to say "Lapse" and we all had to stare at him until he came to himself and discovered us all looking at him.
I mean, I see what is terrifying like imagine you’re in d day and you see your friend, and his face explodes
Last photo is paranoid josh hutcherson
Btw the guy in the first photo was KIA, he was only 19, his name was Theodore James Miller.
I’m going to be honest I genuinely got this from a love live school idol project Twitter account (no seriously everyone who shows up on down bad love live tweets should be sent to jail right away)
My dad was in Afghanistan. He survived the war but because of the trauma he got addicted to drugs and overdosed. He died.
Meh
He shouldn't be there in the first place. Like a virus in a human body
I think i have it i dont work in the millitary but i saw my parents die in a car crash with my own eyes really traumatic and i keep hallucinating of them😭
Top 3 biggest scary eyes

Basically Someone has PTSD
I work at a veterans home and some of the veterans will flash back and have that same exact state PTSD is no joke they relive it every single day
The least they can do after giving unsuspecting innocents hell in a foreign countries
@@HeartdielessIt’s not their fault tho… and their literally putting there lives on the line every single day and a thousand yard stare is when the brain saw something it cannot process nobody deserves that

Hope everyone is doing good. Sending support, love, and hearts.❤️❤️❤️ Stay safe
They say MOST cases subside in just a few days with MOST of the soldiers
It's a symptom of PTSD. I have CPTSD, and when I have episodes, the same thing happens to me. It scares people. 😂
My dad told me about his first 1000 yard stare. During his service in Afghanistan, he was forced to watch his translator explode into blubber.

As a veteran i wish this wasn't memed as much
One of my highschool teacher's said i freaked him out because I looked like i had "been in the bushes too long" when I asked what that means he said i have a "1000 yard stare." Took me too long to figure out what that means
My dad has a two thousand stare he fought in two wars
I have experience 1000 yard stare in school because i saw my math teacher printing a 250 page book
I think bright colored eyes make the stare more graphic. Anyone with black or brown eyes would look normal
Empty stare, small pupils, never to be healed
It doesn't just happen to soldiers **sigh** it doesn't just happen to soldiers...
