Mister john patituci !!! A really giant of the bass !! He can play all super funky grooves and he is also a super great jazz player !!!! I VERY LIKE !!!!!! ( sorry for my english)
Definitely part of the best of the best though. Feel, versatility, real lines ( not just speed), GROOVE ( which 85% of solo bassist are missing), plus eyes ( can sight read anything) and huge ears...
Sounds like Patitucci is playing with an octave pedal of some kind. Anyone else hear the octave above line? Might be a POG, but I can't really tell. Patitucci is the man!
I live around the corner from The Blue Note. I have seen John not only there, but also at The 55 Bar, and other places he has just walked into to jam... Amazing chops... just one big WOW!!
He is just not funky bass player. This is not his music. But he is realy one of the biggest musicians in the planet. One of the greatest double bass player
Great bass playing with a stone cold grove by the drummer. Every bass player would love a drummer like this. And every drummer would love a bassist like Patitucci

amazing! man, he came to The Netherlands last week and gave a master class in Arnhem and it was just epic
Man I love hearing the Tootch man on the 4 string! Always great vocabulary, instinct, confidence and bump. Been listening since 85. He’s greasy with Nate here🏅🏅
The first time I saw him was with Bill Bruford when I was a kid (I had fake ID and the drinking age was only 18). It was depressing. I almost went home and threw away my bass.
Bravo! I love seeing someone play a 4-string like that. I don't see why people see the need for 5,6, and 7 stringed ones. Sure you get super deep notes or super high notes but you break tradition and could sound just as good and have better spacing for more styles of playing on a 4 string.
guinness4life dude if your better then John I want want to hear you give me a link to your stuff .I'll tell you if you can back it up. or its just bullshit just saying your better means nothing
guinness4life you said you can out play him..John has nothing to prove to anyone he has played with some of the worlds greatest players. stop imbaressing yourself. he is one and I say one of the greatest players in the world. so stop bro.
guinness4life stop. you said it agen you can out play him. show me. you think the fastest players are the best. How old are you. let me hear some of your playing or shut up dude
That's funny, because, I remember when Steve Jordan, Omar Hakim, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Charlie Drayton and other heavyweight cats were all using Yamaha drums; they sounded pretty good.
Haha should've made that clearer I guess, I was referring to Patitucci's bass. If you can make a Yamaha bass sound good, you're a damn fine player in my book
Billy Sheehan might have something to say about being the baddest bassman on the planet! If you want a little taste check out steve vai i'm the hell outta here live at crossroads.
Mister john patituci !!! A really giant of the bass !! He can play all super funky grooves and he is also a super great jazz player !!!!
I VERY LIKE !!!!!! ( sorry for my english)
He's a great person, as well.
You have to show RESPECT!!John is a living legend
I wish I have a drummer like this guy....

Hipster serial killer on drums
I don't know about baddest on the planet. But definitely gotta give respect to the Legend!!
Definitely part of the best of the best though. Feel, versatility, real lines ( not just speed), GROOVE ( which 85% of solo bassist are missing), plus eyes ( can sight read anything) and huge ears...
@@littlestevie9101 ...along with Brian Bromberg; John Patitucci is equally accomplished on the upright acoustic bass too....
Sounds like Patitucci is playing with an octave pedal of some kind. Anyone else hear the octave above line? Might be a POG, but I can't really tell. Patitucci is the man!
You're right. It's a higher octave.
He definitely is
I really really dig john on the four string--
I live around the corner from The Blue Note. I have seen John not only there, but also at The 55 Bar, and other places he has just walked into to jam... Amazing chops... just one big WOW!!
Man his time is killer. Always perfectly locked in
This is great!
He is just not funky bass player. This is not his music. But he is realy one of the biggest musicians in the planet. One of the greatest double bass player
It's a little known fact that John Patitucci and Victor Wooten will be Mankind's last and best line defense against alien invasions.
I would include Guy Nasngue for good measure.
Great bass playing with a stone cold grove by the drummer. Every bass player would love a drummer like this. And every drummer would love a bassist like Patitucci
amazing! man, he came to The Netherlands last week and gave a master class in Arnhem and it was just epic
The drummer is fantastic !
Wow..that is seriously seriously badass to not only the bass player but the drummer too. They are both badass, wow :)
a sic man...and a sic drummer too.
Someone take me into protective custody, cos I just witnessed John kill that groove man! Uh oh, the building's on FIYAAA
great jamming. thanx everyone
Man I love hearing the Tootch man on the 4 string! Always great vocabulary, instinct, confidence and bump. Been listening since 85. He’s greasy with Nate here🏅🏅
John's a legend, we knew what to expect...can we give the drummer some?!
OK. Drumming man, you got it.....
In the very beginning of the clip the phrasing is just from another planet

1:30 Love seeing musicians having a good time! It's infectious.
John is an excellent and versatile bassist. Usually I see him playing 6 string or upright. He's showing some Jaco style here.
amazing talent
Oh also Nate Smith is not bad ... great groove!! Thanks Bret for these pearls:)
He was really solid, but I could watch that drummer all day. And I can't get over how close his name is to John Petrucci.
Kick ass...great!!!
If the guitar has Petrucci the bass has Patitucci
Love it!! 😍
great!
1:30 that is the face of a man who is amazed by how easily he's getting away with just making noise
Great feeling
Amazing really like the octaver
Sounds like a nod to Willie Weeks toward the end there. Nice!

The first time I saw him was with Bill Bruford when I was a kid (I had fake ID and the drinking age was only 18). It was depressing. I almost went home and threw away my bass.
If you do what the great players did, you will get the results they got. There’s no magic. I tell myself that when I feel like quitting. 💪
Understandable
SUPER FERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beast

TROP BON
Cara curto demais seu estilo
this is goooood
Drummers always look like they're in severe pain
I'd put Guy Nsangue in the same league as John. Seeing Nsangue play with Damien Schmitt in Jean-Luc Ponty's band was kickass rhythm section nirvana.
If you don't think John is one of the greatest bass players in the world you can't hear.
guinness4life dude if your better then John I want want to hear you give me a link to your stuff .I'll tell you if you can back it up. or its just bullshit just saying your better means nothing
guinness4life you said you can out play him..John has nothing to prove to anyone he has played with some of the worlds greatest players. stop imbaressing yourself. he is one and I say one of the greatest players in the world. so stop bro.
guinness4life stop. you said it agen you can out play him. show me. you think the fastest players are the best. How old are you. let me hear some of your playing or shut up dude
Remember every note counts, sometimes what you don't play is just as important as what you do play,in music an edit button is essential.
It's not how fast you play, it's WHAT you play, and JP is one of the most melodic soloists there's ever been. I don't know what you mean by "outplay".
Privilégio do melhores criadores
You didn't see that coming, right? ;)
Estudo muito e dom do jazz nos músico se diz isso é dom e estudo
ccalll1, really? Apples are good, tacos good, steak good, chocolate also good. You can't compare any of these to each other. This is GOOD!

What’s he doing
John Patitucci is one of the "Baddest Bass Players on the Planet", just not in this particular video.
I have to agree. He has amazing skill but this is kinda generic wanking for the most part.
More cowbell !!
Damn he can even make a Yamaha sound good!
That's funny, because, I remember when Steve Jordan, Omar Hakim, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Charlie Drayton and other heavyweight cats were all using Yamaha drums; they sounded pretty good.
Max Austin He is talking about Patitucci's Bass
Ah.
Haha should've made that clearer I guess, I was referring to Patitucci's bass. If you can make a Yamaha bass sound good, you're a damn fine player in my book

And some people work hard to make themselves great.
Jazz Video Guy lol. Yeah. My comment was only to show respects to these hard working, super talented legends. That's all.

Thanks, will do.
Drums must have been quite, even damagingly loud. And that is comin’ from a drumma. I vote to keep my hearing.
自己主張プレイすると渋くてかっこいいプレイする人、今現在のトップベーシスト!
Totally agree.
Perdão Gui
