Cars are the best! But are they? Here I'll take a look and use real data and common sense to really prove that cars may not always be the best form of transport.

I can't believe people by me drive to the local bodega. It's so crazy.

I have a car, and I still find myself most of the time riding the bus. It's come to the fact that I don't like driving, and only drive when I have to.

I am in a similar situation aswell, I can just use a car (though at the extra inconvenience of asking my dad/mom to drive me somewhere as I am a minor) but I just use transit for everything I can, I just don't like being in a car for mundane things like going to school, so I don't.

I bought two cars in the span of one year because my ex stole my car. I kind of wish I didn't, I barely use it since everything is within walking distance of me. I got 4 markets literally on every corner of me. Strip malls within 1 mile. Dentist down the street. Optical place thing on the corner (pretty good place actually). Mechanic down the corner. I just don't need a car, I bought it to cheer myself up. Probably should have just invested the money.

Yeah, but what if i need to haul stuff around?
What if it better for me for protection from crimes (theft)?
What if the car is modifed and is my self expression?
What if i dont want to sit next to others in public transit?
What if it allows me to travel out of state/long distances?

then you need a car. but a lot of people have 2 to 3. and some people have a extremly large pick-up truck, and drive it by themselves. moving around a 2 ton vehicle for one person. down the alley, to the gastation.

      Along with what @akiraakiraakira said,
      1. Rent a truck or use a cargo bike, if you need to do this so frequently this is a problem, get a van like the one postal delivery services use, I never said anything about banning cars completely, They have their uses
      2. Yeah recreation is fine, I use ATV's and do karting sometimes, I'm just saying it's not something you should use for everything
      3. Take a bike, but what's wrong with being next to people? It's much less isolating and I've met nice people & operators on public transit along with the fact that going to school on busses (cuz I'm a student yk) you also get to be with your friends that also take public transit
      4. Again, cars have their uses I mentioned it in the conclusion if you watched the video

if you want to travel over long distances, there are these things called high-speed trains and planes, in developed countries, trains are the cheaper alternative while providing way more comfort than a car

      >Yeah, but what if i need to haul stuff around?
Then you can rent one from Home Depot or whatever, or even Zipcar, or have a friend help you out.
      >What if it better for me for protection from crimes (theft)?
I have literally been shot at while driving so really the safety is an illusion. Never been shot at while walking or taking public transit so take that as you will. If anything you're more likely to die in an automobile collision than experience a robbery from walking around.
      >What if the car is modifed and is my self expression?
There are other methods of self expression that do not involve tens of thousands of dollars and pollute our world. There are other hobbies such as working out, gardening, going to museums, reading, etc. that can be better avenues of your self expression.
      >What if i dont want to sit next to others in public transit?
It's really not that bad, also you can just stand or like move to a different seat. Not the end of the world. Like buddy don't think you're too good to sit next to the hoi polloi on the trains lol. It's really not bad.
      >What if it allows me to travel out of state/long distances?
How frequently do you do this? Does it make sense to own a vehicle that costs tens of thousands and pay large fees for registration and insurance to see a national park once a year or something? Just rent a zip car or something.
Personally I do not have a car free lifestyle, but I definitely try to use it as little as possible. Automobiles are a luxury and should be seen as one, not something to do or use all the time or even seven days a week.

Only actual arugment here. If you need to go somewhere specific, take a car
