Here's an interesting bit of relevant lore I didn't include in the video (because I just learned it). After Gifad is disappeared by the Lady when he breaks the Labyrinth Stone, he is wiped of his memories and sent to some Lower Plane and enslaved by fiends. He is eventually sold to a wizard in need of a servant. He slowly starts regaining his lost memories and starts asking the Wizard about Sigil and the Lady of Pain, swearing to get vengeance on the Lady. He learns from different spellcasters throughout the planes, getting more and more powerful and decides the time is now. He travels to Sigil and turns the Ward of Masks into a giant literal sigil for a powerful spell. He casts the spells and gives up his life essence to merge with the sigil, his body turns to dust but as his spirit travels to merge with the spell, he gets trapped. The Lady of Pain had trapped him in a prison. The Labyrinth Stone. The wizard who challenged the lady, was trapped in the gem, and was later released by Darkwood (as Gifad) WAS Rowan Darkwood. It took 3 versions of him to bring these events about: Duke Rowan Darkwood who started the faction war, Gifad, and the wizard in the gem. The Rule of Threes. They looped back into themselves. The Unity of Rings. And his torture and eventual destruction was all because of his own actions. The Center of All.
Lady of Pain is a great character. I hope they do a TV series one day about Sigil, it would be a great setting. Having the Lady of Pain just appearing to float down a street, the panic she would instill, then disappear. Would be awesome.
Planescape holds a special place in my heart, which is why I was so unhappy to hear about the new book. I can only hope that WotC were gentle when they butchered the source material.
Hilariously, this is the first time hearing that Sigil has factions. Like my exposure being from let’s plays or summaries of Planescape didn’t help, especially when focused on unnamed one’s saga.
Wibbly wpnbly timey wimey stuff. It doesn't make sense or matter at all. Gods are weak and everyone has theor own ajenda. But it really does matter to those who treasure it all

That’ll be the next Abyssal Layer I do, but it will be a while. I’m focusing on the Sigil factions now and will probably do Yugoloths soon after
