I am playing on controller and I am not having camera issues. If you have any familiarity with first person camera controls, you shouldn’t have any issues because they are basically the same thing. I agree that the focus on it is a little harsh.
@@TheEnigmaProductions Could you be specific? I'm playing on Xbox and I'm having a great time with it and I don't really have any controller issues, beyond just not being the world's greatest player when it comes to twin-stick shooters in general. But that's a me problem and not the game's fault.
I just finished this on Xbox and my only issue was the absurd difficulty in targeting the specific item on a table that I want to pick up when it’s surrounded by other items - or wanting to shoot a specific target (barrel, lantern, etc) during a hectic firefight. Those issues aside, I didn’t have a problem with using a controller.

I’ve scratched the surface of Weird West: stepped into the boots of Jane Bell, buried a child and a pet, interrogated and tortured captors, spared and killed captives, and aided folks in their quests-for justice, vengeance and, at least once, exhumed a corpse for an undertaker because she left a pair of scissors on them or somethin’. The characters are great, the dialogue/writing is top-notch, and the art direction is spot on. It’s weird ‘cos, you know, it’s _Weird_ West, but it’s a special kind of weird. I can’t put a finger on it, but it’s sitting at a campfire with Kentucky Route Zero and Disco Elysium drinkin’ shine. Well, at least _I_ think so. I’d give it a 9 - 9.5/10.
I dont buy games based off of anyones views..for me too many things affect each gamer and therefore like and dislike different things,also attitude is key as well. Meaning was person in good mood? Like 1 day u play a game u hate it. A week ,month later and u love it.
A 6??? Ha! Sounds like someone needs to.get some more practice playing games. So many of the complaints seem to be the misgivings of a bad player that didn't take advantage of the many systems the game put at their disposal. Such a fun game. Perhaps Paw Patrol is more your style.

Since price is such a factor when it comes to games while I do wish we had a more accurate full scale, I can understand why the industry does seem to work on a 7-10 scale with 7 being a potential death nail unless the game gets hype elsewhere. Although this does seem to be a game where the Metacritic ranging from 73 to 81 depending on the platform isn't because it's as much a consensus among all reviewers that its what the game should be rather you have people that either love it or if not hate it dislike it for what the promise they feel the game doesn't live up to.

6 out of 10 huh, interesting considering every honest games journalist is giving this game very high praise. They also gave Prey (2017) a 6 out of 10 and that game was incredible. It's almost like they don't like immersive sims.

You are going to enjoy and not enjoy certain things, and he does a good job of articulating why he isn't fond of certain things or conversely a fan. The point is this title is clearly divisive, and not receiving universal praise, so GameSpot not liking it doesn't equate to them being dishonest.
15 hours in (on PC with mouse and keyboard), and some cam, balancing and AI issues aside, you can already tell this is going to be as underrated and unerappreciated as Arkane's Prey was -- or Creative Assembly's Alien Isolation. Don't remember whicho ther game kept me last up all night, but Weird West has done it. As developers of these kind of games put it a couple years ago in a PC Gamer feature, these kinda experiences are a tough sell -- and dare I say, probably an aquired taste. Unfortunately, they may have further limited their audience with the more isometric perspective, of which I was sceptical upon the game's announcement myself.
Why give this to a reviewer who clearly has no knowledge of immersive sims? This is an isometric Dishonored/Prey, and deserves to be reviewed under those terms, simply calling it old school and fallout-esque only helps to underline the reviewers inexperience. Yes the controls are a lot, because the game is doing a lot, but despite that the game feels super smooth, and fights aren't a problem because holding RB slows down time, similar to desperados 2. Prey received an absolute dog s*** review, now Colantonio has to put up with more idiocy from GS. Great work guys!!!

What's crazy is that both consoles support kbm natively and some Devs just don't even spend the time to use it. I bet if bf2042 supported kbm there would have been more users at launch and more than now. It's such a joke sometimes how much these Devs are missing out.
Surprise, surprise it’s not a Sony game or Cyberpunk, so the best it could get from game spot is 7/10. Do the conversion and normalize, and this is actually an 8-9/10.

It’s similar to any other Crpg, story is king, grabbing items is always annoying etc etc. Also, there’s a ton of weapons that all have their own sound scape and differing damage/effects so there’s half his arguments contradicted already.

Have to agree with the review. The story, atmospherics, and look and feel of the game rock, but the combat and loot systems ruin it.

It’s a cross between Wasteland 2/3, the Ascent, and Desperados, what more could you ask for. And the icing on the cake it has monsters.
It has far more in common with the Ascent than those others, and just like the Ascent it's pretty average.
