Glad I could help. I think you will like the reel - I have another video coming on the smaller version, the SGT20, which will be posted in the coming days
Hi Dennis, This reel required a high level of parts organization in disassembly and reassembly. Nice solid reel. Masterful job as always. Best Regards, Cons
Down here on the Outer Banks, the Seagate is the most used level wind reels for surf fishing/or drum fishing (shark) off the end of a pier, usually teamed with a 12 foot,or longer rod.
Hi Bro, working on a grandwave 40, please could u do an video on servicing on it. Also another question, how often do u change bearings and how many bearings does these reels have
Another case of dry dirty grease, people must be leaving their gear outside baking in the Sun day after day ? I’ve never had any problems with fishing reels ? I have three of these Seagates, never an issue, nice to see one taken apart, thanks.
Yes - the main cause of the issue is lack of attention. Sometimes they just sit in rod racks on boats, sometimes in hot trunks of cars, etc. Almost all of the time the reels are not rinsed off after using and are not serviced regularly. That is the primary reason the grease dries and impacts the operation of the reels - Thanks - Dennis
LOVE the daiwa reel videos, I've binge watched every daiwa video you've got
Awesome! Thank you!
Very interesting video. Thinking about getting one of these reels, and now I know they're very well made. Thank you.
